Needless to say this shop has no bells and whistles, but I've found they consistently offer a much better deal on foreign exchange than the banks, and it's a fast friendly service as well. They also seem to offer some kind of money transfer services between here and China, not that I've used this service but it would be useful if I had a bank account it China.

Their prices are generally 10% or so cheaper than other places. They also have a stock of off cuts, which can be good for those fiddly little jobs where you just need a small amount of wood. The one thing that always drives me a bit nuts here is that they won't cut wood for you while you wait; you have to book it in. That can be a pain if you're not working or living nearby, especially if you want to go and look at things first rather than just make a phone order. They also sell a big range of mistints/end of line paints imported from America at ridiculously cheap prices.

Old school, no nonsense, great work and no heart attack when the bill comes. That's what you want, and that's what I've had from Hoffman Plumbers. The vanity unit the plumber connected is heavy mahogany, marble and brass. That didn't stop the guy lifting it, and somehow carrying it through the bathroom and setting it down at the right spot before connecting it. That alone shows the above and beyond level of service - you can trust these guys to get it done correctly.
