Amazing experience at gold coast. First haircut was June 22nd after work and they know how to treat their customers great and make them feel comfortable. Chris there knows his stuff and is great at keeping the conversation unlike other shops. The place is clean and professional plus the fact that i can make an appointment online is a huge plus for me and reschedule the same day. I've been going back every 2 weeks and i don't plan on going anywhere else as long as these guys are around. Definitely recommend going there!!! read more

Tried this spot out. The barber was skilled and very friendly. Took his time and gave a great haircut. But bottom line, it's too pricey. You can get just as good of a haircut for less than the price paid here. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Mike is. We have had years of bad luck with haircuts for my son who has curly hair when someone recommended Mike at Gold Coast to us. He does an incredible job and is so great with my son. We leave happy after every visit! read more

Unfortunately I've never had a worse haircut than the one in Gold Coast Barbers in Syosset by Mike Coyne. I was rushed out after my haircut and unable to see how terrible it was until after arriving home and my fiance immediately cracked up and said my hair is messed up. Everything was so uneven and choppy. The left side was super long, my right side was short as hell, the back was choppy and the "fade" was not even or sleek. I went to a different barber a few weeks later after trying to regrow the mess. The new barber was shocked and kept stating I had the worst haircut he's ever seen and it was going to be challenging to fix the uneven non-blended lengths. Mike seemed like a good guy and gets good reviews so I'm not sure what the deal is. read more

Excellent service, excellent haircuts, love that they do appointments and overall just a great place

Been getting my cut from Mike for a while now, he's awesome and does a great job. Was more than happy to follow him over to Gold Coast when he moved his chair there. Only been to Gold Coast one time so far, but the place look clean and the staff was nice. If you are in need to trim down the CoViD overgrowth Mike will take care of you. read more

Got to be honest I wasn't impressed with the haircut at all. I'm gonna blame the new Covid protocols because honestly it was weird to try and get a proper tape-up with a mask on but I also think the barber didn't give it his best. Sad but I'll have to stick to Bklyn or Queens for my Needs until I can find a place in LI. read more

Best barbers on LI without a doubt. Mike gave my boy a superstar cut. So legit. Clean and professional. You won't be disappointed. read more

Gold Coast Barbers - rockstar. - Barbers Near Me - Syosset, New York

Went here a few months ago. First, I will qualify by saying, I have very fine, thin hair. I share this, because most 'barbers' (using that term loosely) have no clue how to cut fine, thin hair. It is not an exercise is using a buzzer and lopping off the sides. You have to actually look at the proportions of the hair, and the way the hair falls. Most barbers have no clue. This may be shocking, but some people DON'T WANT A BUZZER CUT/FADE. That being said, this was especially bad, given (1) the price; and (2) the expressed intentions I shared at the beginning and the assurances offered at the outset. The result amounted to a $12.00 haircut. When you go into a barbershop asking for a trim, with four inches on your head, and you leave with an inch-and-a-half, you know you have a serious problem. Besides, the cut was inconsistent and quite frankly sloppy. I don't understand why barbers can't just look at the hair, and trim, and ask as they go along, if you want it shorter or leave it at a certain length, especially for a haircut north of $25.00. Addendum: Not FAKE REVIEW. This is plain fact. Believe it or not. We can take this as constructive criticism. read more

This place is great! Mike Coyne has been cutting my hair as well as my kids hair for years. He always does a fantastic job and is awesome with the kids. One of them he's been cutting since age 3 and the other since 8 months old. It's so hard to find a great barber who knows what they're doing but we've found one in Mike. Love the fact that i can just sit down and he knows exactly what to do. If you go to Gold Coast make sure to book with Mike you won't be disappointed! read more

It took me years to find a barber that actually gave me a cut I like and once I found Kane and guys at Gold Coast I'll never look back! I leave the shop with a fresh fade feeling like a million bucks every time. If you've been searching for a barber search no more! All the guys here are stand up dudes and it's always a fun time. It's not just a haircut, it feels like family in there. read more

Far and away the best haircut I have received on the Island. Chase cut my hair and was very attentive, precise, and friendly. He ensured the cut was what I wanted at each step and topped it all off with a straight razor shave on my neck. The shop was beautiful. The rest of the staff was very nice. Square appointments and payment made everything convenient and efficient. read more

I was unexpectedly back in hometown of Huntington recently and, due to the pandemic, in bad need of a haircut. The area had always been to me a mix of bad barbershops and overpriced salons. But no more. Gold Coast is legit. I scheduled an appointment with Kane on their online system and, having never cut my hair before, he did a bang-up job. On top of that, he's a huge Islanders fan and an all-around nice guy. In addition, the shop is super clean, the music is awesome, and the staff vibe is friendly and jovial. Next time I'm back, I'd definitely return here for a haircut. read more

I was in the market for a new barber and I found them on Bethpage Best of LI. I loved making an appointment online and I walked right in and sat down. I was cut by Chris and he was great, paid attention to what I wanted and made sure I was satisfied. The cut was great and I will be back! Thanks Chris! read more

Mike Coyne has been my Barber for past few years. I used to just walk in to a place and whoever was free would cut my hair. One day Mike cut my hair and actually made a suggestion, got me to change my style a bit. Been going to him ever since. If you want a great cut at a real nice barber shop go see Mike at Gold Coast. You will also get a good conversation out of the deal. read more

Great atmosphere. Excellent haircut, by Ronnie. My 12 year old really likes his haircuts.

I just left Gold Coast Barbers a little bit ago. I have to say not only is the place one of the cleanest shops on the island - the guys there are exactly what professional barbers should be! Although I didn't realize the best way is to make an appointment on their website before hand - they were nice enough to take me as a walk in. Kane asked what I was looking to get, which was kind of a big job because I was hoping he could fix the damage another barber has been doing for a while. Not only did he fix it to perfection but he also took the time to explain exactly how he was doing what he was doing but also - how the mistakes were made previously. He was friendly - efficient - and most importantly he gave me a fantastic haircut. I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Stop throwing your money at high priced LI salons, like I was, and give this fair priced modern barbershop with a old school vibe a try! I couldn't be happier I found this beautiful establishment. Chris and Chase, the dynamic duo of Gold Coast Barbers, cut hair like they were born with scissors as hands. I still have yet to walk out of there with a cut I didn't like and I'm confident I never will. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment on their website, you'll be glad ya did when you walk right in and immediately get down to business...but if you don't, they have enough magazines and TV to keep your ADD in check while you wait (there's even a restaurant next door). Count me in as a lifelong customer! read more

Just got a beard shape up and high and tight hair cut! This is definitely the place to go. Good clean space, awesome music, great customer service down to earth guys. I looked homeless before walking in there and Kane made me look like a different person! Awesome job brother! Thank you so much! read more

Gold Coast Barbers is the perfect mix of modern haircutting and old-school cool. The place is as clean as a whistle, and Chris and Chase treat their customers like gold. I was in a pinch one day, and Chase opened a few minutes early for me so I could get a trim before an event. Chase gives an amazing haircut and makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. The music is always good, and they carry a small selection of specialty products which they recommend to their clients. All in all, they have made me a customer for life. read more

My husband got the best cut ever! The shop was beautiful and immaculate .. Ask for Chase .. He's outstanding!

You could try hundreds of barbershops on Long Island and not come upon one that does it right, or you could just start here. The shop itself is neat, clean and attractive. I was immediately welcomed by both Chase and Chris (who cut my hair) and felt completely at home the whole time. These are stand-up guys. Make no mistake about it, though: beyond the banter is serious skills. Chris did an incredible job listening, asking questions and understanding what it was I wanted. Best of all, he understood I was looking for a real scissor hair-cut, not the standard buzz and taper you find at virtually all other barbershops in this part of the world. I mean, that technique may be okay for some guys, but it really doesn't work for what I have (and don't have) on top at this point in my life. I needed a good old-fashioned, honest-to-God haircut that would make me look my best, and that's precisely what I got. One would think that every barber was trained to know how to use a pair of scissors. One would be woefully wrong. Gold Coast Barbers is the exception among barber shops at this particular moment in time. Another huge plus for this shop is the ability to book appointments online, quickly and easily. I took advantage of this convenience, and would do it again. As compared to other book-online services, this one is a breeze to navigate from the main page of the website. Basically, if you can read this review, you can book an appointment online at Gold Coast. I gave Gold Coast Barbers a try based on the numerous five-star reviews here, and because they were voted "Best of Long Island" in a recent survey. Given this, my expectations were pretty high. They completely delivered. Gold Coast? My experience today was more like coming upon a Gold Mine. read more

Looked for a place close to home with great reviews and this was the perfect spot. Someone I can communicate my needs for a haircut and beard trimming in my native tongue. One of the best cuts I've had in a while. Chris was very attentive listener to details and took his time. Other places rush you. Found my new barber. Doesn't feel like old school barber shop but more like salon at affordable prices. Great service! I'll definitely be coming back & recommend to all! read more

I just moved from Queens and a barber that I promised I'd always go back to: I was in desperate need of a cut and I found GCB after careful research and booked an appointment. I was highly impressed with their initial process from booking online a specific time and barber to the subsequent email and text reminders. From the minute you walk in the door, they make you feel like a regular. Melissa introduced her self and sat me down for my cut. The banter and the cut were both top notch. The cut took a bit longer than expected, which I appreciated it because I wasn't in a rush and she really took the time to make it look awesome. P.S. A High-Life while getting a cut on a Friday afternoon might be the greatest touch in the history of barberdom. After that experience, I don't ever need to return to Queens. I found my new spot. read more

After much research I decided to try gold coast barbers. Not for me...my beard is pristine. My boyfriends needed help. I created a Yelp account specifically to review Gold Coast Barbers. I've been going to a slew of barbers, stylists, and even salons across Long Island. I booked an appointment after not cutting my hair for a whole year and was treated to the best haircut of my life. The barber, Chase, asked questions, made suggestions, and talked me through the entire process. Everything about this place is phenomenal. read more

I was heading home from the train station when I walked by the front of this barber shop. I walked in and the 2 gentleman standing by there chairs were very friendly. I'm usually hesitant to go to a new barber but I figure I'll try them out. These 2 guys looked knew but they difinately knew how to cut hair. By the end of my cut its like I knew these guys for the past 10 years, very friendly and they cut your hair exactly how you explain it to them. I wish these guys best of luck.
