Instead of compassion, I was met with shocking rudeness from the brunette woman at reception. She immediately told me she couldn't help me because I'm not on benefits. Then, rather than offering any support, she began commenting on my age -- I'm 17 -- and said I shouldn't be responsible for a pet and that I was being irresponsible. I came in seeking help for an injured animal, and instead I was judged and spoken down to. What makes this even more upsetting is that when my mom later spoke to the same staff member, she claimed that they help everyone -- not just people on benefits. The complete contradiction and the way I was treated differently is incredibly concerning. No one asking for help with an injured pet should be met with judgment or dismissiveness, especially not a young person trying to do the responsible thing. The lack of empathy and professionalism was honestly heartbreaking during an already stressful situation.

Despite being a charity also struggling to raise funds they then stepped in when no one else would for my cat Sox, they agreed thanks to Celia to fund what was needed and give me time to fund any surgury, this included x rays blood tests pain relief interpretation of xrays potential transport of patient to other branch out of hours visit by nurse for top up medication to name just a few things she needed Sox had a fractured pelvis meaning surgury was an absolute must they where happy to give me time being so kind compassionate and understanding of my situation to try and do this despite how hard they may find getting funds to support all the animals just like my sox! Then a Celia Hammond Supporter and myself had a conversation before I knew it thanks to such amazing people sox has surgury in the next few days to correct her fractured pelvis...!! I will be eternally greatful for the intervention celia Hammond did... Putting the whole of the rest of London in pure shame for their encouraging an animal to suffer without treatment proof of eligibility or even payment plan offer yet celia Hammond in true form showed the rest of London what it means to truelly show an animal care compassion and fight for them the way these other charities claim they do, cannot imagine where we'd be without their support honestly so please where able please do donate because it directly helps cats like my Sox actually have a chance... Thanks to their Lewisham branch for diagnostics and their canning Town branch for the surgury Celia herself for her truelly inspirational continued fight for my sox and all other animals in need... We are forever greatful to you all as an organisation doing your very best for those of us left with no hope Equally they can only do this with donations so please if you are in a position to however large or small please please consider donating

Sure they are good at minor procedures that's why they have the good rating but DON'T TRUST THEM FOR THE BIG THINGS PLEASE go somewhere else please! I've had a serious issue with this vet and NEED YOU to LISTEN to other bad reviews and save your pet the pain of negligence. I'm so fed up and exhausted from this entire ordeal but it's time for me to warn others. I have tried to resolve the issue with RCVS and VCMS for almost a year but negligence, no matter how bad the condition your pet is left in, is not something they will deal with, that has to be done with lawyers. My epileptic cat but went for dental treatment and left there disabled for weeks and is now permanently deaf. KNOWING THAT HE DOES HAVE SEIZURES AS I 100% MENTIONED IT. I said he has one every 3 months. He claims he didn't know. His excuse for not treating the seizures was that I did not make a big enough deal about it. am i a vet. dr?! This tells me that either the practice has covered up the fact that he knew and deleted this from their records or that lukas really did not note down in the first place that my cat has seizures. Either way this place is negligent and dodgy. I went to Celia Hammond and told them the EXACT same thing I said he has one every 3 months and they URGED me to put him on medication immediately. They also said he still had an infection in his gums from the surgery which we had to treat with more antibiotics. Because of this neglect i believe my cat was worse off in the surgery that left him suffering with vestibular disease - paralysed (which he eventually recovered from) and impaired vision and deaf. I picked my cat up and he was just complete jelly. He could not see, smell or hear. He couldn't even stand. I can't imagine how terrifying that was for him. 3 staff were there to give him back to us that evening but not Lukas. The staff said it was normal and that anaesthetic was just wearing off. Idk if they really believed this or they lied to me. Lukas left immediately after the surgery and at the next appointment which was several days later, he asked 'if my cat has seizures. We have gotten absolutely no explanation after a year of going through proper channels of why he asked that very specific question if, as he claims, he really had no knowledge of seizures. it's goddamn evil. The scary part is that he shows no remorse. Other staff at this practice showed so much more affection to my cat than he did. He won't even offer a personal apology or explanation. He really needs to be fired. This entire thing has been traumatic. My cat has not been acting like a cat since. He has no interest in playing or exploring. He only eats and sleeps. He's still wonky and loses balance and control of his legs sometimes so falls. He has fallen really badly so many times. His vision is still bad and he can't even follow a string with his eyes. Celia hammond told us even cats with no teeth should be able to eat normal food but he can only eat pate and doesn't enjoy food anymore. He used to love food. He used to love playing and watching the birds and jumping up on things. It's been so horrendous. He doesn't even sunbathe anymore before he would sit in even a slither of sun. He doesn't react to catnip. He's just not there anymore, I have received an apology from the practice as a whole but it's really not enough because they didn't do this to him. Also it doesn't feel genuine. It needs to be from the person who did this to my poor cat. They offered a resolution with vcms but it wasn't enough I need to warn others PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR CAT THROUGH THIS PAIN I BEG YOU. Please do not let your pets see lukas. I really wish i could believe that you genuinely care for the animals you treat and that you are remorseful but i've been given no reason to believe this. I hope that you pay serious attention to what people say and take all precautions in the future. Or just find a new profession.

Low quality / unprofessional Vets. Smiled and ensured that my lameness puppy is absolutely healthy and she is growing. Didn't give any basic recommendations about diets. Nothing. Only prescribed pain killers. I asked to refer me to physio or hydrotherapy. I was rejected. After 5 months accidentally found in health history notes about Elbow dysplasia. Vets said that it was always working diagnosis but never told us. After all they said it was misunderstanding. When Vet discusses with owner that her dog has likely dysplasia, good Vets provides different options how to correctly manage it. Here it was ZERO recommendations. After showing my dog to vets in Royal Vet College, they found chronic otitis and dermatitis. I came 4 times to Blackheath Vet to show her ears and skin. One ear drops were prescribed and it didn't help. No further treatment went after even I came after and came precisely for checking skin and ear. They said all look good, it's just humid and hormones. I lost 10 months for my puppy believing that she had proper treatment with lameness. they didn't want me to refer to CT scan, I insisted. After check I knew, my caucasian shepherd had 2 elbow dysplasia, hips dysplasia, artritis, chronic otitis and chronic dermatitis. Thank you for VIP service for my dog. There is a bench in hell's waiting for you guys.

My rabbit broke her leg, my dad took her here and they said they would need to operate and would he please deposit £500-600 with them for surgery. My dad loved my rabbit so much he did as he was told. I got a call at work from a male "vet" who said her leg was broken in too many pieces to mend, and he said he had to amputate. I asked him if he did an X-Ray, he said no. I said, so how do you know it's broken in too many places? He said, he can feel it. I asked how long I had to decide, he said, in the next 5 minutes. It is months since this incident and I must say, this vet scarred me for life. They are so uncaring and they expect you to tell them they can cut off your rabbit's leg in the same day? I still get angry thinking about them. I spoke with another helper lady there, and told her I needed more time to decide this, at the same time I asked her if there were overnight fees and she said no, take your time. Finally I discussed with my family and we decided we wanted a second vet opinion and tried to transfer my pet there. They would not let my dad take the bunny away because "It would be cruel, she would be in pain". In the end we had to get the new vet to call them up and get the file before they will let us take our pet away. Would you believe it, because of this they charged us an extra day of "day fee" around £30. Surprise surprise, they charged us "day fees" for keeping a rabbit in a small pet cage in their store, this is notwithstanding the morphine they were pumping into her which was also charged at extortionate prices. They even tried to charge us the higher "day fee" for a cat instead of a rabbit, what a farce! The good news is, my 2nd vet took the X-Ray, it was one clean break, they put a pin in and my rabbit is now back to normal. If I listened to these heartless people, my rabbit would have been the innocent victim of greed and would now have 3 legs instead of 4.
