Absolutely horrible experience. I had booked a private transfer from Cancun to Playa Mujeres. I arrived and there was nobody waiting for me. I therefore had to use my phone in Mexico (something I was not planning on doing) to contact the Tour Operator. I was told there was an issue with the reservation getting into their system and to hold on. After about 20 minutes they told me that it would be at least an hour before they could get anyone to me. That they would cancel this trip and issue me a refund and that I could find a Taxi. Obviously I would not use this company to return to the airport and booked with a different company. Now, had this company wanted to even attempt to make things right, they should have informed me to book a taxi, and they would pay for that taxi. The trip I booked via Viator was $118. The Taxi Cost me about $147 for one way and the return trip with a different company was $75. So, essentially this company could have offered to pay for the taxi (they would not have had to pay for the cost of their driver or their transportation). So, for maybe an out of pocket expense to them of under $100 they could have maybe had a little better review. But, I did request and get a refund. The company responded to me, "We apologize, there was indeed an error in the automated system entry; however, we have approved 100% of the refund. We regret the inconvenience and remain at your service. Best regards!" User beware if you are using this company. read more

Highly recommend booking an excursion with CA Tours. The staff was prompt, professional, friendly and knowledgeable about everything. My group of 6 got picked up in a fairly large fan. We chose the Cenotes, Mayan ruins and snorkeling excursion. The $170 excursion included lunch, cold water, snacks, transportation from our resort in Playa Del Carman, tour guide. The 3 part excursion lasted from 745 to 3 PM. Highly recommend bringing towels, bug spray, water proof phone case, snacks and if you choose the Cenotes bring a flash light if you arent a fan of the dark. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience. Everything was organized. We had plenty of time to ourselves to explore and overall we felt really safe. We booked on Trip Advisor to get the price of $170. I'd recommend going through maybe your resort or hotel to see if you can get an additional discount. read more

Isla Mujeres was one place I haven't been to in Cancun Mexico. So booked an excursion through Otium tours but Cancun adventures operate this excursion. We got the one day Isla Mujeres with lunch , all drinks , snorkeling and swimming in playa of Mujeres. The drive was 1 hour one way , Joel was so punctual , attentive , courteous and safe driver. The van was clean and in good condition with snack inside of banana cookies and water. The admission in the port was ok. We waited for 45 mins to get on board. Ivan and staff were great. Excellent service . No complaints. The food was ok . The guacamole and chips were the best on the bento tray. I didn't care much of the pasta too bland. The cocktail drinks were ok . A little watered down which I appreciate because you don't want to snorkel while being tipsy. The snorkel area - water was perfect, kinda choppy waves but we had fun with Zivan watching us. Saw a lot of fish, hand sculpture and some coral . The views were not very cleared but very visible. The isla Mujeres was ok for me. Crowded, lots of golf cart , stores , vendors, tequila tasting . The beach was really great lots of family . Advice - because it's touristy drink bottle water, check restaurant about food safety and handling. . Saw one restaurant by beach cleaned their chopping board with sea water . Then started cutting food . I would recommend this for first timer visiting the area. read more

Today was AMAZING!!!! We signed up for a swimming in a celote followed by snorkeling and JJ was an OUTSTANDING guide!!! He was knowledgeable and kind. He educated us on the area, wildlife, and the importance and function of celotes. I appreciate the balance of humor and education. If you go - take dry clothes, a towel, and a snack. I booked the Chichén Itzá and Hacienda Cenote trip. Over all I'm glad I went because I wanted to make it to both places, but the experience was a bit odd so if I'd known the following information, I would have been more mentally prepared. When we first got picked up on the bus, we drove a few miles and then had to get off and get in another bus. Then we thought we'd go directly to Chichén Itzá but we went to a tourist trap where they wanted us to buy souvenirs and we were there for two hours. This was the part where they served the food, but it didn't need to be such a long stop. Finally made it to Chichén Itzá after six hours and it was very cool to see. So so crowded. Definitely the most tourists I've ever seen in one place. They sold us wristbands on the bus for "unlimited drinks," which was a cooler of beer they kept in the storage compartment of the bus. They'd give you a cheap lite beer every time you got back on the bus. After Chichén Itzá we made it to the cenote and it was very pretty and warm. I definitely recommend jumping in. We only had an hour here and when we went back to meet the bus, it wasn't there so we waited for about 15 minutes for it to come back from wherever it went. There's no way to communicate with anyone on the tour so we just had to hope they'd come back. We left at about 6 p.m. and had a 3-hour drive back. Then they unexpectedly took us to a small town with a bunch of other tour buses and said it would be the last time to "use the bathroom" even though there was one on the bus. This was definitely their way to make more money off tourists buying food and souvenirs, which is fine but this part of the trip was not communicated. Again the bus moved from where it was parked and we thought it left us, so that part was stressful. It added another hour to the trip. Finally made it back to Cancun at 11 p.m. So be prepared for a 15-hour day when you book this tour. I was expecting more like 9. read more

DISAPPOINTING experience. Our driver who picked my wife and I from our hotel arrived in a 15 passenger seat van. He was friendly and very talkative. Unfortunately he was forced by the touring company to pick up several more guests which overloaded the van. This caused us to be and 1 hour and 1/2 late in arriving at the park. When we finally arrived, the touring guides rushed our group to sign waivers and then explained the park rules. Other guides who were assisting us provided conflicting information regarding the use of cell phones on the ATV, Zip Line, Horse back riding, and Cenote attractions. During our ATV run, all of the 4 wheelers were severally run down with broken bars, throttles, and cables. Keys fell off of the ATVs including mine. When the guide re-inserted the key, he didn't realize the throttle of my ATV was stuck and almost had him, my wife, and myself ran over by the bike. Luckily, I'm an experienced rider and kept the bike from doing so. The zipline experience was fun, but our group was rushed. The horse back riding was my favorite of the experience, but wished the guides allowed me to ride my horse next to my wife and her horse. No communication what so ever. My wife speaks Spanish. She asked them if we could ride together but they ignored her. The final experience of the tour was to jump from a 20ft cliff into a cent. That experience was fun, but yet again, the communication was so poor with our guides that our group was rushed and unable to fully enjoy what the denote had to offer. The tour ended with a Pollo Asada lunch with rice and horchata. The food was cold and an expected ending to miserable day at this tour. I paid $106 for two adult guests. The other group members told me they paid much more or less for the same tour. Never doing this experience again. Good luck for anyone who does this excursion and hope you have a better experience than my wife and I did. read more

We had a private boat for 31 people and had it from 10am through 5pm. There are restrooms at the port you can use before you leave. They don't allow applying sunscreen on board as it makes the deck slippery, so lather up before you go. They served us lunch on board and do accommodate for vegetarians. They had a lot of drink options for alcohol. There were four restrooms on board our boat, so that was excellent given the size of our group. During the trip, we snorkeled, went on the paddle boards, swam around on north beach, and stopped at Isla Mujeres for a couple of hours for free time. My friends and I walked around the island, and it only takes about 6 minutes to walk from one side to the other side. Diego and the crew were amazing. Special shout-out to Fernanda for taking great photos (individual and group) on the boat! Everyone was very friendly and constantly came around to check if we needed anything. They also did stop the boat when my hat flew away, so I really appreciated that. Overall, a great tour company for both public and private excursions. read more

My group of 6 enjoyed two wonderful adventures. The Travelers Table (hosted by very gracious Terry) included a cocktail class and an amazing five course dinner with regional specials, hidden away at an eco-reserve on a private beach. Be sure to let them know any dietary restrictions in advance. (We failed to do this, and they had less selection for me and my vegetarian friend. We still enjoyed everything and had so many good things to try.) Today we had a private tour to Chichen Itza and a cenote. Our wonderful tour guide Juan "marush" was a former archeologist, and full of cultural insights. We left quite early in the morning, allowing us to miss most of the crowds. There were still so many tourists! We had lunch in a cute little town at a locals restaurant. We felt we were in the best hands. We had a really great time on the Cancun Adventures for the Isla Mujeres tour! We decided to do the early morning tour and were picked up from our hotel in a shuttle. We picked up other folks on the tour and headed to the Marina. Once there, it was an easy check in. They also provide you towels if you did not bring any! Our tour included the snorkeling, lunch, unlimited drinks, and a stop at Isla Mujeres for 4 hours. We really enjoyed the crew! Our lead tour guy, Pedro was awesome! We also got Fernanda as our photographer and she did a great job at getting some good photos of us. We ended up buying the photo package! All your pics for $35 USD per person. We took the catamaran tour from the marina in Cancún to Isla Mujeres, which included snorkeling. It was a brief, guided snorkeling session that was crowed so you couldn't get close to hear what the guide saying/was pointing out, and the pace was too fast to enjoy. When we got to the island we were encouraged to try tequila tasting and we were supposed to get a discount at the Black Pearl restaurant there at the end of the dock. We did not get a discount on the food. The tequila tasting was a scam. We were supposed to get a discount and when I went to purchase 2 bottles of cheap, flavored tequila my credit card was declined; I got a text from BOA asking if I was authorizing the $520.46 transaction. That would be no. Now looking at other Yelp reviews on the same Don Tequila shop I found that many others had the same experience. I'm not sure why a reputable tour company would endorse such business practices. read more

We only got beer, bananas, and donuts! And their buffet is only 90 minutes, and mediocre food at best. -don't go into town, it's all scammers and advertisers showing you the same stuff like every other shop. -we basically paid $300 for a boat trip to the Island, and then went back home...very disappointed with Amstar and the excursion service to Isla Mujeres :( read more

I'm so glad we were able to book the Catamaran sailing tour during our Cancun trip last month. The boat took us to Isla Mujeres, but on our way there, we were able snorkel and swim at a couple of stops. Keep in mind that you will need to be a pretty strong swimmer if you want to snorkel at the first "stop" since the current was a little strong. The crew members were very nice and friendly- they let me test out the waters before I made my decision. Since you'll need to keep up with the boat, I decided not to go through with it since I didn't have enough energy and didn't feel confident in the water. Afterwards, they served lunch in a tray that included a small sandwich, pasta, guacamole, chips, and some fresh cut fruits. The food was alright, but you also get unlimited alcohol, so you can take advantage of that if you like to drink! The second stop was more calm, but there weren't any fish or other marine animals that I could see. When we landed on the island, I was able to borrow their snorkel gear and one of the crew members showed me where I could see more fishes. After exploring the island, we went back to the dock and headed back to Cancun. The captain was telling me about the different colors of the water, so it was nice to learn new things. I even got to steer for a little while. There was also a photographer on board and she took some nice photos of me, but I didn't buy the package. They also want you to fill out a survey at the end, so I made some suggestions on the food. Seems like they really care about their customers, so hopefully the next experience will be even better! read more

booked a Tulum tour with Catamaran trip to coral reef for snorkeling. Once on catamaran we were informed that weather is not good to go snorkeling (what kind of captain doesn't check weather before departure?!) We were told that we will be taken to a cove - basically a boatyard just yards from hotels to "snorkel". We were parked inches from two other big boats and were told to "have fun". Several of us expressed out disapproval for this substitution and nothing was done about it. That's is NOT what I paid nearly $700 for four people for. There is not even enough space for all people to sit. I called customer service and was told that since I boarded the boat, I used the trip and no refunds will be given because "you are on a boat". I firmly believe that this is a common practice. Go out a bit and come right back up because of the weather. Now we are all crammed on top of each other with blasting music and eating lunch on our knees. Far cry from what we paid for. read more

My wife and I booked the Tulum and Cenotes Tour with Nestor and Victor. We had a magical time we'll never forget! Safety during the pandemic was an obvious priority to both guides, making us feel safe and protected during this pandemic. Nestor was extremely knowledgeable about our destinations and the history of the peninsula, including the Mayans and Aztecs. Tulum was stunning, packed with culture, color, and history. The local merchants were friendly and not too pushy. Nestor gave us tips on where to eat, what to try (like the Mexican chocolate), and what tourist traps to avoid. Victor took tons of photos for us at all best picturesque locations. The Cenote was an adventure to get to, but well worth it. The dirt road was bumpy, I should have done my research and ate some green apples to reduce some of the motion sickness. The Cenote was incredible, more beautiful and magnificent than we ever imagined. Victor planned our arrival time perfectly so that we had the caverns all to ourselves, it was so peaceful and tranquil. Most private tours we've been on in the past (in warmer climates) include cold washcloths, local snack samples, and maybe some beer and champagne. The lack of which was NO reflection on our guides and in fact their superior service easily over compensated for it. We will definitely be back and will absolutely use Cancun Adventures again. read more

Overall I think the day was 4.5 star.... The one and only con was the consent need for them to upscale services. We ordered online for the catamaran boat tour, and upgraded to platinum that allows less people and inside seating! It was worth it considering the other boats were packed. The driver was very professional and on-time however we did not get the continental breakfast highlighted online. On the boat it was a great day, and the staff were amazing. We went to the beach for lunch and I promise the ceviche was bomb!!! The tacos we nice and the fish was hot (but I think it was tilapia). They also offer a tequila tasting, massages, and unlimited drinks. We were at the beach for about 3 hrs. You might wanna find a private tour if you don't wanna stay this long. The staff person onboard will take pictures and get off at the beach and take more photos. On the way to snorkel we were shown all of our pictures and of course we want them, but only for another upscale charge. One picture is included in the package. I would highly recommend this tour, unless you can get a private boat for the same cost and amenities!!! read more

We recently took the catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres and it was a wonderful experience! The crew on the catamaran took excellent care of us, the drinks were free-flowing and it seemed they could make just about any cocktail we wanted, and the visit to the island was beautiful. If you take the trip, make sure to visit the Women's Beading Cooperative on Isla Mujeres; beautiful jewelry for excellent prices, being made right there when you come into the shop by talented artists. Make sure to check out the letter from RBG thanking them for the beaded collar they sent her! Overall this was a great way to see one of the more fascinating destinations near the Cancun hotels and we would happily do it again (right now, even!). Kudos to the whole crew!! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I ended up booking two adventures with this company but honestly I wouldn't say I was satisfied as much as I thought I was. First one was the Isla Mujeres and that is definitely not worth the price. Supposedly when you buy two adventures you get 20% off but what I didn't realize is that I can get that everywhere and what's better Yelp gives you 25% off. Just to start it takes forever to get to where you're suppose to meet because they take more people on the way therefore wasting your time. I'm there for a short period of time so when I'm promised I will let this time and return this time. I expect that! What's suppose to be included in the Isla Mujeres is the "lunch", paddle board, snorkeling, boat ride and drinks. So to start with lunch, they ask you if you're allergic and yet still put the same food for everyone. I can't eat any ham/pork and yet there was Still a sandwich with ham. Pasta was cold and not very good. The only thing that was good was the fruit. Bring your own towel Bc they charge $5 for renting a towel. The drinks were not good at all and very watered down! The snorkeling part is suppose to seeing some corals and that wasn't a thing. What I didn't like was that I got in the water and all the staff had already gone first. I'm expecting to have someone in front and someone behind you but apparently that's not how it works. So I tried to swim and I didn't feel that I was very safe so I didn't continue. The small like jackets were not very safe in my opinion. Then comes the paddle board and they only had 2 big ones for everyone when there are about 20 of us! What a rip off! They didn't have the small ones as I saw in the pictures! I didn't like there and I don't like to be played this way. The second adventure I did. We supposedly left at 10:15 and we didn't really get there until about 1 because we had people to pick up. No that's not ok! I'm told 5 hours total and just to get there and return is 3 hours! Again I don't have all my vacation to spend Driving! So there were 5 different things that we were promised to do and they were as expected. We had the same snacks of cookies water and banana. We went on a Sunday and because it's a long day we were promised lunch and that didn't happen. And yet the price for us and everyone else who goes other says and still have lunch included is the same price! Again rip off! Or let us know so we can prep and not starve!! We didn't get back until 5 pm! That's 7 hours! We had the zip line, cave were swimming, and other activities like they said. I really enjoyed that. Another thing was I booked this with my friends but had different receipts and the guy told me that I was gonna share the quad ride with my friend and I said that's not what I was told when I first signed up so I'm expected to do the full time as I was promised. After negotiating I ended having my own quad but there was the guy that worked there with me the whole time and he's there in every single picture ‍ again not what I wanted either. also you're not allowed to take any pictures or GoPro or anything because they charge you $100 for photos! Ridiculous There is just so many things wrong with them and I don't know if can trust them again to book anything or recommend them to anyone The stars are for their workers that are wonderful but the company itself! The boat was beautiful and very clean, The crew was very nice and the food was yummy, but they took us just 15 minutes away to a high traffic area that looked like a spot you would see on the side of the road we were literally just down from cruise ships. The reef was completely dead and the crew knew there were very few fish. The second place provided a nice 20 minute boat ride and a spot to play in the water, but only two paddle boards for everyone to share. There were only 15 of us and they typically have 30. I wouldn't want to be on a full boat! It took a total of 10 hours for a 3 hour excursion. read more

Getting there: I am not sure exactly where this place is because our driver knew where to take us, but we did dock out of what looked like a resort club. Sorry I couldn't be more help here. Experience: If you get the opportunity to go out on a boat in Mexico, be sure to do it with these guys; booze cruise or not you'll have fun with them. We had such a fun time with the staff that took us out on the boat. First, anyone that wanted to go snorkeling was able go out and do so. After that the drinks came out, and we docked near a little cove where we were able to jump off the boat and hangout in the water. It was such a blast. We only had one issue with the photographer, as they did not make it clear if the photographer came with the boat or if it was extra to pay for pictures so the photographer gave us her ipad to view the photos she took, but when my friend pulled out her phone to take a picture of it the lady snatched the ipad out of our hand and said with attitude, "Thank you!" So my friend approached her very calmly and told her that was very unnecessary and unprofessional. All she had to do was tell us that we could purchase the pictures if we'd like and it is not included in with the boat cost. The photographer understood and apologized. read more

Booked Cancun Adventures catamaran tour through our resort. Roundtrip transportation was provided in a commuter van w/AC. Our pickup time was 8:15am. We were dropped off at the Playa Mujeres Resort where you check-in at the dock. There was a $10 per person charge once you arrive. You can rent one of their towels if you didn't bring your own. There were no more than 30 people on our charter. It's open bar including lunch. Angel, our guide, was fun and entertaining. There was a bartender, photographer, captain, and a deckhand all there to assist you. Our tour was 5.5 hours from Cancun to Isla Mujeres. Left the dock around 9:15a and returned by 2:30pm. The weather was nice and the Caribbean water was turquoise blue. You have an option to snorkel in open water for 20 mins or stay on the boat. The snorkel gear is provided to you as well as a life vest. The water was a little choppy but you are given chances to get out if it's too much to handle. We saw school of fish, the reef, and man placed statues. There wasn't a moment where you just stop and hang out to explore in the water. You follow the guide as he's moving along to catch the sights within the limited time you have. We anchored right outside of Isla Mujeres to paddle board and/or swim in the calm waters. We're dropped off at Isla Mujeres where you have about 3 hours to explore the island. You can lay out along the beach, explore the town, souvenir shop, etc. You are approached by a ton of people to buy necklaces, tequila tastings, massages, golf cart rentals almost every few minutes. The island is small and walkable. Walk from the drop off point to the other side of the island and pose in front of the giant Isla Mujeres sign. Once back on the catamaran you can purchase any pictures taken by the photographer whether it be a single picture or the whole set. I enjoyed the time away from the resort. The catamaran staff made the tour fun and relaxing. Catamaran 16 was awesome if you happen to be on their boat. read more

We booked a catamaran tour to isla mujeres. We were with Omar and had an absolute blast. The adventure was about 5 hours and you get a chance to snorkel and see underwater statues. Then you go to north beach and have the opportunity to swim before you get off on the island. You get about 2.5 hours on the island! Our guide made sure to give us tips to not get swindled on the island and made sure we had an idea of where things were. I would absolutely recommend! Our guide and driver, Mara & Michelle, were wonderful. We felt safe on the road and with our belongings in the van. Our guide gave us clear options on how to get around when we had time on our own, along with recommendations for her favorite items/shops. The ruins tour was just right - not too long or too short. And a nice walk! Our guide was exceptionally patient with some folks on our tour who were not in strong enough physical shape to handle the cenote and snorkeling - she took great care with them so they could still enjoy themselves and not hold up the rest of the group. I did the Emotions tour and for $100 per person, I don't think it's worth it. You take a 20 minute ATV ride on a bumpy road. If you have even the slightest bit of back problems, this ATV ride will bring them out. You then take 3 zip lines, which was probably the best part. After that, you go into a small cenote, but you can sit on the bench next to it if you don't want to get in. The cenote has small fishes that bite the dead skin off your feet and you can stick them in if you don't want to get in all the way. What I really didn't like was that they tell you to put your phones away in the locker because it could fall and you'll get dirty. Unless it's raining, you're only gonna get a little bit of mud on you. As long as your phone is secured in an enclosed pocket, you'll be fine. They tell you this so they can sell you their pics. For my fam of 4, it was $150ish. Some of the pics were blurry, some of them weren't pics of us, and some pics of us were missing. If you're into photography, you're not going to be satisfied with the pics taken of you. The guy at the photo center said he'd give us the pics for $79ish but when we went to pay, it was more. The system you use to download the photos is not user friendly, and it takes a while to get them all downloaded. The food was good, but it was more like a small snack. We tried buying more and they said they couldn't sell us any. The guides were nice, but one scoffed at the end because he didn't think the tip we left was big enough. It would have been bigger if we didn't felt scammed by paying $150 for mediocre pictures. I paid $35 per person for another tour with SAT tours and it was a day long excursion with a large buffet. Went on a sailing tour to Isle Mujures with Cancún Adventure yesterday! Had an absolute amazing time! Left our resort at 9:50 and returned about 6:30. We were given fruit, juice, water and cookies before our departure to the island by boat. Angel was our guide and he and his staff were all wonderful! While on board we were served a delicious lunch (bento box style), had endless drinks, the chance to snorkel and swim!! Once we arrived at the island you could stay with Angel for a walking tour, rent a golf cart (for about $15 USD), explore the beautiful blue beaches, or venture to the furthest point of the island to see the Mayan ruin (highly recommend!!) (Pro Tip: If uncomfortable to drive the golf cart a cab was about 100 pesos to get all the way to the far point of the island) Great experience, great staff, great photos by Cami! We had a fabulous time with the kids it was an all day excursion for us. Only downside being the two hour drive to get there. The lunch was a bit lack luster but we had such a great time on the adventures that it more than made up for it! Would go back! read more

We took a Catamaran ride to Isla Mujeres. The shuttle pick up from our hotel was flawless, on time and the driver was super nice. The weather was beautiful. Kevin was the host and he was funny and knowledgeable. All the staff were great. The boat was more crowded than I expected it would, but it didn't really detract from the beauty. Snorkeling was fun, with some colorful fish and the statues seen. Paddle boards had to be strapped to the boat, they said for safety. We stopped off Isla Mujeres for more swimming, but the current seemed strong and other than a couple of people who jumped in, no one wanted to swim. Now Isla Mujeres was crazy. Taxis, scooters and golf carts everywhere! Beeping and honking and people! Madness! In a good way. :) Cancun Adventures has a small strip of beach and areas to sit if you choose not to partake in the island fun. I do wish either Cancun Adventures or the golf cart rental people had told us the turtle sanctuary closed at 5pm as we got there too late to see them. It felt a bit like Mr. Toads Wild Ride, dodging speed bumps, being passed by cars and scooters and noticing dogs everywhere! We saw dogs on a roof, on a fence and even one in a dress running down the road. There's probably more to the island that is nicer than what we saw, but we didn't have time... They had talked about opening the sails if weather permitted, the weather seemed awesome to me, but they never did it. They did send a clipboard around for music choices which was nice. GREAT margaritas, and they kept the drinks flowing. Here's where they could improve, the lunch. While for most the lunch was fine, it was a bento box style with a chopped fish salad of some kind, some chicken pasta, chips and guacamole and some fruit plus dessert. Being vegetarian I only got fruit and chips/guacamole. So I wished they had some options. read more
