Thankfully, I documented everything from my first call to inquire about their services until the end of my experience with Carefree Limousine up until this exact moment. As confirmed to me by Peter, this is a husband-and-wife business: Jayne seems to answer the phones and Peter drives. BUT, I couldn't in good conscious not say anything. This is my experience: On Sept 4, 2025 at 4:42pm EST, I called Carefree Limousine. Jayne quoted me $150 per hour, plus an extra hour ($150) for travel from North Jersey. We needed 6 hours, so the total was $1,050. She asked for a $150 non-refundable deposit and promised an invoice/confirmation. At 5:04pm EST, after confirming with the Mother of the Bride (MOB), I called back and confirmed for 18 passengers (up from 16). Jayne said that was fine. I sent the deposit and received an emailed invoice at 5:49pm EST confirming: 6-hour party bus rental: $900 balance due at pickup $150 "one extra hour positioning fee" Cancellation policy: deposit non-refundable; all cancellations within 24 hrs non-refundable; changes must be 2 weeks in advance. On Sept 12 (day before pickup, 4:45pmEST) Jayne called to confirm. We were still at 18 people. On Sept 13 by 3pm EST, Peter arrived with the 20-passenger bus. MOB mentioned two extra guests would be able to make it (bringing us to 20). Peter said it was fine--just no more than 20, since that's the limit. He had me sign two documents: 1. A verbal acknowledgment of total cost and deposit paid. 2. A form outlining extra fees (e.g., $200 vomiting fee). I asked three times if I'd get a copy by email and was ignored, so I photographed the documents with Peter's acknowledgment. At NO POINT was any "extra passenger" fee mentioned. At our second stop (around 6:20pmEST), Peter pulled me aside and said we'd be charged $60 each for the 2 extra people. I was confused since we'd been quoted HOURLY, not per person, and the bus capacity was 20 people. He told me to call and ask Jayne. When I did, in hopes to clear things up, she, in my opinion, immediately became defensive, cut me off repeatedly, threatened "those two people can Uber home," and hung up on me. I was sober at the time (choosing not to drink to ensure everything went smoothly), and this felt like they purposely waited until the ride was underway to spring hidden charges--hoping guests would be intoxicated and compliant. MOB overheard and called Jayne herself from my phone to resolve things. It seems Jayne treated her the same way--talking over her, and interrupting, MOB only called because she wanted to ensure we would have a guaranteed ride home. (we were 1hr+ from home) Ultimately, the MOB paid the additional $120 To be clear: If they had been upfront about charging for additional passengers, that would've been one thing. The issue is the lack of transparency and the unprofessional, hostile way it was handled. We paid what they demanded, but I felt taken advantage of. Based on this experience, I would NEVER use Carefree Limousine again and cannot recommend them. This review is so others are FULLY aware of what to expect.

We booked Jersey limo to take us to Newark Airport from Freehold, and then a return trip 2 weeks later. The cost for the round trip was $495.14, (for the "limo", not the flights) which included a 20% tip, and needed to be all paid up front, in advance. The trip to the airport was fine, as the driver showed up in a Chevy Suburban. However, due to bad weather in the Newark area, our return flight was delayed multiple times, and departed 7 hours late. We kept the company updated throughout the day. We were told someone would be able to pick us up. Our flight finally arrived at Newark at approximately 2:06 AM. My wife wound up spending close to 30 minutes on the phone with the office, trying to get the driver to our pick-up point, instead of the driver calling us directly. When the vehicle finally showed up, it was an older, smaller, Audi SUV. When I opened the rear hatch to load our luggage, there was garbage all over the place. I was waiting for some of it to roll out onto the ground. The inside of the car and windows were absolutely filthy and disgusting. Surely this was not a vehicle that was part of the normal Limo fleet. The driver didn't appear experienced either. We were grateful that someone came and got us at that time, however, we were extremely disappointed in the car and driver, especially for what we had paid. I later contacted the company, to let them know what our experience was, and to give them a chance to rectify the situation. I was expecting a partial refund, or at the very least a coupon for a discount on a future ride. However, when the owner replied, he mentioned that since it was so late, all his vehicles were booked, so they reached out to a sister company to provide a car. I don't know what kind of sister company would provide a car as filthy as that. I would assume an Uber or Lyft would be cleaner than that. He mentioned they were just trying to help us. But instead of explaining the situation up front, and letting us decide whether to accept the ride from this other company, or getting a refund, and getting a ride on our own, they just sent this car, so they could still keep the full price we paid. It's like going to a restaurant, prepaying for a steak, and then the waiter shows up at your table with a lousy hamburger and says we ran out of steaks, but we knew you were hungry, so we're helping you out with this hamburger. So, instead of offering any type of refund or coupon, the best he could do was apologize, and say "We look forward to servicing you and your wife again." Really? After all that? They say actions speak louder than words. This was not what I was hoping/expecting to hear. With that kind of attitude, it's doubtful I would ever use this company again.
