Tickets were super affordable so I got a few for me and my family. There's plenty of free parking around the building. They also have some concessions in the lobby including popcorn, candy, soda, beer and wine, and a few basic cocktails. The volunteer ushers were so cheerful and helpful. My mom was concerned about accessibility but there are a few handicapped spaces around the back of the building and all automatic doors. I purposely picked seats in the back row of the orchestra seats since there was just one step down. But I believe they have seats along the side that are wider, more comfortable chairs and no steps to access. Plus there is an elevator to the balcony level. I thought the show was great. The costumes were fantastic! My family loved our visit and we'll definitely be back.

I visited Hendricks Live to see a children's play. I should say, the venue is officially called Hendricks Live! With an exclamation mark. As a rule, my fingers will not let me type any word or phrase containing extraneous punctuation. So, henceforth, I will be writing Hendricks Live without an exclamation. I really like that they let you eat inside the theatre. I mean, I didn't eat in there, but I like that they give you the option. They have a concession stand with things like frosted cookies, popcorn, candy, wine, beer and soft drinks. The seats have cup holders. The theatre seems relatively new and well-taken-care-of. The seats were comfy, and even though my son, who is on the shorter side, sat in back of two adults, he could still see the stage. The people who scanned our digital tickets and showed us to our seats were very friendly. The whole experience was pleasant, and we had a nice time at the theatre.

I got there at 7:53 and pulled into the driveway. There was no one there and a gate blocked the road. I started backing up and as I was trying to turn my car around I was approached by the female owner of the farm who looked so angry. She asked me what I was doing there and I told her. She told me that her driveway was not a turnaround and I apologized. I must have apologized about 5 or 6 times as she continued to talk to me in an angry and demeaning voice. She told me to go back out to the street and come back at 8:00 and that she would open the gate at that time and tell me where to park. I left the farm and parked on the side of the road until I saw the people I knew arriving. As I drove up, she had a smile on her face. She apologized for yelling at me because she "was tired of people turning around in her driveway." She asked If I had anything to unload and pointed me toward the left of the parking area. My motto in life, and I have raised my children this way, is to ALWAYS respect others. I don't care how many times people turn around in my driveway, I would NEVER come out and yell at them. She knew that people were coming at 8:00 to set up, why didn't she just open the gate? Is it good business for an owner to treat a potential customer this way? Jameson Camp is a hidden gem located off of Bridgeport Road just north of West Washington Street…read more First I'd like to take a moment to tell you of the wonderful work Jameson Camp does and how your rental fees help with that mission. The Camp is a beautiful venue for events while the affordable rental fees help support the children and youth programs for at-risk youths. The Camp began in 1928 and you or your grandparents may be familiar with their history of serving ill children. Jameson Camps' focus is on children's social, behavioral and emotional challenges and equipping them for productive and responsible lives. Responding to an increasing concern for childhood obesity a Wellness Camp was launched in 2006, a creative program that utilizes camp to teach healthy choices in fitness and nutrition. Last, but certainly not least, is their Camp Tataya Mato for children affected by HIV/AIDS which is the only residential camp to these special children in Indiana. As you can see your rental fees support the outstanding work Jameson Camp does serving children with health needs in the Indianapolis area. In 2006 they replaced the original headquarter with a beautiful new center, lodge, health center and a nature and arts and crafts center. No only providing enhanced program facilities for the children, these buildings provide new opportunities to serve as a community partner and provide funding from the rental fees. This is a wonderful venue for events as small as a corporate business meeting to an elegant wedding. Several sizes of venues are available or even rent the entire camp for the ideal wedding or family reunion where your event along with family and friends are residing at one location. The Lodge and Cabins are so affordable compared to the cost of hotel rooms and transportation for your wedding guests, business associates or family traveling. The Lodge is its own large facility and sleeps 24 for $450. What a savings compared to a Hotel!! There are four meeting areas of various sizes and prices along with 6 cabins for lodging that accommodates 24 in each plus don't forget The Lodge. The Challenge Course is available to incorporate into your event with low and high ropes plus a climbing wall. Other amenities include a basketball court, swimming pool, open game fields and a campfire circle. The Jameson Center is picturesque with a majestic-pine-framed dining room with a striking two sided fireplace that accommodates 140 persons for dinner. If that's too large select the smaller dining room with fireplace and seats 30. The Jameson Center rental includes the use of their FULL commercial kitchen including the walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer. A Chefs' dream whether you use a preferred caterer or you personally prepare the meals. Vanessa, the Office Manager, was telling me of recent large wedding with a beautiful large tent adjacent to the Jameson Center where the guests stepped directly into the tent from the dining room. You can have your wedding and dinner inside and dancing outside. So many options here! Leadership training, Corporate Team Meeting, Weddings, Reunions, endless uses for this venue. Be sure to check out this scenic facility and grounds. Give Vanessa Fry a call for a tour or e-mail her at Vanessa@jamesoncamp.org for additional information.

Our day-of coordinator was wonderful, and the venue itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, we…read moreexperienced far too many issues with the venue and its vendors to feel comfortable recommending it. The venue is advertised as all-inclusive, but there are very limited options when it came to things like dinnerware and decor. Our wedding colors were ivory, gold, and various greens, yet the disposable dinnerware was black with silver plasticware, and the china was white. We had to purchase our own plates, bowls, gold plasticware, and 80 goblets to match our tablescape. After the wedding, we were told all of our unused items had been placed in a box for us. Instead, we received one dirty plate, bowls, and spoons. There were no goblets and no clean dinner or cake plates. We had a guest count of around 60, we purchased 80 of each thing. We should have had 20 extra of each plate, and 20 extra goblets, and none were to be found. After contacting them, they eventually shipped some items back. Including two plates, two goblets, our napkins, and one fork. Yes, you heard that right. They individually wrapped a plastic fork. Very petty if you ask me. The DJ experience was also extremely disappointing. We had multiple meetings where we clearly communicated that we wanted an upbeat, energetic wedding with guest engagement. During the ceremony, my entrance song ended while I was still walking down the aisle, the officiants' microphones repeatedly cut out, and our exit music was barely audible. The DJ and coordinator had different entrance orders, causing confusion. During dinner, the DJ played techno when we had specifically requested swing music and she even told my mom she didn't know what swing music was. During dancing, there was little to no engagement with the guests, and we were later told this was the DJ's first wedding (by the Dj herself) We also discovered food, wine, ink stains and rips on multiple linens while steaming them ourselves before the wedding day. (Yes, they don't steam their linens. They are creased horribly) Thankfully, we caught them before the wedding began and they were replaced. Our decor options were also very limited. We were told that if we wanted to incorporate calla lilies (our wedding flower) we would have to donate them to the venue. We did so, only to have them mixed into other flowers where they were barely noticeable. We ended up decorating our own head table to make it better fit our wedding. The bridal and groom suites also did not have private bathrooms, and those bathrooms only had air dryers, which could cause spotting with satin dresses. Approximately a week after the wedding, my parents were contacted and told that the final payment check they had already provided (a month before the wedding) was missing, supposedly lost by the bank. Having to deal with a missing payment after the wedding was over was another unnecessary stress. Finally, the venue is directly next to the family's mortuary. We were completely unprepared to see our wedding names displayed on the outdoor screen as "Congrats! Jonah & Kaitlynn. Jones Family Mortuary." That was an incredibly uncomfortable surprise that we absolutely would have wanted to know about before booking. We understand that no wedding is perfect, and we are not expecting perfection. What we did expect was professionalism, communication, attention to detail and honesty. And upon explaining all of these issues to Olivia and Tricia, we were told that they got told completely different things. Showing that there are dishonest people working for them. Unfortunately, there were too many issues before, during, and after our wedding for us to recommend this venue based on our experience. Our wedding was still beautiful because of our family, friends, and the memories we made together. But if we could choose our venue again knowing what we know now, we would make a different choice.
