After taking it to another shop in LA where they basically told me "you're shit out of luck" took it to Nomadic after it was sitting in its case for a year... what can I say man I'm a xennial raised on Brave Little Toaster, so I was starting to literally feel BAD about playing my other guitars and not playing my old friend that I'd learned to play on. Not only did Nomadic fix my gear ahead of schedule, but they promptly responded to all my texts and were super accommodating on pickup scheduling when I was out of town. Even though they're not expensive instruments, the prices were completely reasonable, and you cannot put a price on sentimental value. My old friend is back, sounds and feels great, and I could not be more satisfied. 5/5 10/10. Don't fuck around, bring your gear to Nomadic.

My previous Fender build broke down after being worked on by a random tech who took longer and did an average job. Mike showed me the value of going to someone who's truly #1, and he proved it with my new custom Fender Telecaster: better wiring, a careful setup, better strings, and great advice on what the legends use--all done within the same weekend Overall, my experience with Mike was amazing. The staff were super helpful and knowledgable, and they assisted us in the entire purchase process. The best thing is that they even allowed us to bring the violin home for a week to test and show our teacher. The best thing is that their website had youtube videos of their violin collection that are for sale. So even before we drove to Glendale, we were able to shortlist the instruments that we like to try. That saved us a lot of time. I also had a chance to meet the owner Tom. He is super nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend his store to all my friends.

While I appreciated being refunded for it, it was disappointing that it was unavailable. Additionally, another item listed as new was actually an open-floor model. I do want to thank Diane for reaching out to inform me about this and offering a discount, though I ultimately chose to decline that item. The rest of my items were processed quickly and arrived promptly. However, I was disappointed with the packaging quality. An expensive music box intended as a gift was shipped without any bubble wrap or protective securing--it was simply placed loose in the box alongside a music stand bag. Fortunately, it arrived without obvious damage, but better care should be taken when packaging fragile items.

Reuben is a guitar obsessive and finds all the cool oddball stuff and makes it sing. In another era, I suspect a little kid would walk in there and fall in love with a guitar and Reuben would let the kid walk with the guitar and let him pay it off in weekly installments from his paper route. Plus, the Maestro has made many of my "project" guitars extremely playable and they have become favorites of all myself and all my musical friends. 5 big stars.

I'd always been interested in singing, but after hearing myself attempt to sing in the past, I was…read moreconvinced I was tone-deaf and felt discouraged. After my acting teacher recommended all actors do vocal training, I took the opportunity to try it. As an adult beginner with no real singing experience, searching for a place to start was intimidating, but I'm so glad I took the leap with this studio. Through the Vocal Foundation program with Stuart Wheeler, I've learned that I'm indeed NOT tone-deaf, and that with the right training and technique, I've been able to unlock a part of my voice that I've not been able to access until now. Stuart is a highly-skilled teacher, singer, and musician, with the ability to articulate complex musical terms in a way that easily clicks in my mind (and I'm not an easy person to teach!). He is a patient, compassionate instructor who provides a safe, fun space to learn and explore. I've enjoyed being able to choose the songs that we work on. My lessons have always been insightful and surprisingly empowering. In just a few months, I've gained much more control and confidence in my own voice, expanded my range, learned to be more mentally focused and present, and have sharpened my listening skills. I can now sing for pleasure without being so self-conscious. My vocal training has even helped improve my piano and guitar practice! The session rates are reasonable and the location/parking are convenient. I haven't had a chance to work directly with Jane but she has been lovely over our communications. Overall, I've gained so much from my training here and I look forward to continuing.

I primarily work with vintage (pre-1965) instruments, so I was unfortunately accustomed to waiting patiently for the trusted, old-guard guys to get around to doing whatever it was. It was usually done well, but not always. It was essentially a gamble on time and quality. I would live with small issues and abbreviated playability sometimes due to the stress and time involved in taking something in for work. Emerson has showed a level of skill, excitement and timely but never rushed turnaround that I can only describe as perfect. Communication didn't feel reluctant, the work was done methodically, completely and with all options (even ones I didn't think of) conveyed concisely. I'm going on about this because these are the "rubs" I felt I was running into with others that were seemingly just kinda burned out on working on guitars. A quick side note: Please take care of this resource!!! Emerson is an extremely valuable commodity if having your instrument(s) in the best order is of value to you! I have enjoyed getting so much more done/ fixed on guitars in the last year, ranging from having small, highly specific electronics work dialed in, subtle but very noticeable fretwork done to big fixes/ refretts and total overhaul projects.
