Beck's Christmas Tree Farm is just down the street from my parent's house. It's a choose and cut…read moreyour own Christmas tree farm where you can get a douglas fir, blue spruce, fraser fir or concolr fir tree. Fresh garland wreaths, roping, Christmas accessories and railroad gifts are also for sale in the barn, "Christmas Junction". Dave and Lynn Beck are good family friends so even though there are 3 or 4 other tree farms close by, we always go to Beck's. It is a tradition to go after church on a Sunday afternoon and pick our tree. Um, most people drive home with their tree tied to the roof of their car. My family is NOT like most people. Dad feels it's much easier to uh, drive our John Deere tractor/wagon here and load it up in the wagon so we can forgo the hassle of tying it to our car. It's been a little different since my brother and I left the nest as the tree is usually up when we get home from Penn State or DC, respectively. When I moved to DC and bought a fresh tree 2 years ago, I was astounded by the $50 price tag. A 4-5 foot tree for $50!? Not the case at Beck's. I believe the price is between $40-45 for a 6 or 7 foot tree which is amazing. Beck's also has a huge pile of garland behind the barn that patrons are free to take as much as they want. Mom usually takes a few pieces to assemble mini trees that she puts on our front porch as decorations. Go to Beck's for your Christmas trees. It's worth it. But you don't have to bring your tractor...you can just bring a regular car or truck ;-). [PHOTOS] http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7p4m-QZKoAeVDK99Cvw1vQ?select=OwrLyYk8B0y7UkQxUPzfAg

Palmers is a family run farm that plants their trees in well defined rows in mostly level fields…read more Palmers shapes their trees so that they have the classic look that you want. They grow a large selection of trees so there is something for everyone. The staff can direct you to the area that has the tree type and size that you're looking for, making it easy to find some good choices. Palmers supplies the saw, and there are some tree carts available to help you move your tree to the tree binding machine. I recommend that you bring a tape measure, ribbon to mark trees that you are deciding between, warm work gloves, and a canvas painting tarp to help you carry your tree (rather than dragging it on the ground, in case you can't find a tree cart). I bring ratchet tie-downs to strap the tree to the roof rack on our van, but Palmers supplies vinyl twine for you. After years at another tree farm we decided to give Palmers a look last year. We found that their trees are better organized, properly spaced for uniform growth and a good 360 view, planted logically together on mostly level terrain, and expertly shaped by their staff. The staff is friendly and helpful. Palmers is now our annual destination for a perfect Christmas tree.

The 8' MONSTER I picked up (they had it in the barn already) was without a doubt the fullest, most beautiful tree I have had in my 35 years of getting fresh trees. I didn't have the time to walk the property for a tree to cut, but when I asked about Blue Spruce, they said they have a bunch, out back, just walk and cut one!!!! OH BOY!!!! Blue Spruce is my guy. No one carries them, very few grow them, I can NOT wait for next year, I will 100% be back and cutting my 9' Blue!!!!!!! And just a couple miles off Rt 80, on and off!!!

They cut down the trees for you! No saws in the field! My family and I have been getting our tree here for almost as long as I can remember! I love walking the property lookin for the perfect tree! We have also done our yearly Christmas card picture here a few times. They have several acres to choose from. I recommend making an appointment in the summer to reserve a tree! The closer that you get to Christmas, the less of a selection that they have... They also have a nice selection of wreaths and kissing balls, as well as other Christmas items. Karoline will be happy to custom make any of them for you. All in all, it is a family run Christmas Tree Farm. Supporting them is a great way to support local businesses. For those that come a little late, they ship in some extra trees from PA, so you will always have a tree! Go early!!!!!

Seems like it was located in a large cul-de-sac in the middle of a residential area. Not much parking so be patient Good spot. Very friendly people and efficient with getting your tree set up and tied on your car. They move fast and you're in and out after you pay. The tree we picked was perfect. Service was professional and worth giving extra tips.

There was a great variety of trees, the details can be found on their website. It's very organized upon arrival with workers who show you where to park and point out the areas of different trees. I love how they put tree carts and hand saws all throughout the farm, so they are easily accessible. The trees are nicely spaced out so they are able to grow. They seem very healthy! We purchased blue spruce, and were very happy with their selection. There are many areas blocked off, I assume since they are still growing and need to mature. It's probably best they do this, to ensure proper growth and health of the trees. They have a cute store with freshly made wreaths, and all things Christmas related! It was SO cute! I'll be sure to purchase my trees and wreaths here moving fwd. The prices are a little higher than what we are use too, but I assume it's because of the care they provide to the trees and quality. Worth it to us. FYI- There are no dogs allowed or electric saws. They accept credit cards, which was nice as we didn't have cash. They shake, wrap and drill a hole into the trees. I would also wear boots you don't mind getting muddy. Thank you!!!

It wasn't easy finding trees over 9 feet. but we found it.. it cost $267. There are popular sprayed trees as well. Keep in mind they don't allow tailgating which isn't good considering we are coming 2 hours away and everyone is hungry. Apparently a few customers ruined it for the masses. We drove back home to go out to eat.
