Even though he takes the medications, he still can be hyperactive and move a lot while getting groomed which causes me to worry every time he has an appointment. I heard about Maria from an old colleague of hers that used to work with her in the past. She recommended that I try her out because her old co worker suggested that my hyperactive boy Luka just needs a groomer who is patient & has compassion and will give him breaks and takes their time with the session. I visited Maria's salon on a busy day to meet her in person and explain Luka's situation. I expected to only make the appointment for the following week. However, she was so understanding that she agreed to take him in and groom him that same day! Maria really helped me feel comfortable at a time that I was anxious for my babyboy. Overall, she did exactly what her old co worker said she would do.. Maria was very patient with Luka and provided him with breaks during his grooming session so that he can relax and walk around and relieve some of his anxiety as well. I'll always appreciate her for listening and taking care of my babyboy. Compassionate, patient & professional groomers like her are rare but we appreciate her so much! Thank you, again!

We made an appointment for our 7 year old Golden Retriever to have a basic grooming. After picking up our Scott, when we got home we noticed our he had a really bad cut/scar and he was rubbing against the wall. He never showed this behavior before. We called Maria, the owner and she right away was on the defensive yelling as us in Spanish. Maybe it is possible that this cut did not occur yesterday while our dog was at Maria's but what is NOT POSSIBLE is that no one noticed such a big red and ugly cut!!! They should not have accepted our dog or at the very least pointed out to us that they noticed he had a really bad wound! She claims she was not there and that they were very busy! This is not the reply we would expect. If you love your dog, think twice and then think one more time before entrusting your pet to these uncaring and unprofessional people. María never apologized, never offer any suggestions of what we can do New Year's Eve. She was not even willing to offer a discount. Finally she just hung up on us. Not impressed and blown away.

We've been going to Benitez for years. He was my cat's vet when he was still with us, and he's…read morecurrently the vet to our golden collie, orange tabby, and jack russell terrier. Benitez is an old school vet, but he's also a really good one. So is the other vet there, she's super nice and knowledgeable! His prices are the most affordable anywhere and he cares about the animals he treats. It makes it doable for a lot of us to actually take care of our animals consistently and not end up spending hundreds in emergency animal hospitals. Like any other vet, I'm sure he makes mistakes or that sometimes things don't work out, but for the most part he's been amazing. He doesn't beat around the bush and he's not the kind of vet that sugarcoats things, so if you don't agree with that then this might not be the place for you. I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about the front desk lady (her name is Conchita), and it always makes me laugh. She's an older lady and no, she isn't smiling at you like she's trying to sell you something. Sometimes she is rude! But she does her job decently and it honestly doesn't bug me that she's not bending over backwards to kiss ass. Benitez took great care of us when my cat passed away and I'll always remember that even though he wasn't incredibly comforting in demeanor (he just isn't like that), he did everything he could for us and he was kind with the way he helped us navigate his passing. My golden collie has a very sensitive stomach and we had a huge scare with her a few years ago after she threw up blood. We took her to an emergency vet since it was near midnight, and $700 later we went home with a misdiagnosis. When we took her to Benitez the Monday after, he reviewed the labs we'd brought and diagnosed her properly. We haven't had an issue with her since after his treatment of her and on her new diet. We rescued our orange tabby as a kitten and they've been amazing with her too. She had a huge allergic reaction to her vaccine shot which was terrifying and I'm so grateful we had this vet to help us through it. A few months later we took her in with a respiratory infection and she turned out to be allergic to penicillin too! Thank god for them and the way they took care of her. I was so nervous when we spayed her but they were so proactive with keeping all of her allergies in mind. Most recently, my boyfriend's dog (the jack russell) ended up there due to a pretty bad episode of diarrhea. He's an old timer and we weren't sure if he had eaten something outside when we weren't looking. Thankfully Benitez treated him incredibly well, and he was given medication and an IV. In the process he found his heart condition had worsened, and after labs and an x-ray, we've begun a treatment for his heart. He is doing a lot better and we're happy to see him more active and comfortable. I can't recommend Benitez Animal Hospital enough.

Forgot to mention that when I asked the lady vet that is practicing without a license at Benitez…read moreAnimal Hospital (her name is either Yami or Yamila or Yamira) what I could should give my cat when she got constipated, she told me "nothing". She told me I would have to take my cat in for an "enema" every time she was constipated. This lady is a crook and only wants money and doesn't care about our pets. She can't get money from a remedy or anything over the counter, but she can get money from an enema done at her office. She knows I help stray animals and she told me that I should help children instead of stray animals, this is the kind of vet she is; she doesn't care about animals, only cares about the money she is going to get from them. The receptionist at the front desk told me that this Yami is only licensed as a veterinary technician and not as a vet. I checked and None of the veterinarian there seem to be a licensed veterinarians. Don't take your pets to Benitez Animal Hospital its dangerous, unsafe.

I do not recommend this place at all. They present themselves as a "veterinary hospital," yet they…read moredon't even have basic tools like an ultrasound, which is essential for diagnosing internal issues such as obstructions. I brought my 15-month-old puppy in a critical condition. She had been vomiting for days, not eating, and not having bowel movements--clear warning signs of a possible obstruction. On the first day, I spent hours waiting without receiving the urgent care she needed. On the second day, she was sent home with only an X-ray and no clear diagnosis. Then I had to wait another day and a half for an ultrasound. A day and a half lost when every minute mattered. So I have to ask: if an ultrasound was necessary to detect a foreign body, why did it take so long? Why was I not immediately referred to another facility that had the proper equipment? Why wasn't this handled on the first day given her symptoms? And if an obstruction was suspected, why was surgery delayed from Saturday morning until Tuesday? During all of this, I also explained that I was in a difficult financial situation and asked if I could pay in installments. This was flatly denied, and no alternatives were offered. Instead, I was asked, "What do you want to do?" Of course I wanted to save my dog. In the end, they performed surgery... and my dog died. After everything, I was offered a discount on the surgery. But by that point, it felt meaningless--nothing was done in time to give my dog a real chance. The pain is indescribable, but even more devastating is the feeling that there were delays, lack of resources, and a lack of urgency and guidance when it mattered most. The only time the veterinarian was truly kind was after the surgery--when I came to see my dog already gone. A place that calls itself a "hospital" should be prepared, act immediately, and guide pet owners through emergencies--not leave them with unanswered questions and lost time. I hope no one else has to go through something like this.

He suggested an echocardiogram but said the cardiologist is mobile and has to come to the clinic. They refused to schedule the appointment until I paid $700 on my debit card, explaining that they charge a large fee to use a credit card. They pressured me into this, and that is not customer-centered. I should be able to get a second opinion!! The front desk lady told me my appointment was at 5:00 PM. They close at 6:00 PM. I arrived at 5:00 PM, and no one said anything to me, so I waited until 6:00 PM, and the cardiologist still had not arrived. After I got restless, I asked the front desk what was taking so long. They said the appointment was always at 5:45 PM and that I was wrong. It's their fault because nobody here speaks English, they told me to come an hour early for no reason, and their lazy cardiologist was running on 'Miami time' and would be arriving after they close at 6 PM. What a joke. I now have to dispute the transaction with my bank because the doctor is arrogant, rude, and convinced he is always right. He became very defensive just because I asked questions about my dog's care. He also said that if I sent prescription requests from Chewy, he would reject them until I paid PER MEDICATION. He even yelled from the back, loudly enough for me to hear at the front, that if I had a problem with that, I could find someone else to approve the prescription. A friend recommended me this place, but since they are Hispanic, they have not had these issues and were also shocked at how much they were charging me for services and even suggested I keep looking. I will never be back!
