Just last week I bought some beautiful painted ceramic pots and blush pink candlesticks. I'm also pretty obsessed with their gold hanging planters at the moment... seriously, I could go nuts in this shop! When I was in my early 20's I loved their jewellery but I think my tastes have changed over the years! If you need a gift for someone who is into home decor and likes that Scandi look, look no further!

We called him up to inquire about installing our new dishdrawers, which was more complicated than usual since there was no obvious plumbing left behind from the previous home owners. Regardless Nick came around the next day and said it wouldn't be a problem for him to install the dishwasher straight away. Within the hour we had a functioning dishwasher. Winning all round! Highly recommend.

The last time I had to hire a plumber, Hoffman Plumbers came to the party with flying colours…read more What you will get from Hoffman is a solid work done for a fair price. Old school, no nonsense, great work and no heart attack when the bill comes. That's what you want, and that's what I've had from Hoffman Plumbers. The vanity unit the plumber connected is heavy mahogany, marble and brass. That didn't stop the guy lifting it, and somehow carrying it through the bathroom and setting it down at the right spot before connecting it. That alone shows the above and beyond level of service - you can trust these guys to get it done correctly.

AA advised Armstrong would be there in 15-60 minutes. They arrived after about 80 minutes. When the locksmith arrived, he got to work without delay, however he never really spoke to us. We waited near the car with our 11 month old baby for TWO HOURS while the locksmith continued trying to create a replacement key. At no stage did the locksmith bother to tell us it would take hours, or we would have found another way to get our daughter home right away. After more than 2 hours, we asked what was happening and the locksmith said it would be another half hour. At this stage, we got our daughter home in an Uber. After another hour the locksmith said he didn't know how to create a replacement key. We got another locksmith out the next day who explained it would take a few hours and that we didn't need to be there. They created the replacement key without any fuss. We have now had to phone and ask Armstrong for their invoice 3 times ($180 for the call-out!) so we can submit it with an insurance claim. They keep promising to send the invoice but have failed to do so.

The Cylinder Guy got his unregistered plumber to attend the leak and was full of reasons as to why it was leaking due to the weather changing and then that the plumber was registered but not with the Plumbing Gas fitting Drain laying Board but another company. None of these conversations were followed up with emails as requested so I called in another plumbing company at my expense. Lucky that I did as there was a safety valve missing under the house, no siesmic restraint and the drain pipe that would have dripped over my back steps and was a serious health hazard has now been done properly. We have complained to the Plumbing Gas Fitting Drain Laying Board and await there reply on how The Cylinder Guy who is not a registered plumber can send unregistered plumbers out to do such an important job, my cylinder is no longer a time bomb waiting to go off but a safe new addition to my home. The Cylinder guy is a cowboy who hires sales staff who can talk the talk but not walk the walk. Beware of this guy and my recommendation is that he cease trading until he can provide a safe installation of cylinders - how many other time bombs are in homes without customers knowing this information.

Plus the Auckland winters and a carpet free lounge also don't mix... But these are just facts my wife provided me, as she elbowed me in the ribcage as I rushed to go play golf. So on my way to the club, I decided it would be the right thing to do, and I made a slight detour to stop at Flooring Xtra in Albany. The only reason I knew about them in the first place, is because they are opposite the golf shop. The shop doesn't look like much from street level, but once you're inside, it is filled with samples and off cuts for you to feel and look at. The staff seems well informed, and the prices appeared reasonable. It is a good place to get valuable information about carpeting or any flooring issues you might have. In the end I decided on getting a cheap rug; this way my son can do with it as he likes, and we can put it away in the summer.
