Person works from inside their apartment. Texted to let them know I was outside the building. No response. Tried to call several times. Nothing. I waited 15mins without any sort of response and decided to leave. Very unprofessional to say your business is appointment only, then you waste your potential customer's time by forgetting they have an appointment and not have the common courtesy to respond back. Update: My appointment was for 11:30am and it is now 9:47pm and I haven't received a call back or even a text back apologizing for today's mishap! The positive reviews were probably from friends of this so called business owner because any respectable business would NOT operate like this!

My iPhone 6 screen cracked, and I was looking to find a place close by to repair it. Right away, I…read morewant to say that the service is really good but not typical so I thought everyone else should at least know what to expect. I texted the number as requested and we eventually agreed to meet at a pre-specified time a few hours later. As someone previously mentioned, the individual works out of his apartment building. He came down to meet me when I texted that I had arrived at the corner of West Pender and Broughton Street. He immediately provided me with a business card, showing that he was with iPhone Doctor, then assessed my phone, checking if the screen was still functional aside from the screen being cracked. Within 10-15 seconds he said my screen is repairable, and that he would be back in 15 minutes. Obviously, for a person whom you just met one minute earlier, to hand over your phone and watch him walk back into the building with your phone can be a bit nerve wrecking ... especially since he has your phone, and there is no way to stay in contact with him (in case you need to leave for whatever reason, or if you want to check in with him if it is taking longer than expected). So you wait outside until your phone is ready. It ended up taking 30 minutes instead of 15 before he came back down and presented the phone back to me, perfectly functional with a new screen and with a screen protector on it. Then he handed me a warranty card good for 120 days, and said my total was $89 (including taxes), for which he took a visa card for payment. The gentlemen was extremely polite. Overall, I am happy with the repair job and thought the price was very reasonable. I'd refer a friend to him for a screen repair, but I do think at least one review on here should outline what you can expect during your visit so you can wait with peace of mind while the repair is happening. Thanks for your help!

I managed to smash the glass of my OnePlus One screen and render the touchscreen digitizer useless. It should have been in a case but those aren't too easy to find locally. As I'm on a small fixed income I ordered the broken parts from China for $25. It took forever. Unfortunately the phone glass is fused with glue to the LCD so it is very difficult to replace one without damaging the other. Nevertheless, Sukhy gave it a shot, despite having never worked on this model of phone before. Prior to going to BeyondScreen I went to another repair place that flat out refused.. And I used to work there! Even though we couldn't use the old LCD, he managed to get a replacement screen in much faster than if I'd ordered it from China, and knocked a big chunk off my bill despite all the extra work he'd done, and having had to learn a whole new phone. It looks and works great and I am very satisfied.

Fantastic service and reasonable price…read more I brought in my brother's iPhone while he was in hospital, and it was thoroughly screwed up. The down volume button was not working, which is also required with the power button to turn off. The lightning port was not working, so you could not charge or sync by cable. The ringer toggle switch was frozen in the off position so you could not hear if someone called or texted you. Basically it had experienced severe liquid damage from exceptionally sweet sugary liquid, and all that sugar had turned rock solid. The gentleman at VanCell diagnosed the issue on the spot. He suggested that the best fix was to replace the housing and charging port, which would be about 3 hours labour plus parts. By housing I mean the entire external part of the phone aside from the front glass, containing all the volume, power and ringer buttons. He literally had to open the phone, remove ALL the internal parts, re-install them in a new housing and then re-seal the entire device. That sounded pricey but the phone is relatively new and quite expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when he quoted me a net price of $190 pre-tax. It was closing time but he said he could do it the next day and have it done by afternoon. I picked it up at 4pm the following day and it literally looked and worked like a brand new phone. He had also thrown in a new screen protector to replace the cracked one I brought it in with. I had forgotten to bring the charging cord and block with me to bring to my brother, so I added them as well. The final bill for the parts and labour, screen protector, cord, charging block and tax was $240. That seemed extremely reasonable to me, as I'm an industrial electrician and would be billed out at WAY more than that for 3 hours labour plus materials. I live in New Westminster myself, but if I ever need work on my own phone I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Everyone needs to know a few good, key trades people in life...a good plumber, electrician and mechanic, and in today's world of $1 to 2k flagship phones, a good smart phone technician. VanCell is that guy.

Only 3 weeks later my screen cracks again I go back and he says it'll cost me $65 dollars... I was so surprised. I told him he had charged me $45 earlier and he said he did not, he would never. He was in fact changing the prices up because he charged another customer $65 rather then $50 while I was in the shop. The employees change the price depending on how people interact with them which is absolutely ridiculous.
