Tree Lyfe Review - Exceptional Service, Great Price, and Even Better People…read more I had been searching for months to find someone willing to take on a tricky job: trimming significant overhanging limbs from my neighbor's property into mine, as well as removing a tree entangled in power and communication lines...something the city refused to touch. Over that time, I had about ten different people come out for estimates. Some turned the job down entirely, and others gave quotes that just weren't reasonable. We were getting frustrated and about ready to give up. Then, this past Thursday, while driving my son to work, my wife noticed a crew cutting trees in someone's yard. She stopped, asked if they had a flyer, and brought it home to me. It was Tree Lyfe. Expecting the usual runaround, I called the number for an estimate. To my surprise, Mike came out the very next day, right on time. I explained the full scope of the job, and after listening carefully, he gave me a quote that was more competitive than anything I had seen so far. I immediately told my wife. She was a little hesitant at first, wondering if the lower price might mean lower quality. But I asked her how the neighbor's yard looked after their job and she said it looked great. They had even neatly cut and stacked all the debris for city pickup. That sealed it. I called Mike back and asked how soon they could do the job. He said he could get it done that weekend. Sure enough, on Saturday, Mike, Robert, and Jimmy showed up on time and got right to work. Every one of them was incredibly polite and professional. They completed all the cutting in one day, then came back the next day to thoroughly clean up, cut, and stack all the debris. I am beyond impressed with Tree Lyfe. They treated my property with the same care and attention I imagine they'd give their own homes. I took photos and videos while they worked and the results speak for themselves. If you're looking for tree work done right, don't hesitate to give Tree Lyfe a call at 757 740 2098. I've already saved their number and plan to use them again for future projects. Five stars, without a doubt.

We had two small trees taken down and a large limb off another tree and some dead wood In Hampton. The crew didn't pay much attention to surrounding plants and damaged some, they could do better. They also were to grind stumps, which was sorta done. The person that came out to look at the stumps to be ground stated the small stump grinding machine would be used so not to destroy the surrounding area and plants. The roots that were around stumps would be done as well. Also, we were told the grinding debris would be cleaned up and taken away. This is what we ended up with for the stump grinding. A large stump grinder was brought to the job, one operated by remote, not the small unit, the grinder tore the yard up in several places and the borders around the area. The stump in one area were pretty much ground down but the roots around the actual stump, still there and damaged plants. The other stump, about 1/3 taken down. The debris, about a trash can load was taken away, but we have hauled away 5 wheelbarrow of debris that was thrown in the holes or mixed into the mulch. When we contacted the office with a picture of the grinder and asked if this is what they consider a small grinder we were told no, this was the best grinder for our job. Not sure how the person sitting in an office knows what is best when their representative STANDING in your yard looking at what needs to be done states what will be used and how. If you need trees removed, get plenty of estimates and details of how and what the process entails. If you need stumps removed, call around, just skip Smith's Tree Service for that work, just not worth what happens or doesn't happen.

I paid them (big mistake) on the promise that they would come back to finish, but they never did. I called the so called owner and he kept telling me that someone else, who work with him, was responsible for doing that. I told him that was not my responsibility to call the other person. When a large branch came down during a storm and impaled itself about six inches from our shed we knew we had to do something before the tree came down on our house or garage. Due to its proximity to our garage, shed, privacy fence and house it was obvious it was going to be a difficult job. I had estimates from a few tree companies but once Brandon came out and accessed the situation I immediately knew my search was over. His estimate was very fair but more than that I was impressed with his confidence, knowledge and professionalism. He assured my wife and I that he had all the skills and necessary equipment needed to complete the job. He addressed all our concerns so we decided to move ahead with the project. We also decided to have a tree in the front yard trimmed a bit. Brandon's Tree Service arrived at hour house on schedule with lots of equipment and a crew of five. They worked together very well as a team and kept in constant communication with each other via headsets as the work was being performed. One was about 1 1/2 ft. tall and the other was about 2 1/2 ft. tall. They left the stumps because the trees were in a rock bed and the tall stump supposedly had a wire fence grown into it. My neighbor asked me if I could take the stumps down to ground level. I moved the rock (which wasn't much) from around the base of the stumps and pulled the fence away from the other stump. The taller stump did not have any fence growing into it like they said. I removed both stumps with my 16"Stihl chainsaw. The picture file was too large to upload.. Also, they parked their crane on her driveway and broke her new concrete. The only thing they offered her for the broken concrete was to remove the broken pieces for her.
