I've been a client of this salon for over 20 years on and off while living in NYC, and have always…read moreappreciated the quality of work. At my most recent appointment, I had a very uncomfortable experience. After being seated, I was addressed in front of others about a comment that my hair is "never right" and that my stylist may not be the right fit for me. This was not what I intended, and it felt embarrassing to have that conversation publicly while already in the chair. There have been times where I've needed minor adjustments after seeing the final color fully styled, which have always been addressed and corrected without issue. I continued to return because I was generally happy with the end result. I completely understand that concerns about adjustments may need to be discussed, and I respect that not every client/stylist relationship is the right fit. However, I would have appreciated a private conversation beforehand rather than being put in that position at the start of the appointment. The way this was handled felt unprofessional and disappointing, especially given the level of service and cost. I will not be returning as there are many other salons that can do it right the first time. Just sharing my experience for others.

But I had made…read morean appt a week ago online for the cheapest stylist they have bc I have a short bob and not paying crazy money for a trim. I put in the notes section of the comment what I was coming in for and booked it. I showed up day of, and I was told they put me with someone else bc the person I made the appt with was inexperienced. (Then why did they put her on the schedule for someone to choose? ) they said that they tried contacting me to let me know bc they didn't know what I wanted (it was in my notes section when I made the appt), and the person they put me with was 35$ more than the person i picked. From a tier 1 of 55$ to a higher tier person at 90$?! They were very polite about it and understanding when I said 90$ was too much for a trim on the back of my short hair, and I wasn't staying for it. But I don't think I'll be going back ever again. I'd rather go to a salon that does just as good for a more reasonable price.

Then I decided to try another less expensive salon nearby for coloring and highlights. However when I got serious about letting my hair go grey, I headed back to Hair Industry to get the coloring expertise needed to get the color and health of my hair back on track. Peter was recommended by a friend who sees him regularly for her cut and highlights - great recommendation! Peter managed to turn my grey roots, blond brassy highlights and dark brunette hair into cohesive beautiful varying shades of grey hair in one session (long one!). Kept my longish silver and grey hair for two years, with minimal upkeep needed, then decided another change was needed, so this Saturday I just lopped off my hair with a short style - absolutely gorgeous flattering cut. Now I'll be returning every 8 weeks or so for a touch up with Peter - absolutely great hair stylist and colorist (and extremely nice). Wonderful cuts and coloring - Very satisfied customer! ,

I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience with Alexandra!…read more A little backstory... After losing a significant amount of weight, I experienced a lot of hair loss. My first experience with extensions didn't go the way I had hoped, and I ended up with thinning hair. Then, to make matters worse, I had my hair cut by someone else, and it was left uneven. Needless to say, it was a frustrating experience, and I became very self-conscious about my hair. When I found Alexandra I explained everything I had been through with my hair. She took the time to listen to me and understand my concerns, and I immediately felt like I was in good hands. We decided that one row would be the best option for me right now, and I'm SO happy with the results! One thing I'm especially happy about is how perfectly she placed my row. I have a cowlick that I've always been insecure about, and with my previous extensions, the placement wasn't right, and it became noticeable as my hair grew out. Alexandra placed everything perfectly, and you can't even see the row, even with my cowlick showing! This was such a big deal to me! For me, this was about finding someone I could trust with my hair and feeling good about myself again. I left feeling so happy with my hair, and I can't tell you how good that feels after everything I've been through! I'm so glad I found Alexandra, and I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with her. It's such a great feeling to find someone who listens to you and genuinely cares.
