Good convenience store with great prices. Pastel de Nata is just 39 cents as price in restaurants…read moreis 1.5€. Bottle of verde wine 1.99€ etc. Location probably could a bit tricky in case you need to go through street with homeless people.
I was blown away by the prices at Lidl markets in Lisbon! I got a bottle (330 ml) of *fresh…read moresqueezed* orange juice for 1.29 Euros!! I couldn't believe it! I actually activated the machine to squeeze the oranges myself and caught the juice in a bottle as it was dispensed! It was so, so delicious! Can't beat fresh squeezed! Prices for other items were also more reasonable than what's available where I'm from; Candy, baked good, and even some specialty foods are way less expensive than at home. The problem is, how do you lug it all home?!

Smaller than some of the Pingo Doce convenience stores. One thing I like about the Pingo Doce is…read morethat one can buy individual containers of some items such as yogurt that are normally sold in packs of four. They also have their own house brands of various products. For thirty-something cents one can buy a small container of Pingo Doce red or white wine. (The red is not very good; the white is just very bland, though some of it went into our soup with good effect...) There's lots of wines in the 1 to 2 Euro range, a paradise for a wino, or someone who just wants to try various things to drink. And more expensive wines can be found there too. People don't jam their carts to the brim like they do at the Jumbo across the road, so one doesn't have to wait as long. Prices really arent much if any higher than at the larger stores....
