The company was eventually contacted after a hail storm in my area. They indicated that the roof…read moreneeded to be replaced and my insurance company agreed. We were adamant during our discussions with the owner Mike Parlier and sales representative Hayden Stewart the requirements for licensure with the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board and with permitting from the city in which we both reside in. The contract stipulated the permit requirement. After multiple delays due to weather and the business owner scheduling the roof was installed on June 26th. Throughout the process, we had been informed that the roof would require a two day installation, however it was installed in one long day with less than an hour on the second day. We requested a copy of the required permit, since one had not been previously provided and we received multiple excuses as to why it could not be provided. Ultimately, we learned that this company is not licensed by the State of Alabama (requirement for roofers), and that the necessary roofing permits were not pulled for our property. We are a requesting a full refund, since the work performed was not permitted. It is extremely upsetting that these individuals sat in our home and presented themselves as reputable contractors. Mr. Parlier even made jokes about "taillight roofers" (roofers that once their tail lights disappear, so do they). However, it appears that Alabama Roofing Professionals/American Roofing Professionals are deploying some of the same tactics. Hopefully, this will encourage the business owner to do the right thing and refund our monies that have been paid to them.
