I recently hired Genius Roof to reroof my home and I strongly recommend this company. I had several…read moredifferent roofing companies give me bids on installing a new roof. I was very impressed with the management team at Genius Roof. They are both college graduates, very courteous, and very knowledgeable about all different aspects of roofing. They had to coordinate with my contractor who was adding a screen porch to my house. They also coordinated with a spray foam company to add additional foam to some areas that could only be accessed when the roof was off. My house had several decorative metal dormer vents that were in very bad shape. Instead of replacing them they suggested that I could just remove them since my house was spray foamed and they weren't useful. They installed Owens Corning lifetime full replacement shingles. When the crew came they removed the old roof and installed the new one in two days. They were very meticulous about picking up any trash from the project. They even had an employee come by the next day to do another search for any miscellaneous nails or shingles. I am very pleased with my new roof. I have had several friends & neighbors compliment me on how great it looks.

They gave me a $600 quote for gutter cleaning and gutter guard repairs. They missed 4 appointments…read morethat were scheduled on nice days over the course of 6 weeks with no call or explanation. When they finally did show up unannounced on a Sunday morning at 7:40, they did a botched gutter guard repair on one corner of the house and nothing else. The next day I received a call from Justin stating the job was completed. The repair person, Bryan, apparently thought nobody was home since I didn't open any blinds or make any noise and thought he could get away with billing me for the whole job. I have high gutters and can't check them myself, however, I watched everything that was done through the blinds for the 1 hour that they were "on the job". I let Justin know that Bryan had lied about doing the complete job and there was no way I was going to pay $600 for an unsatisfactory gutter guard repair and an incomplete job, and more so, didn't appreciate Bryan lying about it and trying to rip me off. I was told that they would call me back and schedule another person to get the job done but they didn't follow through with that either. Just as well, they obviously can't do the job anyway.

Two gentlemen promptly arrived and got on the roof. To our surprise, instead of trying to sell them a new roof, they were honest and said a shingle was loose. They proceeded to fix what they saw was loose. During this time, you have to be careful of everyone scamming you, especially our older generation. The process was super easy, they were available any time I had questions and they did a great job. The crew cleaned up the yard really well when done taking the time to put things where they were before (or at least close enough that some fine tuning by me wasn't a problem). I would recommend them to anyone looking for a roofing company to do work or just give an inspection. I dealt with Stuart Lawyer and his number is (205)337-4911 or their office at (205) 974-8500. Vanya the pup however was really happy to see them leave. :-)

Manager Bradley Ramey came out promptly, confirmed significant hail damage, and guided us through the insurance claim process with Auto-Owners. Even when our initial claim was denied, Bradley didn't give up. He quickly sourced storm data proving hail had hit our area and resubmitted the evidence. Thanks to his persistence and expertise, our claim was approved within a week. Shortly after, Steel City installed a beautiful, top-quality 30-year roof valued at $28,500--with only our deductible out of pocket. This was a masterclass in professionalism, persistence, and customer care. Steel City Roofers truly went above and beyond, and we couldn't be more grateful. Highly recommend!
