They came to our offices to ensure that their staff would be comfortable, which I found was above and beyond other agencies. Keep up the awesome work :)

Despite deciding to go with different employment not offered by TPD I still have alot of respect…read morefor this staffing agency and how well they take care of their workers. I initially came in around springtime after deciding to try and pick up another part time job to save money for moving. I answered TPD's ad for concession associates at Rexall and received a call about coming in for an interview the same day I sent out the resume. I will say when you come down to their office it is rather small and just not the type of place you would expect a professional staffing company to place their location at. The lady I met with though was very polite, professional, and kind. I really appreciated how well she treated me despite the fact I looked horrifying that day due to an extremely bad head cold. We went through their policies and procedures handbook and I really got the feeling that worker safety and respectful treatment is at the forefront of their concerns. I mentioned that to her when we were done and she let me know that there are several companies that TPD no longer provides staff for due to employee concerns about scheduling, safety, and overall poor treatment. I thought this was nice as I hear alot of stories from regular temp agency users about how they don't feel the agency is a strong enough representative for them and their rights as they don't want to upset the clients. I was also surprised with how good the pay was for that particular position as I had applied for it once before several years ago directly through Northlands and they were only offering minimum wage at the time and I know that policy hasn't changed since I applied all those years ago whilst still in college. TPD however offers their workers $11.00/hour and I believe they also have a health plan for their workers once they pass 3 months. Had I not found better paying opportunities on my own shortly after meeting with them I gladly would have stuck with TPD. They treat their workers well and while I find alot of the other agencies in the city seem to deal mostly with office and trades workers TPD had an abundance of opportunities for retail and hospitality workers like myself.

Their testing process takes over an hour with an arbitrary way of assessing skills on Word and Excel, and requiring long division by hand without a calculator. They really got to the root of what I was looking for and understood my needs. It took them less than a week to find me a placement. I am extremely happy. They call to check up on you and the employer is happy with the two placements here. Perhaps if you don't have follow up from them after they have interviewed and tested your skills you may not be the right fit for the company. There are other agencies out there that will take anyone and place you anywhere. This results in unhappy employers and employees. Choice makes sure that all parties are happy and go out of their way to ensure you have continual success during your placement. I was referred to Choice by 2 friends and I would refer others without a second thought.

Tariq was extremely unprofessional. He submitted documents to the CRA without my consent. After I…read moreconfronted him about it, he refused to fix the issue, and instead cursed at me MANY times. When I escalated this to the management, they refused to speak to me to address the situation. After many days of persistence, Hanuradha spoke to me once, and emailed me once that they can't do anything and they refuse to take liability. Basically saying too bad, and took no responsibility of the mishap, or fixing the issue. Then they just stopped responding altogether. I never got a refund, and I had to hire another accountant to fix their mess ups. They originally speak very politely but stop responding after taking your money and incorrectly filing WITHOUT permission. Don't go to this company regardless of a cheap price.

No, I know what you're thinking. 5 stars for a law firm? But lawyers are the worst! (No, no they're…read morenot. Graduate students are the worst: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXvv5sTqNa4) I was in this car accident thing last year - not my fault - and I had never been involved in a serious accident before - like, police report filed type of serious - and at this point is this still a sentence - or is there a limit to the number of dashes one can write in one sentence? Anyway, I had no idea what the process was, or what all of these papers were that I was supposed to sign, so I visited my brand new lawyer friend at McLennan Ross. Lawyers super duper intimidate me (maybe because I use words like "super duper" and they don't) but the woman I met with was fantastic. FANTASTIC. So clear, explained everything to me so thoroughly, and never made me feel like I was stupid. No question was off the table. She totally "got it" that I had never gone through something like this before, so of course I had no idea what was going on. Nicest, smartest, most awesome lawyer lady ever. (Does it sound like I have an intellectual crush here? Because I do.) If you ever need a lawyer, seriously, call these guys. Rockstars. That's what they are.

I have found them to be knowledgeable, thorough and reliable. The response times - especially from James - are actually very impressive when compared with other larger firms I've dealt with. Their charge-out rates are relatively higher than most - but you get what you pay for - and I'm okay with that trade-off. They also host an annual employment law update conference (spring of each year, I believe) which is a good overview/discussion of the latest trends in employment law.

We are not only writing this review for Mr. Singh as we are grateful to him but also for other people who are in immigration doldrums. Our case was complex as described by two other lawyers I approached before reaching out to Mr. Singh. He is very detail orientated, enquired about our relationship and jotted down each small detail on paper and put forward our case effectively. He did an excellent job and guided us on the whole immigration process: communicating with us on every step of progress. We were never left alone at any point of time during the process. Apart from being professional, Mr. Singh is gentleman and listen to needs of his clients patiently. We would not only use Singh Law office again but would also highly recommend them to anyone looking for immigration law services.
