They've got all the staples: JCPenneys, Costco, Macy's, Target, H&M, plus smaller stores like Five Below and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The food court is huge and continues to grow, with some older spots being replaced by newer options. I was first introduced to this mall in a pretty unconventional way--at a dance event hosted by Urban Dance Artistry. The space was large enough to host a big crowd and still allow for smaller performance pockets, which showed me how versatile the mall space actually is. As far as cleanliness goes, the mall itself is generally clean and bustling with a very diverse crowd, which I love to see. The only downside? The bathrooms could definitely use some attention. They can be messy and not the freshest-smelling at times. Although I do really like that they have a separate area for kids to wash their hands. I'm not much of a mall shopper these days, and a lot of the stores aren't necessarily places I'd go out of my way for. But as a parent? This place is gold. My son absolutely loves the play area. There's also a paid bounce house spot near it (which he thoroughly enjoyed), and they have the indoor train that rides through the mall--which is basically a core childhood memory waiting to happen. It's also a great spot for teens to meet up at. I love that they have a little photo booth to print out 4 pictures on a strip, very nostalgic vibes. It's also super convenient. The Wheaton train station is right there, but it's also a hub for a lot of buses, making public transit access incredibly easy. On top of that, you've got nearby restaurants, Party City, a grocery store, and plenty of other essentials within walking distance. There's even a CVS Pharmacy nearby. Overall, it's a solid, practical, family-friendly mall. Not luxury, not glamorous--but convenient, affordable, and full of things to do--especially if you have kids. Four stars from me.

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

My favorite places here: Library, BobaPOP, Kyoto, 5 Guys , First Watch. Lots of Pokestop or gyms if you play Pokémon go. Alot of good restaurants are gone :( so make sure you check before coming here. Oh yeah Trader Joe's is here and with free 60 minute parking!

What the towing company is actually doing is hooking up a car, then waiting for the customer to return then demanding a "drop fee" (cash only please) to unhook the car. I recently took a visit to one of the spots within Pike & Rose and when I rolled into one of their garages to grab a ticket at the entrance, I was caught off guard. Not only was there no button to press for a ticket; I noticed the setup was completely different to when I last saw it (I don't visit very often). The screen prompted me to enter my phone number, but since I was new to this whole setup, I decided to bypass that prompt entirely. It showed me as being anonymous and I noticed a 4-digit code popped up on the screen for me to remember. As I parked, I quickly noted the code and the time I entered. After taking care of things, it was time for me to head out. As I proceeded to leave (ready with the 4-digit code it gave me earlier), and pulled up to the garage exit, I noticed the bar to the gate rose up without me doing anything. So, I left. It wasn't until later I realized it must have scanned my license coming in and leaving. Good to know. Depending on where you are shopping you can get some good deals or some expensive meals. So,the value depends on where you visit. Service at each of the places I have gone to is good. The store itself is very tiny compared to other dollar stores like Dollar Tree. Many of the items are $1, but many of the other items are worth more than $1. I personally don't understand why a dollar store sells products that are worth more than $1.... There's a variety of products from home goods, party supplies, clothing, beauty supplies, artificial flowers, etc. However, if you go down the street, all the items are $1 and are more name brands (Colgate, Irish Springs, Tide, Betty Crocker, etc) which I think is a better deal. I give them 3 stars because yes, they do have products that are $1 and they're conveniently located, but I've been to better dollar stores where everything was a dollar with a bigger selection.

Downtown Silver Spring is amazing and has been my home for over a decade. So much transit options…read morethat will get even better with Purple Line. Good affordable parking access through the County if one drives as well. So many great businesses especially restaurants from cuisines all over the world with Ethiopian as most dominant. Probably the best coffee selection in the region as well. Two movie theatres (Regal and AFI) as well as Ellsworth and Black Box as well as Dave and Busters for entertainment. Home to some of the best beer selection around at Fenwick (retail) and Quarry House Tavern. Originally home to Denizens and Astro Lab and now Third Hill and Silver Branch. Four groceries stores as well make it far from a food desert. Multiple healthcare providers as well especially in Montgomery building. Pride, Jazz, and global festivals as well as a weekly farmers market on Saturday are nice as well. Housing options that have continued to expand tend to be more affordable than DC, Arlington, Tysons, Bethesda, and Rockville.
