During the reception, he did a wonderful job of revving up the guests, both before introduction of bridal party as well as getting everyone onto the dancefloor. Like the picture I posted says - Wayne is the best!…read more I got married October 2014, and amongst the wedding planning tasks, I had to find someone to marry us. My Mom had recommended someone she knew of, but our schedules didn't work out and I got somewhat of a bad vibe so I crossed him off the list. I took to "The Knot" and started looking at their vendor list for Officiants. I called 2-3 places and they all told me the same thing - $400+ for their services. Seriously? The ceremony will be all of 15 min, why so expensive??? I learned two things: 1) I'm in the wrong profession and 2) I needed to find someone more affordable and reasonable. Since I was striking out on The Knot, I went old school - yellow pages! I know...why didn't I just look at Yelp? Who knows! I think I was just getting discouraged and frustrated. Anyways. The yellow pages turned up Dream Wedding Ceremonies. There really wasn't a whole lot to choose from honestly. I called & he answered. Talking to Wayne made me feel like I was talking to my Uncle Johnny in Dallas. I felt so comfortable and at ease with him. His personality & character definitely came thru in our phone call and I knew this is the type of person I'd want to officiate our wedding. I've said how I think he's great, but here's why - he's thorough. Where are you getting married? When are you getting married? Oh you live in this county, well this is where you wanna go to get your marriage license. Don't get your marriage license too early cause it's only good for 30 days - 2 wks at the earliest is when you should get it. He tells you not to worry about anything, and if you have any questions at all to give him a call. He's great at communicating and I never felt like there was a lack thereof. Which is super important when you're a bride-to-be because everything worries & stresses you! Another thing that sets Wayne apart from other officiants is he doesn't require a contract. That made me a little nervous, so I sent him the payment in advance to ensure there was some kind of exchange. And as far as payment goes - he tells you he doesn't collect until the event date cause he doesn't want you to have to worry about it. Who does that?! After the ceremony, he takes the completed marriage license and takes care of filing it for you. See? He's really a great guy and I wish there were more people like him in the world. He's honest, trustworthy, helpful, friendly, caring, and fantastic at what he does! And if all this isn't great enough - he's affordable! If you're getting married and need an officiant, do yourself a huge favor and give him a call.

All I can say is WOW. This man knows his stuff…read more A few years ago, my then-wife and I took a rec and ed course on basic ballroom dancing that was taught by Dorian. He has clear passion for dancing and for sharing his amazing gift with others. He also has the right ATTITUDE to be an effective instructor. Patient, understanding, knowing how to work with "room temperature IQ" types who are "legends in their own minds", and effectively dealing with Fred Astaire wannabes with two left feet, Dorian gave all the people in the class COMPETENCE and CONFIDENCE, when it was clear that he was so, so, so much better than those in the class. I simply cannot give a stronger recommendation to this outstanding teacher. He is a fabulous dancer with loads of talent but makes everyone feel that they are making good progress. If I had to select just one person to teach me ballroom dancing for an important event (holiday party, wedding, etc.), I would entrust that awesome responsibility to Dorian Deaver. It is similar to recruiting Michael Jordan or LeBron James to teach a basic high school basketball clinic. Damn! You simply cannot do better. Recommend heartily! -------------- Disclosure: I did not receive anything (not even a pair of stinky socks) for submitting this review. Other than being a former student, I have no connection with Mr. Deaver. Good luck!
