The people who leave one and two star reviews must have beef with the owners. That is the only explanation. Sure, they add a $20 resort fee to their daily rates, and they may surprise you with an additional charge for your kid. But even then, the rate (when compared to paying a day rate at another hot spring plus a night in a motel) it comes out even. And while staff is surly, from my experience they get that way from continually reminding people who can't follow the rules what the rules are. Again and again and again. It would be enough drive anyone crazy. Yes, there are too many kids screaming, spashing and throwing footballs and balls to their dad who is standing way too close to you for comfort. But the water feels good. The recently renovated rooms are fine. Ours had a fridge and a microwave and features well made beds, nice comforters, lots of pillows and a beautiful view out to the mountains. Do not be afraid. The Fairmont is fine.

Tom the bartender is rude and can't be bothered to help, when we had an issue with our reservation I called him on a Sunday night he was short tempered and rude and said he didn't have the time to help me so instead of checking the reservations went ahead and charged me again on a reservation that was already paid so when i called back to complain about his lack of knowledge that it was paid he hung up on me! One day, after horseback riding and shooting, we came in for lunch and asked the chef what he was making for himself. The chef said a Venison Banh Mi sandwich on a homemade baguette--OMG, the most amazing sandwich in a place you would, Green O! The accommodations in the tree house were luxurious and amazing! The service was fantastic. We asked for some tequila, and they sent us a bottle of Casa Amigos. It was amazing! The horseback riding was amazing, with an all-gal wrangler guide team was absolutely amazing. One last mention: we tried Elk steak the Green O chefs prepared, which was to die for! We can't wait until the next time we visit the Resort at the Paws Up, and we want to try the glamping side during the late spring or early fall!

My favorite activities were sapphire mining and cowboy. The staff was very attentive and always concerned that we had everything we needed. The ranch manager, Will, ran a well managed resort. Our kids/grandkids had never been fly fishing before and they all said they now have a new hobby. Our stay was over July 4th and Will arranged for a cow boy concert around the fire pit which excellent and a great way to end our stay. I highly recommend the resort.

The accommodations were lovely; darling fully furnished cottages with a spectacular clubhouse/ dining area all looked out across a beautiful meadow with Rock Creek bubbling in the background. He's a master at developing flavors and creating beautiful dishes using local meats and fresh vegetables. His potatoes are legendary, and his cobblers are the best I've ever had! The quality of the food and wine are first class. The all inclusive aspect allowed us to try many new things. Fly fishing was fantastic, and our guide, Henry, was very patient with us newbies. His instructions miraculously saw us both catching cutthroat trout. We also did archery (super fun!), horseback riding, and had a ton of fun doing some distance shooting. I was very intimidated, but with fabulous instruction, felt relaxed and really enjoyed it. We enjoyed some hikes and gem mining to round out our time. Highly recommend a getaway to The Meadows.

I had the pleasure of staying here for the weekend for a friend's destination wedding. The lodge, like a lot of lodges, has it's own style and architecture. They hosted 22 people for the weekend, and many more for the actual wedding day very comfortably. The meals were well done buffet style, and the portions were immense. The service people (special mention to Christel, who was quite personable and attentive) left the island a couple of hours after dinner, but left an abundant amount of snacks out over night. The lodge itself was very comfortable with large windows that opened out to the lake and mountain. They have paddle boats, and water bikes, as well as a couple of canoes. There's ample fishing and the lodge has a few poles and tackle for people to use. The environment around the lake is just stunning! This is an excellent place to host whatever destination event you would want, although, I can imagine if you have a large wedding party, the logistics might begin to get difficult. Shawn runs a fantastic b & b that has over 145 years of history within the walls of this former rectory. His breakfast was fresh, filling and delicious. The room was a step back to yesteryear in its decor and furnishings and provided a comfy and quiet place to rest at night.
