Joy Farm is another vendor at the Four Seasons Farmers Markets. They have fresh greens and healthy…read more(sorta anyway) treats. Last weekend they were selling arugula, pok choy (mini boc choy), and mustard greens. Greens grow well in the winter, so hopefully their tent at the market will remain stocked during the cold months. They also sell premade treats. Sugar Bear has an enormous sweet tooth, so when he saw the margarita cookies and spicy chocolate cookies HE zoomed over to the vendor for a closer look. They are made locally, so Sugar Bear feels he's doing his job as a locavore by checking these out! The margarita cookies were his favorite with the tangy lime flavor mixed in with a delicate sea salt. I got pok choy and a French pumpkin (looks like a green acorn squash) to stir fry. Yummy!

I was going to bring one of their large 8" Berry Chantilly cakes to a birthday party in a few days…read moreso I came by to see if I could place an order for it. It was the 4th of July weekend so I wanted to be sure that this cake would be available. Sadly, I was told that they do not take orders for their cakes. Regardless, the salesgirl was pretty confident that one should be available. We came back a few days later and as I entered into the store a woman was walking out with one of the cakes I wanted. I held my breath and picked up my step and got back to the Bakery department. I was able to breathe as I found six of these cakes available for purchase. Whew! What a relief! My only suggestion is that they let you "reserve one" in advance. I would definitely pay in advance too, just to let them help me out by storing a fresh one for me. It was a bit stressful not knowing if they would have that cake available on the day I needed to pick it up. The packaging is pretty big for this cake. So big that it wouldn't fit in a traditional rectangular cooler. I had to put my cooler on its side and then slide it in. I carefully put the seatbelt through the cooler handle so it was snug. Since I was running a few errands on the way to the party, I wanted to make sure it stayed nice and cool. I brought the cake to the party and it was the star of the show! It was as beautiful inside as was the outside! Not too sweet, the cake was moist and had a slight almond flavor and fruity between the layers. I highly recommend the Berry Chantilly cake for all of your special occasions or just when you want a delicious cake!

Good, fresh, frozen yogurt is tough to find, but the Plaza does it well. They change the flavors often enough that you'll rarely have the same flavor and even though their flavor selection is small, they're likely to have something to entice anyone's tastebuds. I think they always have chocolate and vanilla and they rotate out two other flavors (last time - I had a black cherry/peach swirl - yum!) It's self-serve, so grab yourself a cup and go for it!
