Joseph Chamberlain was Lord Mayor in the 1870s, and even laid the Council House foundation stone just round the corner. I suppose that it's fitting that one of Birmingham's most famous historical figures in Joseph Chamberlain ought to have something a bit more exciting than a simple pool with a modest spout of water. Either way, it's good to have a water feature here, amongst the concrete and the statues, even if it's not a particularly dramatic one.
