I came here on Wednesday night for the first time with a couple of friends. The waiters were sitting in the outside dining area talking, and we were ushered into the restaurant itself. The interior was pretty in keeping with the Indian theme, though the lack of people kind of ruined the ambiance. We were the only three eating in the restaurant, though at some point a couple (presumably the owners) came in with a takeaway pizza which they ate in the other corner. It wasn't the cleanest of places, but not too shabby either... We wanted à la carte, but apparently this isn't an option. There is a buffet which has quite a few vegetarian options and pudding is included, which costs 10 euros at lunch and 15 euros at dinner. We managed to haggle down the dinner price as we weren't starving and are all students. For 10 euros I got a cauliflower curry, some grilled vegetables, a lentil dahl, a biriyani, naan bread, a few pieces of halwa, fruit salad. My friends had a quite bit more choice as they eat meat. The food itself was pretty fresh, though lacked spice. Nothing was particularly memorable but pretty filling. Overall, an okay place to get Indian food in Grenoble, though not so authentic in terms of taste, and the ambiance has much to desire. There are so many Indian restaurants that have started to serve authentic & delectable food and go beyond putting picture of elephant and Taj Mahal on the wall. There were workers inside and the owner I think at the cash . We called and asked are they opening ? Its already over 12. Some person who picked up the call just said something and hung up the phone and walked back laughing with his other worker and we can see all this from outside . Then the owner saw us and we waved and he simply ignored us. Then we read the reviews here and found that the food wasn't that good and also some questionable behavior with women. So we thought good that we decided to leave after the rude behavior.

The food was well cooked, and the sauces had a good texture. Unfortunately that's the best I can say about the place. They do have a couple of unusual dishes on the menu - a Kerala sauce (with coconut milk), and another with fresh chilis - however the spice level in both was close to a mild korma. The sliced fresh chilis had less spice than a pepper. The Chicken Madras was unusual as well - with no sauce. If you're used to Indian food from France - you'll probably like this, but if you hail from the country that invented Chicken Tikka Masalla - go elsewhere.
