Bought our Tucson because they gave us the best deal and highest trade value. We got a bunch of…read morethings thrown into the deal cuz I know how car sales works. The Tucson is still holding up well after 2 years and the service department treats us pretty well. We got the lifetime oil change package but that means we need to bring it here every 6000km. The parts manager is pretty helpful. He usually gives me a deal on parts especially since I'm usually buying for two vehicles (mother in law has a top of the line Tucson). I've gotten good deals on engine and cabin air filters cuz I bought 6 of each at once. We also got a discount on two sets of winter tires on rims. During the pandemic they don't wash the service vehicles which sucks but is understandable.

My wife and I have been customers of Northstar Hyundai since the late 1990s. We've purchased…read moreseveral vehicles over the years, including for our kids. Until recently, we'd have given five stars without hesitation. I want to be clear that I don't blame the customer facing staff. They've been polite, helpful and simply amazing, but it feels like they're being pushed HARD to meet targets and metrics rather than just take care of customers. Buying a car shouldn't feel like a fast-food drive-through. Our Santa Fe Hybrid's multiple issues on purchase led to frequent trips back early on, and our daughter's winter tires were the wrong size. We also learned about discounts like the military discount and referral bonus, neither of which we were told about despite our decades of loyalty...likely missing out on hundreds, if not a few thousand dollars in price reductions. Getting the recent referral bonus took about a month and a half, and we had to press for it multiple times, even though it was advertised as next day. What we'd suggest is simple: slow down and get things right the first time. Pay your staff properly, allowing them the opportunity to provide the kind of service that builds lasting relationships (like it used to be), rather than measuring success by sales figures and targets. Do it right the first time and metrics will take care of themselves without having to overpressure your staff. A bad sales idea is like a fart...if you have to push too hard...it's probably s**t. If allowed to continue, this culture will cause high turn over with both staff and customers...fat cats lining their pockets when front line employees are forced back into the cliche of used car salesmen of the 1980s cartoons. After nearly three decades of loyalty, we'll be taking our business elsewhere, and we won't be referring family or friends anymore.

BUYER BEWARE - Avoid this dealership…read more I originally left a 5-star review because the salesman, Bass, was fine to deal with. Unfortunately, everything after the sale has been a nightmare. I paid cash for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and within two days the check engine light came on and the auto start/stop stopped working. I specifically asked if the auxiliary battery was the issue and was told everything was fine and that I only needed a PCM update at a Jeep dealership. Sherwood Dodge confirmed there was no PCM update required--both batteries had failed and needed replacing, quoting over $1,300. After several calls, Kia eventually replaced both batteries at their expense, but only after initially telling me I was out of luck. They also missed that my keyless entry wasn't working and told me to pay a locksmith myself. I then had to fight just to be reimbursed for the $240 diagnostic fee that their service department told me to incur. It wasn't until I mentioned reporting them to AMVIC that they agreed to reimburse me. I'm absolutely gob smacked they let me drive off their lot with two faulty batteries as this is a huge safety concern potentially being stranded. Two weeks later, the vehicle engine overheated because the radiator fan failed. I was still expected to pay for the part because the warranty didn't cover it. When I picked up the vehicle, the check engine light was still on. The technician simply cleared the code, told me it was an EVAP leak, and said to "drive it and see if it comes back." I asked for documentation and never received it. The biggest concern is that this vehicle supposedly passed an AMVIC inspection despite having two failed batteries, which another dealership said should never have passed inspection. That raises serious questions about how thorough the inspection actually was - do NOT trust the service department. Raj, the service manager, was the only person who genuinely tried to help, but that doesn't make up for the repeated misdiagnoses, poor communication, and having to fight for every resolution. I spent $26,000 expecting a reliable vehicle, not constant repairs and endless runarounds - if i knew this would be the outcome i would have saved myself $26K & continued to sink money into my old vehicle. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership and will be filing a complaint with AMVIC.

Ben, if you do transfer into vehicle sales, my next Toyota will be bought from you. Thank you NorthWest Toyota!

Decent Sales Experience, Everything After Was a Disaster…read more My experience with Northwest Toyota was marginal during the sales process and went downhill quickly from there. The sales process involved far too many unnecessary steps. The dealership wouldn't provide me with the VIN so I could arrange insurance and instead insisted on speaking directly with my insurance provider. When I asked why, the only explanation I received was, "That's our policy." It delayed the process by about a day - not a huge deal, but it was an unnecessarily strange start. Financing was a gong show. Despite having great credit, a large down payment and completing everything during regular business hours, I spent roughly three hours sitting around the dealership waiting. There was no apparent reason for the process to take that long. The service department has been considerably worse. It took two weeks to get an appointment for the first oil change on my brand-new 4Runner. During that visit, I was told they needed to check the torque on the camshaft pulley for an additional $50. I couldn't find this listed as a maintenance item in the owner's manual, and nobody could clearly explain why it was necessary. I had also purchased additional coverage after being told that maintenance or repair items not related to normal wear - such as brakes and tires - would be included. Apparently, this torque check wasn't covered because they considered it a "wear item," which makes absolutely no sense to me. After questioning the charge, I left with the understanding that the check would be completed. I then waited approximately three hours for a booked oil-change appointment, only to learn afterward that the torque check hadn't been performed at all. It felt like the advisor simply agreed with me to end the conversation and get me out the door. When I called for an explanation, reception wouldn't transfer me back to the advisor and insisted they could help. They couldn't. I escalated the issue to a manager and, unsurprisingly, received no follow-up. However, the final straw came when a tire catastrophically failed while I was travelling on Argyle Road. There was no obvious puncture or road damage - the tire simply came apart within roughly 40 feet. I installed the full-size spare on the side of the road during rush hour and called Northwest Toyota to arrange an inspection. The tire failure itself wasn't the dealership's fault. Their response afterward was the problem. Before my call could be transferred to service, the reception staff apparently thought I was on hold, continued discussing their weekend plans and then disconnected the call. When I called back and explained what had happened, they immediately denied hanging up on me. There was no apology or even an attempt to acknowledge the situation. Once I reached service, I was told it would take another two weeks to get an appointment. The person handling the call didn't seem to understand that I needed a failed tire inspected and either repaired or replaced. After I explained the situation twice, she asked whether I wanted my winter tires installed. It was August. After explaining everything for a third time, I was told service wouldn't inspect the vehicle until I purchased a replacement tire from the parts department. I would first need to speak with parts, wait for the tire to arrive and then call service back to schedule another appointment. It's a new vehicle, a tire failure is a warranty issue. There was no urgency, concern or interest in helping with a tire failure on a nearly $100,000 new vehicle. That was enough for me. I told them I wouldn't be returning or contacting the dealership again, and they didn't seem remotely concerned. Northwest Toyota advertises itself as "The Big Toyota Dealership." In my experience, that size does not equal competent service, clear communication or any meaningful follow-up. The sales experience was passable, but everything afterward has been disorganized, frustrating and consistently disappointing. I will not return for service, and I would not purchase another vehicle from this dealership.

The absolute worst car buying experience I've ever had. Shady hidden costs when you go to sign,…read morezero communication during the buying process and then the engine light comes on driving the car home. No AC, leaking oil all over the driveway and the engine light on THE DAY WE BUY THE CAR. After calling repeatedly (and being assured they would take care of it but no follow through), the owner tells us to take the car to his shop that he conveniently owns. They have the car for over a week (while we rent a car at our own cost so I can actually get to work). Told It's supposed to be ready on Wednesday... no communication. Finally on Friday we call and are told that it's done. We ask for copies of the work orders and no response. We insist they deliver for all this hassle. We come home to discover the car leaking oil all over the driveway and the ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON. Oh, and no AC. Now our options are to pay to fix this lemon or return it to them for another piece of crap car with an inflated price. The owner hung up on me when I asked him for a resolution and won't respond to emails or send work orders/ details on what work was done to the car in his shop for an entire week.... Absolute garbage, scam company full of garbage, scam cars. Read the Google reviews- it happens over and over! Their ads say "best price!"- well I guess you can sell them for cheap when the ENGINES ARE BLOWN.
