I didn't venture into Aldi's because I heard it was "different" and wasn't sure what to expect…read more Their sale items seemed too good to be true. Must not be very good, right? Wrong! I finally decided to try a few sale items and ended up with a cart full of name brands I'd never heard of. To my surprise, everything was just as good as the big brand names and many were better. The produce reminded me of a farmer's market. Meat and dairy were good. I don't normally buy trail mix, but their varieties made me cave. I quickly returned for more mix and more ice cream, but Bluebell and Kroger needn't worry. I was happy with everything I purchased, but here's why I rated 4 stars: * Hours: They open late and close early (9a-8p). * Inventory: Varies. You probably won't find everything on your list. * Selection: Mostly limited to Aldi brand. * Atmosphere: A slight vibe vaguely reminiscent of what I imagine a food pantry is like. What makes Aldi "different": * Carts: Sign says $0.25 to unlock. Say what? As I was frantically digging, an employee came out waving a quarter. Turns out the first cart had one in the slot. The procedure is to unlock your cart, then move the quarter to the next cart. If someone pockets the quarter, an employee will furnish. Seems like an unnecessary layer of complexity, but must admit I treated the cart with more respect and have never seen an empty cart in the parking lot. Just another way they keep prices low, so I can dig that, man. * Bagging: You're on your own. Checked items are placed in an empty cart and there's a staging area for bagging. Bags are sold at a reasonable price and they bring out free boxes when available. An employee will sometimes offer to help. Why I enthusiastically insist you try Aldi's: * Low prices: My internal dialog made me laugh. A few items had me fighting the urge to look over my shoulder because it felt like I was "getting away with something". * Superior quality: No disappointments. * Camaraderie: Kinship with other customers - "Aren't we smart for shopping here?" "This place is our little secret!" Toward employees - "Y'all are so cool for working here!" Best of all, there's a good feeling of "We're all in this together." If you don't mind making 2 stops for groceries, go to Aldi first! Before you head out, check their store hours, remember to bring your own bags, and review their sale flyer. You'll be glad you did.

I was really hesitant on sharing this amazing deal, because the last time I shared a great deal, I…read moreno longer got to partake in the deal because everyone else was beating me to it lol!!! So many people are sleeping on Aldis , and for so many small reasons, example; 25 cents for a grocery basket ( but you get your quarter back if you safely return the basket ), having to bring or pay for bags ( I'm sure most people have a cabinet full of grocery bags from other markets ), and then the prices be so low for the great quality and quantity of food, I simply can't stay away. Anyways , this particular location is always fully stocked and organized with so much food /products , the cashiers are always friendly and move so Fast and effortlessly. And whatever season or holiday that is present or approaching, Aldis always be on point with the decorations , toys , and other gadgets. My recent find was their boxed snow crab legs for $15.99. I underestimated them for sure . The box had a nice little weight to them , but I assumed it was because they were frozen . But you actually get a decent amount of crab legs in that one box. I got 3 boxes so that myself and my daughters could each have a box to ourselves, we all literally only used half of our boxes. Only downside is having to prepare them, which for us wasn't an issue. Because Most of these seafood spots now days, a pound of snow crab legs you are paying at least $30, we paid half of that for a box each. They were fresh and very yummy . I highly recommend to all my seafood /snow crab lovers to head over to Aldis and get you a few boxes and throw your family / friends a seafood boil for a very reasonable amount. Just PLEASE leave me a couple of boxes , even if you gotta hide them lol !!
