The ladies at Glo-Cypress are very sweet. Today I went for 3 services: hydration, Omni Lux facial and halo. I tried the new salt they have for the halo. It really opened my sinuses up. I do think $5 extra is a little much for the 2 tablespoon of special salt. But I don't plan on getting the "special" salt often. I really enjoy the hydration. It is one of my favorite services. Tans are fine, but I came in 6+ months ago to move to the lowest membership due to me being pregnant and not using the full package I had previously to get the nicer bed prior to my wedding. When I was here last I notified them and they confirmed they had changed the billing to be a lower amount. 6 months later (yes I should've paid closer attention) I realized they've still been charging me $62+ a month and said that because their sales rep did not make me "sign the documents" that no change was ever made and they will not reimburse me the almost $400 paid over the past 6 months. Have never had great service here but I didn't care since I was just in and out for a tan, but they didn't even offer to use it as a credit on my account which I would've then continued to keep if that were the case. read more

Despite reading the previous reviews, I had the curiosity to try the place out. It is located between Hintze Dance and Green Garden. My first visit here was not horrible at all. As a first time customer with this place, I had to fill out and sign a sheet of paper. The lady asked me about my skin and tanning experience. Having tanned before in the past, I had an idea of the different levels of the beds. However, the lady explained to me the different levels and the various packages Glo-Sun Spa offers. Also she mentioned that if you do purchase a tanning lotion, you can upgrade to any bed level at a much discounted price for 1 month. I didn't ask about the range of cost of their lotions, but I have in the past on my first experience with a different tanning salon. If I remember correctly, a bottle of one of the lotions I bought previously was about $60. They are strict about the lotions you bring, which is normal at other tanning salons. You cannot use those self-tanning lotions from your local HEB, Wal-Mart, etc. There is a note with the prohibited lotions you cannot use at the front desk. If you are on a budget and don't want to buy a lotion from Glo-Sun Spa, then online shop for tanning bed lotions. I found my current one discounted from a website and brought it in. There are several locations in Houston, and you can drop by any to tan. Just be sure the whole 24 hours has passed for you to tan again. In conclusion, my experience here has been good so far. Great beds but they tend to remain in the back not at the front desk pretty much each time I've been in.

I would recommend the one on 1960 the spray tan is $15 cheaper there. Also I got here at 5:35 and they shut the spray tans down 15 mins prior to closing so she said maybe she would be able to let me use it today. I would think she would let me squeeze in the tan for the night. Not sure about customer service here. She was also chatting with a customer when I came in about nothing and could of cut it short to save time. Idk I didn't prefer this location at all. read more

I'm writing this a tad late but the experience my daughter had for her homecoming was horrific considering I wasn't with her. She was accused of stealing but only after waiting until she went into the tanning room to pull her boyfriend to the front desk and to make a scene about security footage that she thought she took off the front desk but it didn't show anything but her grabbing a Boucher and then had the audacity to pull her into a private room right next to the front desk infront of everyone waiting and to accuse a minor of stealing. ABSOLUTELY horrific for a parent to hear that happened. The staff has been incredibly rude every time I've gone in but I liked the tan but after that I never went back. read more

Glo is wonderful. I don't tan but I use the spa services. The red and blue light facial really helps with skin tone and wrinkles. Body balance helps with cellulite and overall skin health and joint pain. I love the hydro massage! After sitting at desk all day it's great to get out and relax. Spray tans look beautiful. This review is for the costumer service and tanning beds- I have not tried the spray tanning. This place is wonderful! I've been to this one, the Spring location, the Waugh location, and the one on 59 and this is by far the best location! The people there are so sweet and actually make an effort to remember my name unlike the others (I used to live near the Waugh location). The place is very clean every time I go, so I'm not sure what the person previously experienced. Aaand they carry awesome stuff! I bought this shimmer powder they had on sale for super cheap. It normally runs $60 and they sold it for $20. It's great stuff. They also just started selling Lipsense! I tried this lipgloss for the first time because I hear so many great things about it and I love it! It's awesome that Glo carries it and so many colors. I love their variety of great quality tanning beds and I love their customer service. Keep it up you guys! read more

The owner was extremely rude to me and my bf over six dollars I got charged for Prep lotion for the spray tan machine . I wish someone would review her camerAs bc she is not someone I would want to represent the Glo co. Not impressed with this place. I got a month of sunless tanning- 1. service isn't all that great... they almost seem bothered by anyone who comes in 2. I went to get a spray tan 15 min before closing (it literally takes 5 min for a spray) and they said no because there was already someone getting one done and they're about to close... so I won't be going back. read more

Absolute WORST location. I have to wait almost every time I come here since they only have one spray tan machine, but today topped the cake. I came in while one of the employees was giving a tour of the facilities. I went to the front desk where I gave the other employee my name and told her what I wanted to do. She told me the other three women were in front of me... okay fine I'll wait. I sat there and waited while they finished the tour, explained the different packages, answered questions and upsold products to them all while there was NO ONE SPRAY TANNING. I could have easily gone ahead while they finalized their memberships, but instead they had me sit there and wait for nothing. When I finally realized what was going on I asked why they had me wait all that time for nothing their response was "Oh we didn't know"... You didn't know what? There were contracts to sign and cards to swipe and details to finalize? I got the impression that new customers were more important than established ones, and if that is the case I can take my money somewhere else. While my time may not be important to them it is very valuable to me, and I will not be coming back to this location. read more

I have been a happy member of this spa for 4 years!! And I absolutely love it here! There are so many options of personal care that I didn't get at Darque Tan. The beds. Fit Wrap, well EVERYTHING is ALWAYS clean. And I absolutely love love love all the sweet ladies who work there! I feel at home when I get there every time. I've been coming here for a year with my groupon and have always had a pleasant experience. The women here are always sweet and they know what they're talking about! I upgraded to the deluxe membership last weekend and it's totally worth it! I love my tan and I've only had to wait for a bed a few times. You can only come every 24 hours for health reasons and the restrict what lotions they use in their beds. I've tanned at several other places and this is by far my favorite, the girls here even remember my name. Would definitely recommend! read more

Today I went in to buy a membership but Kristie (Christie?) the sales advisor was very pushy and condescending and turned me off to buying a membership at this location. She continually kept talking over me and did not seem like she cared or was concerned about my concerns that I had brought up- and that made me feel very uneasy which eventually led me to leave the location without buying the membership that I had originally intended to get when I came in. Me and my girls have been members here for more then 5 years, we love this place in cypress. The owner Christie and all the ladies that work there are fabulous and super helpful and sweet. This place is extremely busy and they are always there to help with any questions while working clients in and keeping the Spa clean. To read these negative post are just ridiculous. Came here with a groupon for a month of spray tanning. Needless to say I came only once. My tan came out streaky and the bottom of my feet were turned a terrible shade of orange since no disposable foot papers were given (which I have been supplied with at other salons). Here I am at glo sun spa.. in champions and spring Cypress.. i bought three months at a time worth of spray tan..so I did it twice so far and the lady that signed me up insisted that I buy the skin fit performance gel.. it was so expensive but I was dukked into buying it seeing that the lady knew what she was supposedly talking about..I kept getting a horrible spray tan after word..so the next time I came in the other lady at the counter said..why are you using that..that's for a tanning bed. The employees are very uninterested & will literally walk to the back if a customer comes in. Employees will also gossip about other customers while there are customers right in front of them. I was so disappointed with this Glo Sun Spa this location and they are individually owned,which makes sense because their corporate office would not stand for such behavior by a manager. I recently bought a Groupon for the level 1 bed and chose this location, because it was close to my home. I was harassed from Day one as to what kind of lotion I was using. I brought the lotion in on my 3rd Tan,and was told my lotion is not excepted to tan their, it's a name brand and indoor tanning lotion,it was not good enough for their beds. I have never been so insulted, and basically felt like if I did not buy their lotion I could not tan their. They really do not deserve a 1 star. I was loud and ugly and meant to be after what the Owner told me. I would think twice about ever doing business here whether it be tanning or spa treatments. The older/ middle aged women who work here are SO unbelievably rude and disrespectful. (Disclaimer: I'm not easily offended- this is the first bad review I've ever written about a business. THAT'S how upset they made me!) They constantly hassle and grill you to buy their extremely over-priced lotion. I guess they get commission?! And you can't just politely say, 'no thanks.' They will question you and nag and lecture you every time you come in if you don't. The last time I went, the woman at the counter- some much older woman with brown hair- hassled me ONCE AGAIN to buy lotion, and when I said no, she was SO condescending. She said, "we offer VERY cheap tanning. We have to make our money back somehow..That's how we allow you to get a year's worth of tanning so cheap." ALLOW ME? You sold it to me. I paid for it. If lotion was a requirement, you should've made it part of the deal at the time I bought it. If I want to damage my skin, or tan with my own lotion I bought somewhere else, and that's not okay with y'all- you should tell me before I spend my money with your business. Also, just because I bought the cheap package does not mean your service is some kind of charity. It's not the Salvation Army soup kitchen. It's a tanning salon. I bought something from you. You should render the services agreed upon without harassing me and treating me like a second class citizen. At least have a LITTLE respect for your customers. read more

I have never in my life wasted my time writing a review, but as I'm sitting here at Glo Sun Spa once again waiting in a robe for the Versa after doing the hydration station I figured I would put my time to good use. This is exactly why I'm not able to use my membership as much as I would like to. Every time I go I'm in there for over an hour. Mind you I'm not one of those people that takes for ever in the beds. I spend 30+ mins just waiting for the Versa. I wouldn't be so upset if this was the first time that this has happened. Every time I make it quite clear that I will be spray tanning after I complete the hydration station. Yet for some reason every time I complete the hydration they have put ppl in front of me. I could understand if there was someone in the Versa just finishing up, but no this time not only is there someone just starting the Versa there is also 2 other people in front of me to tan. As fast as I am about getting in and out of the beds I should be in there 30 mins top. Yet, once again it's going to take an hour because I spend 30 mins naked waiting in a robe so I can use the Versa. It's a shame because I really do enjoy the place but it's just not worth the money if I'm not able to get use out of it. read more
