America's Floor Source - Columbus West

Our family has used America's Floor Source (AFS) many times over the past ten years (specifically…read morethe Hillard/Trabue location). We recently needed to purchase carpeting for most of our house and checked with AFS. We stopped and talked to Ed Kilrain and the team in Hillard to get started. Ed also visited our home to capture measurements and got us a quote quickly. We compared their pricing to other Central Ohio locations, and Ed was able to give us the best pricing with installation. It took a little longer to get the carpet than expected (supply chain issues), but once it arrived Ed scheduled us an install date within a few days. Most importantly, the team that did the install was one of the hardest working, efficient teams I have witnessed in a long time. They worked non-stop 8am to 4pm and did an amazing job for our full support job. Moved furniture, ripped out old carpet, and installed the new carpet with no issues. Our house looks amazing. I will always check with the AFS team in Hillard before tackling any project! you should too. Good luck.

Having initially gotten a quotation from Empire, we had a bit of a sense of what to expect in the sales process. Overall, the company did install great carpet and LVP in my home and were quite quick to do so. The installers helped to confirm my LVP was being installed in the direction I wanted and worked quickly, completing the jobs in a few hours. The only reason I didn't provide a 5-star review was for the reasons below: 1) Our sales representative was fine overall, but wasn't the fastest in responding or when I inquired about potentially putting a different pattern of flooring (e.g., planks placed in herringbone), he mentioned he had seen it, but didn't really offer it as an option. 2) The installation team left quite a bit of dust/shoeprints throughout my main floor in getting to the basement. Most other contractors in my home always bring drop cloths to avoid this. 3) We had just had our other contractors complete painting of the walls the previous week and after the installation team we had quite a few marks/scratches on the walls, some spanning multiple feet. 4) When the LVP team showed up and realized they didn't have enough materials, they asked me where they should leave unfinished - I feel like I shouldn't have been involved in the process. I paid for a completely floored basement, I shouldn't be involved in picking which areas are left undone. Still, Tim, their installation manager, did reach out after I reported the issues and was very gracious and willing to either schedule teams to come out or compensate us for our trouble. While I was able to resolve the issues above myself fairly easily, so didn't take him up on his offer, the fact that the company offered it was something I very much appreciated as all contractors will eventually run into issues, but it's how they respond that really makes the difference. Overall, I would likely use America's Floor Source again when we have flooring needs.

Love the floor! The salesman worked with me to get the best price I believe. And did not rush…read moreme into getting the sale. The installers were very efficient and got the floor installed in a timely manner. The floor itself was finished Sept 2, 2015 and so far so good. The only reason why I'm not giving a 5 is because it appeared that the company was dragging its feet on the final installation of the transition pieces. And when that man came (who did a fantastic job as well...Ron is his name) to do that job, he was not given enough material to totally finish the job. So another week passed, all-in-all the total time it took for the project to be completed was 3 weeks. Maybe I'm being impatient, but I was told that the material needed was available within 2 days of the actual floor having been laid down. So I couldn't understand why the job couldn't be finished sooner. Being frank here, I did put a dispute on the charges to make the company move. And it did seem to make them move more quickly. We consumers need to be treated with respect and customer service should be top notch, especially when spending this kind of money. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too nice....no more Miss Nice Girl here....tired of playing that game. I suggested to the installers that they be able to come out to help with the initial consultation/measuring of the rooms. He told me that he's been saying the same thing to the company. That is where the issue had come up...the wrong transition pieces were ordered and did not fit the space. Therefore, a job that could have been completed in one day and a couple hours the next day took 3 weeks. Though Rite Rug offered me the flooring I wanted. But because of the time delay, I'm not so sure I will be going back to them for future work.

It wasn't on our list of "places to visit before the year ends" but since she received a mail flyer to visit for a $25 gift card, gas up the minivan! Actually, it was only about 3 miles down the street. Besides the pleasant greeting by the lady at entrance, the first thing I noticed in the showroom was the bathroom systems and although I'm not a fan of see-through showers I liked what I saw. It had a great walk-in shower with a comfortable place for you to sit while enjoying the spray of multiple shower heads. Now that I'm older, that could definitely come in handy. Outside of functionality, it had a really great design (photo posted). I do think that when/if we decide to purchase a new system, this is where we'll go because the prices were decent. We made our way around the entire store and saw some nice examples of tiling for flooring, fireplaces and outer walls, but what stuck out to me was the bathroom. I strongly suggest you check it out.

They even loaded the items I needed in my car for me with caution and care. He didn't just throw the boxes in my car and that made me happy! They have a great selection of items however I think some items are a bit expensive for the quality like vanities & mirrors. However flooring and tile were priced accordingly based on quality. They do also offer delivery but it was really expensive. I think it was $300 and you had to be within a 60 mile radius. You're better off renting a truck or asking someone with a truck to help you if you're not that far.
