A surprising little park that is perfect for beginning hikers. There's a little parking lot right at the entrance off the main road, and from there you're kind of on your own. There isn't a clear path or trail guide you need to follow, no maps, really not much of anything. The road does lead up to a small little house that you can rent for events (although I don't know how'd you get many cars in there) but otherwise the road doesn't take you anywhere. The trails are very clear (dirt paths that are very well-worn and some smaller less-traveled paths that are clear but grassy.
The trails are more like a web than a loop or out-and-back -- you'll have a lot of instances where you can turn either left or right and end up at another fork a few minutes later. Not a bad thing, just something you'll want to try to keep track of if you want to switch things up. It's a really nice balance of being out in nature, but never far away from civilization -- with someone's backyard or a main road within sight in most of the trail.
If you want something really difficult, long, or scenic this may not be the place for you, but otherwise it's a really great place to spend a quiet morning. read more
