Great place to spin dry. Not a bad place in a shit hole San Andreas and Calaveras. They did do a good job putting lip stick on a pig.

When I walked in the first thing I encountered was a strong urine odor The bathrooms for the patients has no hot water. The patient's meds were not given on time and not even correct. It took about five days for them to get it straight and ordered.!!! and I gave them the packet from the hospital !! The food is the worst I have encountered and cold at every meal. Not to mention you fill out a form of what you cannot eat and that's what was exactly served to the patient I witnessed.... No drinks like juices.... If a patient is thirsty during the day,.. they were served warm water as they probably needed to conserve the ice. There's no ice machine. They go fill an ice cooler that you would use to throw cans of drinks in on ice like you would use it for camping.... Shared with all 99 patients and staff ...so of course when they run out the patients drinks warm water all day or don't get served ice at all!! is that part of their state of the art facilities? I don't think so !! They don't even have an ice machine and I don't know what they're talking about ? as directed I marked all my husband's clothes. It's been nine days. He has not laundry done as promised. He had no clothes this morning and they pulled some clothes from somebody else or I should say probably lost and put on my husband. I was rather upset that he had to be put in some ghetto clothes as he called it when he has a nice labeled wardrobe down there enough for more than seven days and he does not have anything. He sat on his bed today with no clothes and a diaper waiting for something to wear as he was mentioning to me he was cold. I guess they do laundry when they feel like it never again will I let the administrators come out to a hospital all dressed up looking good and they put our elderly in these Medi-Cal Medicaid places just to take money from the government and pad their pockets. This is a utter disgrace. I am so thankful that this patient is only there for very short term. My heart goes out to the people that live in this with no real representation and this facility counts on that and I can guarantee you in the state that it is I would like to meet the people that are given at five stars because it must've been under different ownership. This is not that place as far as the accommodations it's fabricated. and the administrators go out hunting for people to put in there. They need the money and they misrepresent by the ad five stars. It's a joke. The only positive thing I is the girls that are actually working. The rooms hands-on with the patients are the only stars in that building. They are so understaffed and overworked it's deplorable.. girls work with kindness in their hearts as they do the best they can under these horrid working conditions. Bless their hearts!!! They are a hell of a team!!.....

After…read morequite a bit of research, and reading good and bad reviews for several facilities we finally settled on the Lakes Treatment Center; which I'm glad we did. The owner, Bernadette, and the counselors were attentive and compassionate during our son's 90-day stay at the Lakes. My wife, and one or both of our two other kids, would visit our son at least every other week. We would attend the family counseling sessions, which I thought were great for not just us, but our son as well. While we certainly hope our son doesn't lapse, which I understand is not uncommon, we would not hesitate having him go back to the Lakes. We are forever grateful to Bernadette and the staff for all they did to help our son. Thank you! Dave

Before even attending I was greated with amazing care having all my questions and concerns answered by the intake team was great. The location is breathtaking with so many things to do on your down time. The staff and admin really go above and beyond to meet needs and do anything they can to help you out. The kitchen staff was amazing always doing what they could to make the best meals and meet as many people's needs as possible. The councilors were awesome even ones not assigned to myself were so helpful and caring. If you're there to get something out of the program you will bottom line you get out what you put in. Being able to hike boat swim fish and of course meet people that you always have things in common with is truly a blessing Bernadette and Travis were so helpful and constantly asking what they can do to help or meet needs. The lakes is an amazing place and program and it being coed and accepting couples is a game changer and makes it so unique compared to other treatment centers. I feel so blessed to be able to attend the lakes and would recommend it to anyone in need it's truly an amazing place with amazing staff and residents. Thank you so much to the lakes for giving me a jumpstart in changing my life

TERRIBLE, POOR, & UNPROFESSIONAL practice. I was referred here by my orthopedic based off my…read moreinsurance network. I made an appointment about a month prior to the appointment date. Over the phone I gave them every bit of information on my insurance card. Appointment day I handed them my insurance card that they verified for a second time and allowed me to participate in my first and last PT session. I had ACL/ meniscus surgery about 10 days prior. In the session they took me in 15 minutes late, so now my hour session was 45 minutes. They rubbed my leg for about 5 minutes and then proceeded to tell me to lift my surgically repaired knee forward, backwards, and sideways 10x three sets of each. When I finished my first therapy session they made appointments for 3x per week for the next two months. When I returned for my second PT session they denied my entrance and cancelled all the future appointments they had made because "my insurance is NOT networked" with them. Shouldn't this have been confirmed the day I called and made my appointment a month prior to my appointment? Or maybe the day I showed up...a month later? They claim to have called twice prior to my appointment to confirm "missing insurance information". But I have absolutely no recollection. And believe me I had all the time in the world to call them back and give them any "missing information" they needed due to my physical condition. Since then, I have been receiving mail with a full charge of $374 dollars for one useless session they failed to tell me that I was not covered by my insurance. Even though they had over a month to verify it prior to my appointment and the day of when I gave them the physical copy. I messaged the billing department and they told me that despite everything, out of "goodwill" they can reduce my bill to $209 "full & final". Having to use crutches fresh off a knee surgery and drive myself 25 minutes for a useless laughable PT session and then later do it again to be denied, canceled, and billed the way they have been is disgusting. I just received another letter in the mail yesterday for the full $374 amount. So much for the "goodwill" My one and only, first and last therapy session was an absolute joke. I promise you that researching athletes that went through the same injury you may have suffered will get you better, stronger, & faster results than this place will.

Where do I begin. First, I followed in my dear Mothers footsteps and I have done hundred of hours…read moreof volunteer works in all sorts of different kinds of care centers ranging from Assisted living through Skilled nursing. More recently having had my Rat Terrier Dog, Kira certified through the Lend a Heart Program in Sacramento to do Animal Assisted Therapy (we are both retired now). My Loved one is 83 Years Old. He was otherwise Healthy ENough to undergo a 4 Level Laparoscopic Back Fusion. The Surgery went off without a hitch, but no where in any of his pre surgical consults did ANYONE Ever mention that people over 65 can suffer serious side effects of memory loss (it apparently is called Surgically Induced Delirium. He went into surgery sharp minded and woke up like he had dementia. It was just awful. I wont go into all the details its just a good thing I trust Sutter - (This is the place to be if you have such a crisis) The only information got for days was from friend and the internet. Then I was faced with 'choosing a care home. WHat to do? I had read the reviews on Folsom Care center, they had a bed, I chose - and we got the lottery! I could not be more pleased. Hands Down Folsom Care Center is the BEST Skilled and Short Term Rehabilitation Center I have ever been in. I have been in Private facilities that don't even come close to comparing the the quality and attention of service that I experienced there. Katherine H, his Nurse, was exceptionally attentive (She is simply AWESOME) as was his entire care team (I will come and add names later, as I am using a friends computer but I wanted to get this review up and running asap). We got the Lottery when we were able to Place my loved one there when an unexpected turn in a surgical procedure requiring to have care and rehabilitation and services of a skilled nursing facility. I have been power of attorney and have been in the role of handing healthcare matters before, but things were complicated because of my personal life matters right now - I myself have been hospitalized for serious health issues of my own twice in the past month, and I am the ONLY relative he has, I am run ragged myself. and this situation was completely unexpected. I have also been 'displaced' from my living situation in the middle of all of this due to a legal separation so my plate is overflowing. What was supposed to be 'house sitting' turned into much much more. Normally, I would have been able to weather much of this (I come from the midwest, we are tough people. But this situation was just 'too much' being sick and all. The staff at Folsom Care center went Above and beyond to take over for me and provide not only the quality of care my loved one needed to get better - but to get me some 'rest' I needed to focus on myself getting well so I can continue to care for him, and get my own issues taken of. They are just amazingly caring. Not only that - the first thing you notice when you walk in is EVERYONE SMILES. WOW. I have never seen this even in expensive high end facilities (remember how I started this - all the volunteer work I did - I DO Have a really good basis to make an accurate comparison) He is home now for a few days. At discharge they reassured me if anthing went amiss, to return to them (I did not even know this was an option instead of the hospital.) I cannot thank them enough for thier caring approach to helping him, but also guiding stressed out over the top me through all of this. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the entire staff and crew. Oh, one more thing, They have an aviary for the Residents. Its just lovely. They keep finches and doves in a clean, lovely enviroment. Its bright and cheery. The birds are even sitting on eggs and raising babies! Its so sweet. Attached is a picture. The residents are well dressed, its a small place with a lovely outdoor courtyard. Everyone that can is encouraged to move about and socalize. The short time he was there, there were many enriching events I witnessed, even a group of young children coming in to visit and sing songs, a birthday song to my loved ones 93 year old Roomate. Its clear they care deeply about the people there - the ladies are dressed nicely even with lipstick and jewerly and the men the same in matching outfits. This is a far cry from some of the places I have visited. IF there were 20 stars it would not be enough! Thanks you Folsom Care Center for being there when We needed you and to all the staff for what you do each and every day to provide a high quality of life for the people there. Bless you all.

They wouldn't give him anything for pain except Tylenol! I spoke to a doctor at the nurses station and he ordered some other pain med, but my husband never received it. The only time he saw a doctor was right after he was admitted. One PT person was extremely rude and kept forcing him to do PT. After he got out, we saw an orthopedic doctor and they said his hip was disintegrating! His leg popped like popcorn in a microwave with any movement. This is extremely painful. They should have done X-rays at the least And they would have seen the problem. His problem was so severe that he was referred to UCDavis. He is now scheduled for a hip rebuild on October 6th. This poor man has suffered for almost 10 months!
