This is old school Chinese take out, I remember as a kid. We never ordered anything fancy back then, only the basics. It was always Pepper Steak, Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Lo Mein, and Ribs. Sometimes if we went fancy it was Lobster Cantonese. Gold Lee brings back those days for me. This Chinese restaurant has been around as long as I can remember. It's our local Chinese food fix with nice friendly staff..... until now. For 25+ years the same woman (Iris)has greeted guests with a smile and made sure the dishes I selected didn't contain certain allergens. Just lovely. Based on that I'd give a solid 3.5 stars but the customer service that I've received my last few trips has been a total turnoff. I am not sure if the rude person I have encountered (Dawn) is the owner but I hope she is so I can give her some #protips. 1. Stop getting mad when nobody knows who you are. We have never seen you. Introduce yourself and invest in new relationships. 2. Figure out your menu. Stop telling people what you don't have. If I ask for a particular dish that I have gotten in the past I wouldn't care if it's printed on the menu or not, make some effort to accommodate your customers. 2a. After you finally figure out said dish, remember it so I don't have to have the same "We don't have that" conversation again. 3. Give people back their debit cards after they pay you. 4. Revisit your phone etiquette and the old adage that the customer is always right. Remember that there are plenty of other places willing to take our hard earned cash and that we CHOOSE to give it to you. 5. Be fearful of the power of social media. I read some of the other reviews and they said it's a hit or miss. I may have caught it on an off day. We ordered the hot and sour soup, chicken wings, bones ribs combo and sweet and sour chicken combo. Both of the combos came with pork fried rice and pork egg-roll. Nothing was bad, but nothing was exceptional. The fried rice was good and they're light on the salt. Friendly staff and the place was clean. read more

Just moved into the area on cardinal court Scoped out the are and found this old school auethentic Chinese sit down and also take out and delivery 1970s decor old school tea on the tables Booths !! Sooo cute clean and perfect! I'm my new place only a week and I've been here 4 times already ! Just walk in look at menu. Order and wait to take home. Perfect ! Egg rolls and shrimp rolls perfect! They consistently screw up on orders and it's horribly frustrating. The food is ok, but the service is awful. Not really sure why this place has such good reviews. I was looking for something good to eat close to my house. This place had pretty good reviews so I decided to give it a try. It was probably one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever been to! I ordered beef with broccoli and there was so much grease that I threw most of it out because the broccoli was saturated in oil. Definitely the LEAST flavorful Chinese ever. I actually had to add soy sauce to give it even just a little flavor and mask the oily taste! The fried rice was ok, at least to me, though I ordered PLAIN fried rice with no vegetables or meat for my husband, I said it twice actually, and it had all of that in it anyway plus eggs! We ordered a bunch of different dishes and most of them were spot on! The chicken and broccoli which my daughter and youngest son ordered was great! Barbecued spareribs were delicious! Shrimp in lobster sauce was delicious. Cold sesame noodles needed more flavor. Kung app chicken was excellent except that there was too much green pepper. This place is great. Best Chinese takeout I've had ever. It's a little more pricey than the usual but it's not by that much. The quality is outstanding! Instead of getting rubbery chicken that's yellow in color, this chicken has shreds that you can see and all the dishes are packed with flavor. I recommend the sesame chicken. read more

Worked in the area for many years and this is definitely the best Chinese takeout in the area by far. The establishment itself seems unchanged since the 70's but I think that adds to its charm. The fried chicken wings are certified crack and almost every dish I've tried here is made perfectly. They make it in a way that seems to be lost at most other places. I hate when there's nothing in the fried rice but this place puts in the works! They always use top notch ingredients as far as I can tell. It's a mom and pop place and I hear they have been around for over 20+ years so thats a good sign. One customer I overheard in there said he grew up in the area on their food and moved away but still comes back out of his way specifically to eat there and he was easily in his 30s. Definitely recommend this place to any red blooded american because whats more american then chinese takeout! Place can get hectic during dinner and lunch hours so be prepared for that. read more
