After doing…read moresome research on Google we chose Desert Trails RV Park in El Centro and liked it so much we stayed an extra night! It is conveniently located next to Interstate 8, but road noise was never an issue here, nice and quiet. The park is centered around a 9-hole golf course and is home to mostly permanent residents, but there are plenty of nice, full hookup RV sites available for $45 per night, as well as water/electric only sites. It is pretty, very well maintained, and all of the personnel were nice. We would definitely stay here again!

We thought for sure it would be a place we would like to be. The entrance is gated so we had to call the office to enter. We went to the office where they gave us a pass for our car. We saw the large pool, the nice exercise room, laundry and clubhouse. There were kids in the pool splashing and playing. There is Sunbeam Lake that goes past the office and some of the sites. The lake seems more than a pond as it isn't far across but it is long and runs to the road-where it is public. They say jet skis and boats are allowed-but no swimming. There are no lake sites or lagoon sites for RVs or park models unless someone sells theirs. We drove to see the various sites. The sites are gravel though not many trees. The park just seems to be missing that personal & friendly touch. Quiet is important to us after working & living out of a suitcase for the last year-so being at an adults-only park where it's quiet is very important to us. Sunbeam Lake may be nice but it didn't connect with us.

Visited Walter's Camp on my first canoe camp trip on 3/13/25. I was pleased to see that it wasn't…read morebusy. Tabitha, the camp host helped me get set up and gave me the lay of the land. The general store has a few items, merchandise, and even a bar back that is used when the camp is in full swing after Memorial Day according to Tabitha. I chose a far site at the edge of the property underneath two tamarisk/salt cedar trees which was great for shade. I launched my canoe at the concrete boat ramp and paddled the old Colorado River channel right out in front of the camp which is not lacking in it's scenery of Cibola Natl Wildlife Refuge and the beautiful Trigo Mountains Wilderness viewable eastward. Nighttime is where things came alive! Dozens of braying burros, coyotes, and owls that would hoot up a storm in the trees above me. An a/c or refrigeration until by the general store ran in cycles all night and was about as annoying as someone running a generator. The facilities provided had showers and pit toilets, all in good condition. Taking a moment to stretch/yoga before the morning paddle in the communal hang out area in front of the general store was a great idea. I was greeted by an amazing SW sherbet sunrise over the calm waters of the inner channel of the Colorado, it was spectacular. I'm typically a dispersed camper, so some of my gripes about the noise you can probably take with a grain of salt. Would I stay the night again? Sure, but I'd prefer something a bit more isolated. Thank you Tabitha for all your advice on boating the river as a novice, appreciate what you do!

I was in the first spot adjacent to the road (10' away) so I felt a little exposed and had products in the bed of my truck. Well, no issues. It was quite with minimum road noise. The "neighbors" came over and invited us for drinks around their campfire. Everyone in the park waves when you pass by. Very inviting! We've stayed next door at the Arizona Oasis RV Resort (gated). Both parks have the same great vibe.

They have their own "shallow" groundwater well ,allowing the park to have grass ,,,, so much nicer than dirt blowing everywhere ! They offer a fully fenced DOG PARK, a kids playground and a clubhouse. The clubhouse has a cooking area,board games&library,comfortable seating,with card tables&a pool table. The shower house has great water pressure, the whirlpool spa is hot with strong jets, the coin laundry is s fair price and in good repair . All the public areas are kept very clean.StAff ,,, All care , obviously. The rates here are more than reasonable for weekly or monthly, overnight is a bit more costly. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Cable didn't work and when we went to the office to discuss they provided a Cable box. That didn't work either. WI-FI, its an open WI-FI so service is spotty and we had very little of it. So when they advertise WI-FI just know there isn't a password. You may or may not get Cable i guess it depends on spot your in. We were just told a water main broke so we have a little pressure tonight. Water being shut off tomorrow morning and service starting about noon. WHAT ??? now no water!!! When we were given our initial spot they were putting us in a place where there was a fire hydrant in the middle of it, obviously we weren't gonna fit and had to call emergency line to speak to someone to move us. He was great and we were given another spot. But... no cable!!! For the price we paid we won't be back. Its too bad the resort itself seems decent and the people in surrounding spots friendly. Alot of people are here fulltime and they have homes and rental cabins. Not our cup of tea. Should have just gonna to Parker i think. Sorry Arizona Oasis, we've been to much nice for less and full hookups with cable and WI-FI were just that.

But be careful the winds do pick up and will blow your shade structure or motorhome awning quite a bit! We found the staff so helpful and nice. Lou traveled around, greeted the guests even on the beach with his golf cart making sure everyone was happy and didn't need anything. The young girl in the front office was also helpful. The clubhouse is nice and big and we were able to use it and cool off for games. I'm sure our Group will be back.

It is an oasis in the desert with hot mineral baths and a beautiful saltwater pool there's also a place called the outback where they have live music and barbecues. I is a wonderful place to go and meet new people and get out of a big city
