They charged me $230 plus a late fee of $40! $270 for storage monthly if I were late paying! I was robbed for 3 years by this shady company! Rodents can eat your belongings and my furniture grew white mold on it! I had an ants nest inside my couch! read more

I just started using the Global Self Storage unit in Lima, Ohio so I can only judge by my initial impressions. I was impressed with the condition of the property. It looks well maintained and has spacious spacing between buildings. I rented a climate-controlled unit and the inside of the building and unit were very clean and in good condition. The receptionist was very kind and easy to talk to and handled my sign-up with no problem. The contract is displayed on a monitor and the receptionist explained each part and I signed where indicated. This was one area I though could be better. Essentially, I simply typed my initials and name. I would think a contract like this should have had a stylus entry for my initials and signature to better reflect my actual initials and signature. The completed contract was emailed to me for my records. If I was so impressed with Global Self Storge, why did I rate only 4 stars? It has to do with what climate-controlled means. Global Self Storage, will regulate the temperature but does not regulate humidity. Nor does it provide a backup for the HVAC system in case of power outage. I think both of these are needed for a truly climate-controlled space (although I do believe that temperature is the more important function). I recommend Global Self Storage in Lima, Ohio to anyone wanting to store their possessions. read more
