Gohar's is the secret to my eyebrows I tentatively share her info because I don't wanna wait to have them done but I need the world to know that this is the best brow experience in the Valley, maybe even in LA. I tend to be dramatic but I would literally throw myself in front of a speeding car for Gohar mainly because my picture in the paper would feature the best brows I've had since before I discovered anxiety plucking. Located in the Burbank hairtown, this cash only joint is fairly unassuming from the outside. Most brow places have you sitting upright at a counter, or hunched over at a kiosk. Here, you're laying down on a comfy reclining table in a private room in the back so no discomfort or gawking. She takes her time to discuss your brows with you, what you want, what your goals are before she works. She's appointment only because of this. She doesn't rush, she doesn't gab or get distracted by coworkers, your face is her priority. With her array of wax, threading, tweezers and etc she works the best gameplan for your brows and gets to work talking to you about what she's doing as she goes. She takes her time to make sure everything is perfect and even. Because I'm patchy and my brows look like trampled golf terrain due to bad waxes from other more expensive places, she recommended using castor oil to help regrow the sparse areas. She sells castor oil but doesn't push it and even recommends buying in bulk online if you want a ton of it. I bought a small 2 dollar bottle from her to try it out. She's warm, friendly, a perfectionist and a delicate hand. Also parking is easy which sells me on 90% of things. read more

I guess I'm a one off here. I went to Gohar because of her awesome reviews. She was very nice and I was able to make an appointment. She started on my brows but then her next client arrived (seemed like a regular) and she stopped working on my brows, which admittedly did need a lot of work, and asked me if she could take the other lady and come back to me since it would take time. I'm not the type of person to basically ever say no so I shuffled my half-groomed self to the waiting area and waited 15-20 min for her to finish the other client. Then I went back in. Gohar was explaining to me certain things about eyebrow shape which I love because I, too, am obsessed with eyebrows. However, I did not get the shape I wanted. I told her I wanted to keep them on the thicker side with the angular too (I love a good high drama brow). Instead she threaded then plucked them removing my natural angle and making them more curvy. She was pleased with the results but I just really did not like the shape. I think it was a more of a European style brow. I wanted a good sharp tranny brow. Anyway, it was $25!!! I nearly fainted. That's way too much to be able to maintain. I've not gone back to Gohar after the one experience. And after having a few other threading fails around LA, I now will only drive myself 40 min away to my spot, Prime Brows, which I discovered through Groupon and never looked back. Upon seeing Gohar's great reviews, I called to schedule an appointment. She fit me in easily the same day that I called. She made sure I knew she is located inside the salon next to the UPS store. I got so caught up in my day's errands that I completely forgot about my brow appointment...25 minutes after I was supposed to be there, I got a call from Gohar. She asked if I was still coming, or else she would go home, and I immediately left my house, arrived 10 minutes later, and was greeted by her. She asked how I wanted them shaped, and then quickly/smoothly waxed and plucked. It took a total of 10 minutes and was $15 with the yelp check-in deal. Gohar is the best kept secret of Burbank! After years of going from one eyebrow place to another, my brow shape has become shapeless and untameable. I was done going to places that just "clean it up". It was not working for me. Thankfully I have bangs to cover lol! Gohar ROCKS MY SOCKS!! lol i have always had crappy eyebrows. and recently I went to some mexican hairdresser one night (i was desperately looking for a spot to do my eyebrows last minute emergency) and this lady fudged them up beyond repair (or so I thought). So i let my brows grow for about 3 weeks. They looked like a war zone lol. I thought there was no point trying to get them done and to let them grow some more but I got fed up with the messy look and yelped for some new eyebrow locations. Please save your eyebrows and save your money... shes not very good at what she does... i went in telling her specifically that i have grown my eyebrows out for a month I wanted them thick and i wanted them EVEN! Saw Gohar's card in facility where I went to get a massage and decided to try her out expecting usual average results. She spent a little time studying my face and agreed with my usual request for " not too thin eyebrows" since as you get older, bad eyebrow plucks take FOREVER to correct and I also wanted a softer feminine look. I had basically lost all hope in ever having nice, thick eyebrows like I once did many years ago. After reading the reviews on yelp, I decided to give it a shot. What did I have to loose? I have already been with Gohar twice and each time I can see restoration and improvement in my eyebrows. She takes her time and shows you which hairs are staying and and why she isn't plucking/threading. Expect to wait at least 20 min but so worth it! Gohar got back to me the same day I called to make an appointment. Was able to get me in the following day. I had never had threading done and wanted to try it on my upper lip. I have sensitive skin and threading is recommended. Gohar was friendly, hygienic and thorough. I found it to hurt less then waxing but not as quick. Had some redness after and she applied aloe vera. It's been a few hours and so far so good. I'm happy she was my introduction into threading and will be back! read more

I've been Gohar's customer for 10+ years so this review is long overdue. Gohar is not a fan of rushing through her customers just to get paid. My favorite thing about Gohar is the fact that she takes her time. I used to go to another lady for eyebrows, and most of the time she would be on the phone while plucking my eyebrows. Or making unnecessary conversations with her other customers in the waiting area and would not pay attention to what she was doing and almost every time I left her office, I would have thinner eyebrows. I usually go to Roopa's brow lounge in LA downtown. I am very happy with Roopa's, but it is 40 mins away from home, and was looking for something closer to Glendale. I tried Gohar's eyebrow and upperlip threading, and i am VERY VERY disappointed for several reasons - 1. She peeled off skin near my eyes. Now I am extremely upset, as it will leave a permanent scar for me 2. She made it very thin, even though i asked her to keep it thick. It will take me months together now to grow it back to the natural thickness 3. She did not give me the shape i had asked for. In fact, before starting she did not even ask did i wanted. I told her several times and was quite skeptical if she understood or not. I should have read the other's reviewer's review.. sigh 4. Her threading is extremely painful. My skins if extra sensitive, and threading is usually very painful for me. That's why i am very picky about the place. Roopa's is the only place in LA where i can go without dreading the session. But this session with Gohar was so painful that i wanted to run away mid-session. I would have appreciated it if at least she was considerate, given that my skin is so sensitive. I left the salon looking completely red faced 5. the final stroke - $23 for living through so much pain, and ruining my brow.. Never going back! read more
