The beverages are amazing. I've enjoyed the sea moss soaps and I stock up on the shea butters. They last awhile and smell great. This is a great group of people I will always cherish moments of sharing watermelon and juice samples. Thankful for this space.

She knew all about the conditions that I was concerned with and was able to offer several alternatives using natural herbs and supplements, to attain my goals. I sampled the sea moss gel, which was actually good tasting because they add real fruit. I invested in some essential oils, body, butters, and hair preparations made from top grade natural ingredients. Each product smells delicious! I am looking forward to excellent results. As Yvette said, it never hurts to reduce the toxic load of body products that comes from putting synthetics on our skin instead of natural, edible products. We parted with hugs and smiles. After all, our skin eats (absorbs)! I will visit again and I highly recommend, especially due to the warm, welcoming ambience that this shop has created. By the way, they are so honest that if they don't carry a particular supplement, they will send you to someone who does carry it. Awesome!

I first came upon Blue Nile years ago and the owner saved my life. Here some 20 years later I brought my daughter today. Introducing her to holistic healing is a joy. As I settled into my adult years I became a regular myself & introduced many people to Blue Nile. However there's been a dark shift that has happened in that shop the staff has changed & just the other day I brought my 2 year old in the shop and he pushed a button on a printer that sits in the middle of the floor in the shop low enough that he could reach and it printed a few labels of course I apologized and picked him he was very close to me and I was gathering my order. Nothing was broke but the lady went off and kept pacing back and forth furious, it made me so uncomfortable that that much anger was directed towards a child so I started to head for the door with my baby and the other lady said "well are you going to still buy this stuff" Sweetheart, I will never step foot back in that place.

That door led me into Secrets of Nature. I was so confused where the restaurant part of the store was so I walk to the nearest counter. It was a man just standing there staring at me. I waiting for a moment to see if he would say anything, he didn't. So I said "May I see a menu?" Still without speaking he gave me the menu. It was two ladies sitting at a table in the store about to eat. I asked them what did they order. I walked back to the man and began to place my order when he told me I had to go to the kitchen. I had to then ask where the kitchen was. I walked to the kitchen where it was another 2 women just staring without greeting me. I waited.... nothing. So I said "Can I order?" I order the mock ginger chicken with greens, kale, and Mac & cheese. She prepared my plate as I stated my order. The food was already prepared in aluminum tins. I had to go back to the man in the front to pay. My little container of food can to damn near $15. I later realized I was charged for 2 proteins (mock chicken & ?!?!?) and 2 veggies. Not sure what side was considered a protein in their book. All the sides I ordered was considered a veggie on their menu. I drove home to enjoy my meal. I LOVE Mac & Cheese. I was not pleased at all with their Mac. It has all types of weird flavors in it. I think I taste some curry in it. YUCK!! Everything else was pretty good. I wanted to drive back to exchange the Mac for something else. If I go again I would definitely order the Mock Chicken, Greens and give the Mock Beef (mushrooms) a try. The food was decent. The employees just don't have a sense of customer service skills. It doesn't take much to just say Hello. The food is slightly pricey for the amount of food that is given. The did have a good selection of teas that I would go back to purchase. I'll give it 3 stars because I rarely to find good vegetarian food. Especially in the SE area of Washington D.C. The Mock chicken really taste like chicken.

Much needed in the community and greatly appreciated!
