Johnny and his team just finished our backyard this morning and I can't say enough good things!…read more For starters, I reached out to them and found them to be responsive and available quickly. The initial consultation was thorough, and they prepared the quote quickly. The quote was detailed, it was easy to discuss/implement any changes - it felt like a truly cooperative process to come to a plan that we liked, was practical for our lifestyle, and within our budget. We were really looking for a company that could come in and take care of everything without the need to subcontract anything out, or organize additional vendors on our own and they fit that bill. They installed turf, removed 2 old rotting tree stumps, cleared out and replanted 2 areas of the garden, replaced a broken/rotting fence and set of steps, carted away any junk from the yard that didn't belong, and even repaired a hole in the cement left by the previous owners. The other thing that I really appreciated was that they listened when we said we wanted to keep things very low maintenance. Plants were chosen in a way that doesn't require us to fuss over them and allows us, our kid, and our dog to actually use the space without being worried about things getting ruined. During the work they required access through an apartment and were respectful of the space (and everyone's time), and left everything clean. The job took a touch longer than anyone initially expected, but that was caused by weather delays and a few extra items that came up as they were working. Communication about any changes was prompt, the additional work that came up was explained clearly, and I found any additional charges to be more than fair. We're so excited to get to use our garden and watch it grow as the weather improves, and I look forward to having Johnny and his team return for any regular maintenance. I'll try to remember to update this review with photos in the spring once things settle in and bloom.

We had such a good experience with this team!…read more From day 1 they were friendly and easy to work with. We loved the design they put together, they helped us make decisions to maintain high quality and stay within our budget, they were communicative throughout the process, and my dog loved the whole team which is always a great sign. Probably most importantly... the results are amazing. They were on time and under budget (first time that's happened for any house projects!), and I love being out in the yard now. Everything is done just right. Definitely would work with them again! I wish they did interiors too!

I DO NOT recommend Mike Waddell "Plant Daddy" based on my recent experience with him…read more I hired him several months ago to create a planting design for my front and backyard and to purchase the plants. I paid upfront for the design and a plant budget because he came highly recommended by people I know. Instead of the planting design I paid for, I received several AI generated elevation printouts with random plants superimposed on a photo of my house. Only approximately 25% of the plant budget was spent and the project remains UNFINISHED because he walked off the job. I attempted to resolve the situation directly with him but he failed to show up for two scheduled meetings and has since ignored my calls, texts, and emails regarding a refund of the unused plant budget. I have now initiated legal action in the NJ Court to recover the money I am seeking. Please beware of Mike Waddell operating as "Plant Daddy". He passes himself off as full service business when in actuality he is a one man fraud. RUN from this guy.

Mike and his team worked with us to identify ways to upgrade and beautify our home. Then he tapped in to his roster of trusted specialist to do the work (masonry, gutters, etc.). But it doesn't stop there. Mike is on site every day to ensure that the work is done on time, as promised, and on budget. It's been a seamless and wonderful experience. Mike has the eye of a designer and the hands of a carpenter. Our home has never looked better! All I can say is book your job early! As the word gets out, the only difficulty with Mike and Plant Daddy will be getting in line with other fans of his business.

I could not be happier with the work Nick and his team at OnAFastPace did on our front lawn turf…read moreinstallation! From the very beginning, Nick was professional, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure we were happy. He answered all of our questions, kept us informed throughout the process, and delivered exactly what he promised. The finished product is absolutely beautiful. The turf looks incredibly natural, the installation is flawless, and the attention to detail exceeded our expectations! Our home has undergone a major exterior transformation this year, and our beautiful new turf was the perfect finishing touch. It looks clean, lush, and professionally done. What impressed me most was Nick's work ethic, reliability, and pride in his craftsmanship. It's not always easy to find contractors who show up when they say they will, communicate well, and truly care about the final result--but Nick does all of that and more. If you're considering artificial turf, I highly recommend Nick and his team at OnAFastPace. Quality work, fair pricing, excellent communication, and a beautiful finished product. I can't recommend them enough and I would gladly hire them again!

DO NOT USE! I paid a lot of money for landscaping that still looks poorly done. The tree layout is…read moreuneven, one was completely forgotten and later planted by hand, and now it's visibly misaligned. The spacing makes the entire front yard look unfinished and thrown together. I was told the boxwoods would fill in within a year; it's been two years and they've barely grown. That was either completely unrealistic or just flat-out misleading. The edging and flower bed work is sloppy and uneven. There's no attention to detail, and it shows. Communication was just as bad. Calls were ignored, and when he did respond, it was with "what do you want to talk about?" -- which is not how you speak to a paying customer. At one point, it honestly felt like his own worker knew more than he did and was trying to guide him, but he didn't listen. This wasn't a one-time mistake, it's a pattern of poor workmanship, lack of knowledge, and unprofessional behavior. Save your money and hire someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I can't say enough about the excellent work done by Cosmo Landscaping. Unsurprisingly, the owner of…read morethe company is a guy called Cosmo, and working with him was a real treat not only because he has such a delightful name, but because the work he does at the price point he offers is unparalleled. Communication, affordability, flexibility, efficiency, assiduity - that's the package you get with Cosmo Landscaping. But what you really need to know is I moved into a new house with a disaster of a backyard - it was full of random old bricks, tiny pebbles, and the corpses of about ten -thousand lantern flies. Those little pebbles I mentioned - man - they were everywhere - and were sort of cheap stone you might expect to find at the bottom of a fish thank rather than sprinkled about your yard like a badly decorated cake manufactured by a kindergartner with free reign of the confectionery cupboard. Alas - such was my yard. And I wanted it fixed - bad. I brought in all kinds of troops. Old friends with big debts to pay who I hoped might do me a favor, family with construction business experience, and even a half dozen landscapers and contractors who all promised the world tied up in a pretty pink bow that would fit right in my backyard. But I didn't trust a single one, until Cosmo showed up. The first thing you gotta know is that I'm not easy customer to please. I can do a good bit of construction myself, and like I say, have the soldiers to rely on should I need a hand. But the thing I don't have is time, and so I hate hiring a guy to do a job that I could have done myself (with a little help from my friends) only to find out the job was done half-assedly and worse than I would have done myself. Cosmo came to give me an estimate in the middle of a horrifying blizzard and stood outside with me for ages thinking through exactly how the project should look. I had half a dozen cockamamie ideas that he talked me out of - thank YHWH - and he even used a bunch of old garbage leftover from the previous owners to demonstrate and help me visualize the ideas he had and to talk me out of my own disastrous line of thinking. Well, long story short, we had a lot of back and forth about the price, the objective, how it would look, the features, and he was good enough to trust that I could handle a good portion of the preparatory labor - so he worked with me on that and we got the job rolling and over a period of time we transformed my yard from no-mans-land to a wee urban oasis. The proof is in the pudding, as they say (see photos below).
