Great experience with Alka. She used sugar and finished up with threading. She even put some makeup on me when she was done and showed me how to do get the perfect brow look with a bit of makeup. So when I left I didn't look like I had just had my brows done (and all the redness that follows) My brows have never looked more perfect. Love how clean they are now. I have super thick eyebrows and usually have a more natural look, but Alka shaped them so nicely I'm ready to keep a cleaner look now. It's been almost 2 weeks and they look great still. The place is a nice location. I'm giving it two stars because the hairstylist greeted me with smiles and offered me wine. Alka was rude though. Went in 15 mins early. I saw her walk in and she asked me if I was meeting with a person with a similar name that started with an A' instead of her name and the service that was being provided. I said yes because I thought that was the person who was going to do the service. She sat down and was on her phone. I didn't notice the text messages that were being sent from her from across the room because I had it on silence mode and was reading my book. I then went to her and asked her to use the restroom. When I came out she asked me for my name, I told her and she said that I had an appointment with HER. She then says that she marked me as cancelled and I told her that she should've just asked me for my name! She then offers me a later time, an hour and a half later. I had to wait in my car. I came back and she says to make sure to text her when I get there. I tried to be friendly by asking her to tell me the history of sugar waxing because I like to make conversation while I get that type of service done. We got to the waxing but she was super passive aggressive and even said a racist remark because I look Latina. I told her that I heard that sugar waxing originated from Egypt. She then says that it originated somewhere else, I forgot what she said but she then said that there are lots of things that originate from different cultures, "just like tacos come from Mexico". Didn't make sense to me. I told her that I wouldn't know because I'm not Mexican. She then says that it was an analogy? Don't know how the conversation turned into food but to me it was super disrespectful. One of the worst experiences with someone. Maybe if I was Caucasian she probably would've been a little nicer. She needs to work on her customer service with the Latino community. Tried to leave this review on GroupOn but she never put it through. She needs to work on her customer service and learn the history of sugar waxing because she obviously didn't teach me anything but how ugly someone can get because of a little mistake made by a new and potential client. read more
