I've worked with T on my rotator cuff, and then after when I needed labrum and tenodesis surgeries. My surgeon gives credit to the work I did and also to T. She is extremely intuitive - she can touch my body and tell immediately where I am tight or need work. Her wrok is amazing, and I feel incredible when she is done. There is a spirituality to her work which leaves me with a centered and calm as well. I highly recommend T to anyone who is in pain or discomfort. All of a sudden…read moreI realized it was about to expire and when I called, Shannon was very responsive and happy to book my appointments as soon as possible. Just as an fyi, she is very busy so email was ultimately the best way to communicate with her. If you are able to use that method, I highly recommend it instead.... otherwise you may end up playing a bit of phone tag. I was familiar with Breathe Yoga Studio already so I knew exactly where she was located but for the uninitiated, Breathe is in the shopping center at Pollard and Winchester. Aldo's Ristorante and The Garret Station are in the same center. Parking is ample. The studio is small and serene and the massage room is in the back behind the tea bar. Check in with the receptionist and they will let Shannon know you're there. The room itself is very nice and has a huge bathroom with a shower attached so that you can rinse off before or after (though, I wouldn't expect to spend a lot of time primping unless you make prior arrangements.... time may be a factor). Shannon is very straightforward and open. I found her easy to talk with and give feedback to... More quiet massage was also very comfortable. Shannon is a strong woman and very thorough so if you're looking for a therapeutic, sports or deep tissue massage with someone who will really listen, pay attention and give you what you need... you'll be very happy here. Due to the overall set up, however, those who are looking for a more candlelight spa relaxation type experience may be happier elsewhere. I like both... so I'll definitely be back.

this review is about a year overdue, but better late than never!…read more i scheduled a 90 minute massage with shannon about a week before my half marathon since i knew that my muscles would be needing some tender loving care the day after the race. it was easy scheduling a time with shannon, i called her, left a voice mail with my preferred day/time and she called me back shortly thereafter and we confirmed an appt. when i came in, my legs were definitely quite sore and tight, so i came in hoping that shannon would be able to ease the tightness, flush out the lactic acid, and get some blood circulating back in my quads, hamstrings, and calves. we spent a few minutes discussing my needs and current status, and shannon told me that she regularly works on tri-athletes and is therefore very familiar with athletes' muscles. since i was fresh off a "stressful" event, at least, for my body, she said that she would not be giving me deep tissue treatment, but rather a lighter, swedish to help loosen up the tight leg muscles. she used long, smooth strokes on my legs, and took her time in breaking up the tight muscles and adhesions that had formed as a result of the pounding from the day before. she also spent a good amount of time on my back since that was a bit sore as well, not quite as sore as my legs, but still in need of some attention. overall, i received an excellent massage, and shannon definitely has a great feel for the body. aside from the fact that i had just completed a half marathon 24 hrs earlier and was quite sore from the waist down, i didn't have to give her any additional information in order for her to give me a fabulous massage.

She was in the delivery room with me for hours during my very intense and difficult delivery. (5 hours hard labor, I never progressed and had a c-section at midnight). Ka'i's presence was a comfort, she was the whole reason I didn't lose my mind that day! After my delivery, she came to my house and helped me create a regimen and environment to soothe myself because I was suffering from post-partum. As you can see, Ka'i has a ton to offer as a conventional massage therapist, but she is so capable and accommodating that she is able to adapt to suit her clients' needs. I'd recommend her to anyone who has aches, pains, strains, or is going thru a particularly stressful situation and they need massage to soothe and also want to create a soothing regimen for themselves to relieve the effects of stress on their minds/bodies.

Ka'i met me at the door with a firm handshake and asked me if I would like a cup of tea...delicious tea by the way...we sat down and she went over what kind of a massage I was interested in and what not. She offers the addition of using heated packs during the massage. I said what the hell, lets use them! She then pointed me over to the dish of dark chocolates and stepped out while I stripped down and hopped on the table.
