After two sessions this week he suggested I get a massage (as I hadn't had one for a "few" years). I had a knot in my lower back that just wouldn't listen to his care. So Wednesday morning I called into their office and got in to see Keziah that afternoon. OH MY GOD!! She was awesome!!! Although Dr Fleck recommended all the massage therapists in his office, I was able to get her in short notice. It was the best deep tissue massage I ever had and she knew exactly how much pressure to apply. Where to apply it and for how long. I was able to dance my way out of the office that afternoon and still moving perfectly today. Because of Keziah I'll be able to golf on Friday with no concerns. So if anyone wants a recommendation for a massage therapist contact Baseline Chiropractic and Wellness Center and asked for Keziah Ragui. And a recommendation for a chiropractor would be Dr. Fleck. The office is in a new complex so it looks awesome and they always keep it clean. It's a friendly atmosphere to walk into and the comfort feeling is definitely strong. I can't say I have used any other services such as acupuncture, massage or nutritionist but it is a nice option to have all in the same place.

My son plays a lot of sports, along with several extreme sports, and along with his growth spurts, things get out of whack. He has seen Fiona for physio and she takes the time to perform a solid assessment of what's happening. She explains it and then explains treatment. She's very patient with my inquisitive son and it always feels as though the recommended number of treatments is what I anticipate. I've been to some that it feels like they are just ensuring future revenue and suggest too many sessions (I could be wrong though to be fair) My husband has RSI and as a computer programmer, he is VERY particular about how works on his back and shoulders. He sees Erin for massage therapy and is always amazed at how good of a job she does. After a couple of sessions the first time he went in, he was floored at how well his arms/shoulders were feeling. She does deep tissue massage and knows the body extremely well. I personally have used Erin for massage therapy and acupuncture. I was going through a lot of emotional issues and if it hadn't been for her, I probably would be sitting in a corner and rocking... She did acupuncture to help with emotional stability and made a believer out of me for acupuncture. She also has given me massages to help with my headaches (stress related). Now let's talk about the front desk... A level of understanding of insurance and billing won't be found elsewhere! But my visits to Dr. Mana here have been very helpful at getting me up and moving again. She uses a combination of percussion massage, impulse, ultrasound, and laser treatments to keep me more mobile. She's a delight in person, and quite gentle. Also, they can direct bill my Great West insurance, so I know by the end of my appointment how much I need to pay for the day. Usually only about $10 on our plan.

It went a little crazy and somehow got turned up really high. It really freaked me out because it hurt. From then on, my therapist massaged me herself - no more machines - which I really appreciated. My experience at Primus Physiotherapy with Meagan Beauchamp was unpleasant and unprofessional…read more My initial session lasted less than 15 minutes, I was rushed through two stretches on my own and one weight bearing exercise. When I asked for a stretch to be demonstrated a second time, I was denied and dismissed. I was not given heat or any proper warm up before conducting the first weight bearing exercise on my injured ankle, which resulted in two days of extreme pain and being unable to walk on the ankle. I signed a contract upon arrival of my initial appointment, stating that I needed to received the proper approval from insurance for any following session. Failure to do so would result in myself being responsible for any costs associated. As soon as I received confirmation from insurance, I went in for the next available appointment. On the second appointment, Meagan greeted me with an arrogant and condescending attitude. She accused me of not taking my recovery process seriously. She stated that I should have taken her verbal advice and booked appointments immediately-before receiving approval, versus the written contract that I signed and agreed to. She continued to yell to me and repeatedly argued her point as she walked to the opposite side of the room with the curtains between us and everyone in the room to hear. I finally had enough and stated that I was not willing to argue with her and that I followed the protocol laid out by Primus. As someone in customer service, I can't imagine ever talking to another adult like this and expecting to still earn their business. I was then rushed through another 15 minute session where I was shown one exercise that I did not have the equipment for at home. Again, no heat or any hands on stretching or machines. And again feeling like I received the bare minimum of treatment. I have since switched over to Whitemud Physiotherapy and the experience has been completely different. I have had many great physiotherapists in the past and this felt like the professional treatment and experience that I have become accustomed to. Initial session lasted about two hours. I was greeted in a friendly and kind manner, given heat upon arrival, manual hands-on therapy was done on the affected areas, a machine was used to increase the blood flow. I was given very clear step by step instructions as to stretching and exercises-that can be done at home without the use of any other props. I highly recommend Whitemud Physiotherapy if you want the best care for your recovery. It was a very positive experience from start to finish.

Can you imagine what an exorcism feels like?…read more I dunno but it must be similar to the feeling you get when the aches, pains, and stiffness have been liberated from your body by Dr. Thor Gilbertson after an adjustment. I would call him The Mighty Thor even if Marvel hadn't already published a comic book of the same name. My wife was seeing The Mighty One for dry needling (IMS, that is - not needling as in teasing - I think) so I decided to go in for said adjustment as I thought it would be a better use of my time than reading People magazine in the reception area. I'm also a glutton for pain. (Not that a chiropractic adjustment is painful. More on that later.) It's my attraction to pain that forces me to sleep in the trunk of my car on my belly with a spare tire for a blanket. So needless to say, after a few months of this I needed to be un-pretzled. (I never know how bad it truly was until after I see the doc.) Dr. Gilbertson is witty, personable, and likes hockey. He totally places you at ease while he's snapping your neck. And no, it doesn't hurt. His admin person, Natasha, is also totally friendly and charming. She makes me feel a little bad that I'll never truly be that outgoing and captivating. All in all, a visit to Dr. Gilbertson's office could be the feel-good day of anyone's week. For the past few days I've been running backwards into walls just to give myself a legit reason to go back there. He does more than just adjustments and dry needling. He also does active release therapy and something called radial shockwave therapy. I'm not sure what that is but I picture it involving an Electric Chair. I'll look for one next time I'm there. In the meantime, I have walls to bang into and trunks to sleep in.

When I called to make an appointment, I was able to get one within a few days. The office is in Callingwood Market so free parking. Natasha is the woman that answers the phone, greets visitors, processes payments, and everything else. Every time I was there, she was always so pleasant even though she's busy. They also do direct billing with insurance companies. The first time I saw Dr. Gilbertson, he asked me about what was going on and I told him my issue. He used needles on my back and bottom. I'm used to acupuncture needles so I wasn't nervous or concerned of the process. I also read about IMS before the visit. He also said chiropractic treatment would not help me at this point and may even make it worse. I went a few more times and he put the needles in my leg as well and one time I felt it woke up my leg down to my foot! After my last visit, Dr. Gilbertson asked me if I felt better after the treatments and I did but it was temporary and didn't last long. This is where I felt Dr. Gilbertson cares about people first and patients second. He advised me what he thought I should do and told me if I wanted acupuncture in the future to go back. But he did not tell me keep coming back because he wanted my $85/treatment. I felt he genuinely cared about my well being even if that meant not seeing me again. He is a good and busy professional as there's a steady stream of patients coming in and going out. With so many health professionals, only wish we had more like Dr. Gilbertson around.
