It's a typical HOOD style grocery store, like in a BET or Lifetime movie. Nothing special, nothing terrible. HOWEVER, BAAAABBY! When I tell you that little cashier in the mask and hijab wanted me OUT, that's what the #%£@ I mean ! First of all, no Hi. No Welcome. No Go to Hell. Nothing. Then funniest part is, she SHOVED that damned receipt in my hand so hard that she moved my arm! And it was AWKWARD too, because I had just collected my little bag, and my hand had not made it back to a "receive something" position; it was still side ways. Didn't matter! It felt like, "Here's your damn receipt BOY! Now GIT!" I'm sorry, I'm from a little further south, l KNOW racism when I FEEL it. For a small grocery store in Highland Park, they're produce is always FRESH & Plentiful. The area is a solid 10! They have the basic and plus some. Prechopped and otherwise. it's now to a point where the only place I'll buy produce from is here. Load baked potatoes on the menu, nope, I'm going to Glory! You can tell they rotate it throughout the day! if you shop with EBT benefits they match you dollar for dollar so that you can come back, just make sure to keep the receipt. You don't get that at the big name grocery stores. I gave four stars only because they have what you need, but there isn't a large variety of brands. read more

The store is actually pretty big inside! They offer a lot of food and some non-food products, but the produce is limited and not very fresh looking. I agree with a previous reviewer that I wish they'd do a better job of cleaning up the trash in front of their store, even if the stuff on the sidewalk is not technically the store's responsibility. Take a little pride in your location and the community you do business in! I think six years ago when I first discovered that this grocery store existed in Highland Park I was impressed that it was here at all, that it sold produce and that it was as big as it was. But with Aldi across the street and Meijer just up the road, this supermarket needs to get with the times and become a cleaner store that offers fresher produce. Highland Parker's have options now so you need to start treating them that way! read more

This in my case is one huge convenience store. I've bought ground beef that's pink on the outside and filled with brown stuff. This brown meat I have seen been sold is called "managers special." Fruit is ok at best but I've never been 100% satisfied with the selection. There is no deli selection and I've argued the price a few different times. Not that I was trying to haggle but simply because what the price is on the shelf isn't what always rings up at the register. Customer service is hit or miss and sadly to say it be from my own people (African american) that give the nasty attitude. The 1 good thing is my friend bought fresh produce on her benefit card and they matched her dollar for dollar on her next visit for fresh produce which I don't know if that's government doings or the store however I'll give glory the points. read more

I'm Giving This Grocery Store A One Star, Due To The Fact That It Completely Sucks! Breaking It Down Even Further This Particular Grocery Store Always Have A Distinctive Smell Of Meat As Soon As You Hit The Door. Which Tells Me, That Their Meat/Poultry Selection Is Not At All Fresh. Heck I Wouldn't Even Give This Store The One Star But I Have To Rate It. Moving Along The Overall Store Upkeep Is Not Clean. There Is constantly Dust Everywhere, Even On Their Products. I went to Glory to purchase the 100 calorie microwave popcorn made by Orville, Glory is the only marketing in my area that sells this popcorn and I was too lazy to drive to Kroger. So, the popcorn was 8 bucks at Glory, but at Kroger it is only $5.50. Okay, this ain't Kroger, then I noticed that they have the box that includes two free bags of popcorn. I look at the price and it's 11 bucks. At Kroger and Walmart the one that comes with the free boxes is the same price, hint FREE. Never again! read more
