Rings N Things

I avoid things like social media as a rule, but my experience with Rings N' Things has been so…read moregreat, I have signed up with Yelp just to make sure they get the credit they deserve. I wanted to retire a pendant I've had for twenty years. I bought it as a fan of the video game it originated from. Nothing truly special, one of thousands, mass-produced, stamped out of pewter, and coated in a very shiny finish, it's little more than costume jewelry. I doubt it was ever meant to last so long. Although I had it plated in .925 silver years before, I felt it was time to set it aside from regular wear due to how precious to me it's become over the years. But I still like the design, and so went searching for a way to have a copy made. Preferably in a not-so-precious material like steel. If I lost it then, I wouldn't be too torn up over it. I went to shop after shop, learning that nobody works with steel, that making a copy was possible but expensive, and that my copy would have to be either silver, gold, or platinum - the latter getting as high a quote as $10,000! Silver was the color I wanted and cheapest of the three options, but quotes were, at the lowest, $450. Finally, I was referred to Fred at Rings N' Things. He examined my pendant and told me something I almost couldn't believe - not only would he make a copy from silver (without destroying the original piece), and not only would he also give me the mold used to create the copy (meaning I could have more copies made over time), he would do it for a price far lower than anybody else I spoke with. I was excited. I was hasty. I immediately made the deal. Just like that, I handed over my pendant. I never made a deposit. I never got a receipt. I simply wrote my name and phone number on a small yellow envelope, and that was it. I took Fred at his word, and the word was it would be a couple of weeks. Shortly after leaving, I had second thoughts. It seemed too good to be true. I wondered if I had been clear in my request. Eventually, I called Fred to reconfirm everything, and he did. I asked why it was so inexpensive compared to others. He was patient with me and the call ended with my mind at ease. When it was finished, Fred called me just like he said he would. I went down the next day, and it was exactly what I had hoped for and more. A perfect copy in .925 silver. Incredible. The molds used were there as well, as was my original pendant (newly polished). The price was the price we had agreed upon weeks earlier, and I paid it happily. I now have a perfect copy of something I treasure, thanks to Fred and Rings N' Things. My experience has been a joy, and I highly recommend Rings N' Things.

Fred was very helpful as I sketched him what I wanted and what I didn't want. He gave me quotes for diamonds of different grades and sizes, and worked with me to meet the budget*. - 2/3 the price of James Allen - Expert advice - Free ring polishes for life - Saved money on Wedding bands too! (even custom fit to engagement ring for no extra cost) I am v-impressed. 10/10 recommend to my friends. They have all had similar experiences as me. * You get what you pay for, set a budget and stick to it!

I had the most awful experience at Heinrichs…read more I had taken my watch in for a simple battery replacement (I had been told that they have experience with this particular brand of watch), and instead ended up with a broken watch. After replacing the battery, the gentleman who repaired it handed it back to me, and I noticed all the hands of the 3 chronographs had fallen off and were floating around in the face. When I brought this to his attention he declared he could not be assured the watch wasn't like that when I brought it in. Not only was this complete dishonesty, but horrible customer service to accuse me of deceiving him. He offered to have it repaired but I would have to pay half the cost! When I picked up the watch the next week after the repair was done (and begrudgingly paid half of the cost of the repair), the chronograph was not reset properly, and on top of that, he did not know how to fix it. A new low to the definition of unskilled labourer. I would highly recommend avoiding this business at all costs, particularly for watch repair, but even for sales, as their customer service lacks in all respects.

If you complain they will offer to upgrade the stones for a couple hundred more. This is not hearsay, it happened to me with a family ring that arrived a month and a half after I was told it would. They tried saying that they would never say that the stone would be clear, but then I went back and recorded one of their salesmen saying it to me again. When I told them I had a recording Mr. Heinrichs said he wanted a look at the ring. He kept it, forced a refund on my credit card, and then threw me out of the store.
