I read the reviews on their site and I thought a visit would be worthwhile. I had 21 pure silver (.999) One Ounce Rounds that I wanted to sell. They were still sealed in their packaging. The Spot price of Silver was $115.64 at the time I sat down at the desk. The female employee offered me $81 an ounce. I found thst offer absolutely insulting and told her that was a Pawn Shop price. I wish I could recall their names but the same gentlemen helped me about a year ago and more recently like two weeks ago a gentleman Dutch helped me. I had found some old silver spoons and had several gold pieces I no longer wear and was more than pleased with what I was paid. Dutch was very pleasant and professional but also had a warmness. Back in the day this company scammed me for 24k gold pure gold . My 36g when I left home turned into 28g after the employee carelessly spilled the gold everywhere. He said he could only buy the gold from me at 10k gave me ruffly over 200 dollors. My lack of knowledge I was taken advantage of by the gold rush . TL/DR: Look at the item's weight on the scale, write down all numbers, do the math, and get a detailed written receipt ALWAYS. Conclusion: Mistakes happen, and it is your responsibility to double check the math. My trust has been broken. Details: Brought "junk" heirloom jewelry to them on two occasions. Very nice people both times. The second time I was shorted by about 1/3 of the value I should have received. When I realized their mistake I called first and then returned to the location. They were VERY apologetic and paid me the difference immediately and without argument. I was told that they realized their error but could not call me from the store. No excuses. I should have been contacted immediately, though I never should have been shorted to begin with. Readers: Look at the weight of each item on the scale, write down the weight of each item in grams and note its purity (% or carats), the price of that precious metal at about the time of the transaction, and any other factors that affect value (e.g., watches are considered 35% of (or .35x) precious metal value) and their profit (.7x pure metal value). I went in on a Saturday not far from closing. The manager Haley Fisher let me in and explained how they test and value your gold. Haley was great. She didn't rush me or try to talk over my head. After reading the google reviews on Gold Rush Westminster (Colorado Gold & Precious Metals on Yelp) I decided to give them a shot at purchasing some gold jewelry that I had lying around that I didn't wear. Jared was respectful and courteous right from the start. The entire process was smooth and I got what I consider a fair price for the pieces that I sold. He did make it clear that the gold would be melted down and the stones would not be included in the value which I expected and was fine with me given that I never wore the pieces that I sold. I am a firm believer in not having a ton of stuff lying around especially when it is not useful to you and whether it be jewelry or gift cards they are a fair place to unload these items.
