The clasp on my gold omega necklace broke and having dealt with Gold Vampire/Hawkes and Company before, I took it there to be repaired. I picked it up today, and the clasp I selected works perfectly, because it also has safety hinges. I brought some scrap gold and broken silver bracelets to trade in for the repair cost. Abby, who originally helped me when I dropped the Omega necklace off, was there today as well. She meticulously tested each gold scrap and silver bracelet for authenticity and logged everything. A local jeweler put a clasp for $379.75 on my Omega necklace that I did not approve, and it's too difficult to close because it spins. I then read lots of positive reviews about the Gold Vampire. I went there and talked to Cory about how to remedy my dilemma. Cory told me it can be fixed where I can close it on my own. True to his word, the clasp was made stationary and I can now close it on my own. I appreciated his advise, honesty, and efficiency of getting my necklace repaired. I picked my perfectly fixed, cleaned and made like new omega necklace up on their 40th anniversary celebration. They are going to be my go to jewelers from now on. The jewelry store that I had gone too for many years closed this last year. I had to find a new jeweler even if just to maintain settings and prongs. Trust is a huge issue in this industry. I worked in the industry for a few years long enough to hear stories that instilled some fear in me. I also gained enough knowledge to NEVER shop at a mall jeweler!! That being said I was given a chain from this store for Christmas. I wanted to exchange it for a longer chain so I went into the store. I was pleasantly surprised the employees were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. There was no pressure or pushing to make a purchase. It was just a few days after Christmas and the selection was very picked over. They were very kind offered to order the correct chain for me or make a selection from the case. I didn't have the receipt it was a gift they were able to pull the sale in the computer so I had no need inform the giver of my gift that I had to exchange it. I could make up my mind! I ended up leaving I took my chain with me and said I would think about it. I waited until just this week yes (it's April!!!). I still hadn't worn the chain, I had left it in the box never worn. I took it in and they again were great. I was going to exchange it for a longer chain. I had a pendant I wanted on the chain but I couldn't get the pendant over the clasp. The jeweler took it in the back ( which is just behind a wall of windows) and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I looked around while they worked on my chain and ended up keep my original chain and purchasing another! The young man helping me informed me that the piece of jewelry I was looking at was going on sale the next day which was April 1. They run different specials from month to month. He went ahead and gave me the sale price. I had no clue there was a sale he just let me know the April deal and offered it to me. The staff was so patient and helpful.
