Since he left, there are some new faces, and a couple of them have been helpful. Unfortunately, the employee I encounter most often doesn't seem very engaged. When I ask for assistance, she typically points me to the aisle and leaves me to sort through the many options on my own. On my most recent visit, she was sitting at the counter on her phone as I walked into the store, found the products I needed in two different aisles, and returned to the register. She didn't notice I was there until I set my items on the counter, at which point she turned around to help me. I'll continue shopping here because I like the store and its products, but I'll also be looking at other retailers where I can receive more product guidance and customer service.

Follow up to my earlier review of Natural Grocers. Since it's been seven years, I figured a…read morereconsideration was in order. I stopped by the other day, and it was almost like everything was in a time capsule. It felt and looked exactly the same. Nothing looked updated or different, and after a thorough review of the aisles, they seem to have the same standard health food store type items. Definitely some new brands, but mostly the same offerings. One thing I'm seeing a lot more of these days for the health conscious is a focus on added protein and or fiber. I specifically sought out high fiber and high protein, products, and there weren't that many to be honest. A lot of companies are adding one or both of these to their standard products or creating new products to fit this trend, but there wasn't a lot at natural grocers to fit this category. The staff was friendly as usual. I was asked as I was browsing if I needed any help finding anything, and when it was clear that there were a couple of us waiting in line for the one checkout lane they had open, they opened a second one. Very friendly employees, and my interactions with them were pleasant. The interior could use a little refresh. Nothing looked dirty, but the store does look a little dated. I'm not sure what it is about health food stores or sections, but they all tend to smell the same. Not a bad smell, but kind of earthy? I'm not sure anything could be done about that. It would be nice to have a self checkout option. They still only have traditional checkout aisles.

When…read morefirst introduced to Max Muscle Bellevue I was in the worst shape of my life and had lost the confidence I needed to believe I could change my life and my body. I struggled to do basic physical activities needed to get through the day. Jason and Matt have been key in shaping my mental image of health as well as my physical. I always knew nutrition was important but I never understood how key eating (I mean real food full of good carbs, proteins, and fats) in the proper amounts throughout the day matters to your body. These guys have changed my image of food and helped me focus on building a strong healthy body instead of obsessing on numbers from a weight scale. Food is no longer something I crave for comfort but something I use to fuel my body. Instead of focusing on scale readings, I now focus on by body fat percentage, body strength, and daily energy levels. It took some faith to trust these guys when they told me I needed to eat to drop fat and gain strength. I trusted their advice and now reap the benefits of a body down in body fat and still transforming. Feeling physically strong has changed my own confidence in myself. I use several of the Max Muscle products though I have never once felt pressured into buying anything. Both Matt and Jason have even discouraged me from buying products they felt were not appropriate for me at the time or would not help me change my life for the long run. These guys listen to you and customize their advice based on what you tell them about your goals and the factors in your life. I hesitated entering the store for the first time. I was far from what anyone could consider athletic and I worried that this store was only geared to elite athletes. It is not. These guys help a full spectrum of people. I recommend Max Muscle Bellevue to anyone looking to build a stronger, healthier body, and establish life long healthy habits.
