Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market - Fresh produce at the Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market

Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market

(2 reviews)

This farmers market started a couple of years ago and the number of vendors just keeps going up!…read more They have multiple vendors of produce (vegetables, herbs, fruits), plus specialty vendors that sell things like vegan scones, bundt cakes (!) goat cheese and milk, pickles and sourdough bread. The market features live music by local musicians each week. It has a free weekly kids program and accepts SNAP. It is across the street from the Poughkeepsie Train Station and next door to the elevator to the Walkway Over the Hudson, which makes it very accessible by foot.

Love this market! It's been growing steadily over the past few years It's covered, which means…read moreit's usually open rain or shine and in the heat, it can really be a sweet relief. They have live music too. Attracting more vendors, especially with local products like bread, maple syrup, coffee, baked goods, cheeses and goat milk, homemade soap, microgreens as well as several fresh produe vendors - even organic - and someone who sells farm fresh eggs and chicken! Prices are very reasonable as well. This year there are a few food vendors and trucks - jerk chicken and Mole Mole with mexican food - though they are here sometimes and missing other Mondays. There are picnic tables in the market to hang out or eat too. Parking is tight and sparse - the Children's Museum allows free use of their lot, but parking at Waryas Park is also an option if you don't mind a short walk. And the train station is also within walking distance. There is a walkway along the river that connects both Waryas and Upper Landing Park, so it's a great place for a walk or spending time sitting on a bench near the river on a nice day. You can even take the elevator up to the Walkway over the Hudson. Please come here and support your local vendors and farmers!
