I had numerous conversations with Stuart from mid August about options for leasing or buying a pickup. I was shopping around and was made aware by Stuart and other dealers that the price would be going up by £850 at the end of the month. Stuart came with various options and I decided and agreed to buy a Mitsubishi from them before the price rise, all documents were duly signed and forwarded, deposit paid and I was assured that I would get confirmation of delivery in a few days. I heard nothing. I emailed to Stuart no response, emailed again and copied in the MD Andrew (who had emailed me when I agreed to buy looking for proof of ID) - I still heard nothing. I tried phoning, Stuart was unavailable, he would ring back, he didn't. I rang again Stuart would be in that afternoon and would ring back he didn't (beginning to see the pattern??) I rang again, he hadn't come in he would definitely call me in the morning, he didn't. Here we are a week on and I emailed to Stuart, Andrew, and sales Manager asking if anyone was able to give me an update on delivery. Got to speak to a sales manager Mark who can now tell me that Stuart made a big mess of the finance agreement and the sale can't go through, the vehicle is now £850 more expensive and they can only lease one to me and sell it on to me after 2 years. I told him this wasn't acceptable, he would check with the very silent MD and see if there was something they could do - he thought there might be, he would ring me back by 3pm.Can you guess what happened?? Yes, no phone call. An email to say they can't do anything better than the lease I was offered and he'll email a cancellation form for my deposit. So I wonder the following:
When did they realise the mistake?
Why did I have to keep on hounding them to get told of this?
If I hadn't, when would they have bothered to tell me?
Why, if Stuart was unavailable to talk could no-one else bother to tell me what had happened?
Why, if it's the MD who sent out asking for ID didn't he either realise the mess and rectify or inform me? (He is a very quiet man I believe)
When am I going to get the magical cancellation form? The form for buying was produced as I spoke on the phone to Stuart, the cancellation form, it would appear, takes significantly longer to produce!!
Don't deal with these guys, their communication is non existent and they aren't interested once they have your deposit! A decent company would have owned up to their mistake right away and not just ignored the customer hoping they'd go away! read more
