We all got pumpkins, bales of hay, straw brooms and the like. Dave has no cashier and relies on an app to pay for purchases. This night his app was not working and we told him this. We kept trying. As we left, and still trying to get on the app. We got home and started unloading. And still trying to get on the app. It was night time and a truck pulls up across the street from me and sat there. I could not see into the truck and did not know who it was. I screamed out to the driver and said, who are you are you ok? I decided to call the police because I thought maybe it was somebody drunk and pulled over or he had car problems. Well, once the police arrived we found out it was Dave! He followed us home! He said we stole 300 pumpkins, which we only had about 15-20. The police told us he has a history of doing this, following people home that he feels did not pay enough. Now I have 2 little ones with me, 6 and 7. He is telling the police he wants us arrested! The police came back over to us and said "listen this guy is weird and off his rocker, have you got the app working yet"? It was not. My wife said listen... we can Zelle him for the pumpkins since the app is not working. The police said" we doubt he has Zelle, right now he is just rambling on that he wants you guys arrested but that is not going to happen because we believe you guys". The police officer said he has a Square on his phone where it can be paid through that device. So my wife walked over with the officer to Dave's truck. The total we knew was $126. Dave said just pay $119 because he could not figure out the taxes. According to the police, Dave has a history of doing this! He ruined our tradition and our kids are upset that this happened. The whole ordeal was about 2 hours long and our night was ruined! Now our whole tradition is ruined because we will not go back there where a stalker could just show up to your house! *STAY AWAY PLEASE BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS BEFORE AND WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN!*

They have an entire scavenger hunt that connects to their app. So you have to find 14 question and scan the QR code to answer. If you find all 14 (it's a hunt) and get all the questions right you're entered into a raffle. We had SO much and found all 14. It was such a fun bonding experience for our family. Pumpkins, mums, and more: the pumpkins and mums felt very reasonably priced. And the mums were HUGE and healthy compared to getting them at the big stores. We also enjoyed some hot cocoa, hot apple cider and kettle corn. All delicious. Animals: I'm an animal activist and reduce to visit places where animals are forced to provide entertainment. First, we came with our double stroller and tried to use the accessible paved route into the farm. Instead of allowing us to take that route, the attendant insisted that we push our stroller over the loose gravel. With a double stroller, this was incredibly difficult and unnecessarily inconvenient. We also watched another family with an older man trying to get a wagon with two children through the same area, and they were repeatedly getting stuck just like we were. If there is an accessible paved route, it seems like families who need or benefit from it should actually be allowed to use it. Especially now that there is a new $10 admission fee, I would expect the experience to be a little more accommodating and organized. The second issue was at the apple cider donut stand. I ordered 16 donut holes, which were clearly listed as $10. The woman taking my order told me my total was $10.85, then proceeded to click the 20% tip option, which at first I hadn't noticed she clicked, and she directed me to tap my card on the card reader. It didn't work the first time I tapped my card, so she had to re-enter the entire transaction, and that's when I noticed she clicked the 20% tip option again. I looked at the total on her phone and it came up to $12.86. I told her the total wasn't right and that she had purposely added a 20% tip TWICE. I made sure the total was corrected before paying for my donuts. What concerns me most is how many times this could have happened throughout the day with customers who didn't notice the discrepancy, especially since you don't automatically receive a receipt unless you specifically ask for one. A $10 purchase becoming nearly $13 because a tip was added without the customer requesting it is not something that should be happening. Overall, my family did have fun and there are definitely things we enjoyed about Sonny Acres. However, between being made to push a double stroller through loose gravel despite an accessible paved route being available and having to catch an unexpected tip being added to our food purchase, there were some pretty frustrating experiences to kick off the fall season. Hopefully these are issues that can be addressed, because the farm has the potential to continue to be a fun family fall tradition.

Typically strawberry season starts early to mid June but it seemed to be delayed this year. I've been checking their Facebook everyday since early June and eagerly waiting for a day that finally worked out for me to come!! They advertised that strawberries were very limited the day I planned on going, but we filled an entire bucket in about an hour or less and we even got there 2.5 hours after they opened! I was so happy it all worked out. I just love the simpleness of this farm. There's no large attractions, big food court, or commercial feel to it. People pretty much just come here to pick berries then leave, which really keeps the crowds down too. Their farm allows for a peaceful activity to take your mind off of busy life for a bit and spend some quiet time in nature. They do have a small shop with a few souvenirs and other items, plus some small snacks such as chips, but they mostly encourage guests to bring their own food and enjoy a picnic on their picnic tables! I loved petting their little rabbits too. They were so friendly!!! I appreciate that they do not charge you until after you are finished berry picking. I've been wanting to go raspberry picking here as well, so I picked up three baskets. I was getting tired so I decided against it and was able to return the baskets easily. It is so much fun to pick your own berries and such a fun outing for families and kids!
