I have been in this building since 9/2024 and I have been sexually assaulted by over night staff…read morerequiring a body cam statement to the Winsted Police, a recorded rape exam at my local hospital, and nightmares that never end. I've had incompetent nurses apply wound vac dressings without knowing how to resulting in another wound to my body. An inattentive NAR helping me transfer from my wheelchair to my bed using a transfer board they did not hold the board and I flipped forward, my left leg went under my bed and my body collapsed onto my right leg. I felt shooting pain right away! A nurse picked me up and put me on my bed. A NAR got an ice bag put it in a pillow case another got me medication for pain. A nurse was calling the clinic next door to get me a STAT portable xray but a member of management cancelled it stating it was unnecessary. 5 days later when I finally did get one my leg and foot were so swollen and discolored the tech didn't think that it would show anything. The report came back as mild osteoporosis. As a nurse myself I know that a bad sprain can hurt far worse than a break. I would request nursing to get an increase of my pain medication and I would be told to suck it up, and that I am a drug seeker. I had an appointment to see my urologist to get my super pubic catheter changed and my primary MD ordered a recheck xray. It's pretty standard. Results came back that I had a spiral fracture of my tibia! I went to TRIA Orthopedics in Waconia and I had 2 options casting for 6 weeks or surgery. I picked casting. So I fell due to negligence and the facility never filed an OHFC report with the State DOH of MN. So Medicare and Medicaid were paying the bills instead of the facility. I'm not the first one, I won't be the last. Between staff having sexual congress during work hours more than once and just gets a slap on the wrist while the rest of US have to wait 1-3 hours to have our call lights answered. Maybe it's for water, or to be changed. Maybe it's because you're being assaulted or having chest pain. But the ones that are doing the jobs of 3 people can't get to you because nobody shows up. A resident was choking during lunch one day and the Director Of Nursing just stood there. An aid gave back blows to clear the stuck object. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this place. It's Winsteds own personal Shawshank. And believe me, in that movie crawled thew a lot less waste than trying to get out of this prison of hell.

I ain't going to go into a theory but kind of strange not gonna lie. when I visited him today, he said that he had to "fight like hell to keep his inhaler in the room" which means they have been keeping them and he says when he presses the help button, they arrive 30 - 45 minutes later, luckily, he can have his inhaler in his room, although from what I've seen, I think its pretty good care kind of an interesting place.

As we are older ourselves, it is difficult to travel to visit her, and observe her care. We were very concerned that we are not able to do so on a regular basis. We contacted Touching Hearts in New London to see if they could assist us with our concerns. We are so grateful we did! They continually help us in understanding dymentia as it affects our mother. They also found the perfect companion for our mom! She is an older woman who is full of energy, spiritedness, and compassion who visits our mom twice a week. She sends reports to T.H. each week, and they, in turn, pass that information on to my family. I feel Touching Hearts is walking with us on this journey with our mother.
