Absolutely not. They have small children ages 4 years old mixed in with children going into 7th grade the entire time! They use the excuse that majority of the kids attending are related to each other and cry if they cannot be with their sibling/cousin and that's why they put them all together. Disregarding kids that have no relatives present, and they do not provide age appropriate instructions. Rather, they allow their TA's to give instructions to all the kids, instead of asking of a small child can even read or write. They ask the older kids to take care of the small ones and even take them to the restroom to wash their hands or go to the bathroom. If you want your child to have age appropriate instructions or activities, along with help to go to the restroom please do not go here! The mix of preteens with kids who have not even started TK is wildly inappropriate and they use "family" and older older kids being "nurturing" as an excuse to not separate kids, hire age specific teachers and to actually provide age appropriate care for kids with a huge age gap.

When inquiring about the financial aid, he responded to my emails immediately and I felt very welcome from the beginning. Also I am very grateful for the financial aid my daughter is getting for this reason she is attending Incarnation. Again Dr. Boysen is very involved in the school and students daily life. Every morning when I drop my daughter off he is there happy smiling ready to get the day going for the kids! I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to place my daughter in this school. My daughter also tells me that the principal is outside during recess talking to the students and making sure everyone is happy! The teachers do care they respond to my emails the same day. There is a lot of activities in the school that kids get the kids engaged in their education. Some of the other reviews mention that the school only cares about money that's not the issue. Again when you truly care for the education of your children, private school some times is the best option which it does involve money. Just like going to a University versus a Cal state in the university you're going to get more 1 on 1 attention. Yes... The lunch is around five dollars but that saves so much time for me in the morning and my daughter gets to have lunch with her friends at school. Some people pay five dollars for a cup of coffee, but the lunch here is great and my daughter gets to be with friends and other students in a loving environment! I would recommend the school 100% it goes pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. It's definitely better than the schools in the area. And wearing a uniform does bring her responsibility and a sense of pride in her appearance. If your faith means anything, it should mean treating people with dignity regardless of perceived status. Dr. Boysen failed that test completely. We won't be back.

What makes VW extra special are the parent organizations. In addition to the PTA, VW has 2 more parent-based organizations - the WAVE Foundation and the Dad's Club. The PTA puts together school events like the book fair and school festivals. The WAVE Foundation raises money to support school programs like art, music, teacher resources, and taiko lessons. And finally the Dad's Club puts on fun events like Halloween Spooktacular maze+games, Father's Follies play, and many other social events for parents and families. The Dad's Club also lends the school space to use as a multi-purpose room. My daughter is in the Japanese Dual Language program here, where instruction for all subjects are 50% English and 50% Japanese. For example, the lastest lesson was on solids, liquids, and gasses - 固体、液体、気体. Kanji levels are the same as in Japan, and my daughter's English reading level is average or above, according to standardized tests. It's a win-win! The school offers Taiko drumming lessons and orchestra for 4th grade and older. It also has a robotic club, math club, and Student Council. Additionally, it partners with local education businesses to offer various before or after school classes such as computer programming, robotics, drawing, cooking, drama class, chess club, and so much more. Finally, what makes VW great are the Friday playdates at Verdugo Park. A lot of us go to the park after school and Fridays where parents mingle and chat while the kids play and do homework together (ok, homework is only sometimes, but still!) Beyond that, our experience has been incredibly disappointing. There is a blatant culture of favoritism here. If you are willing to make large, extra donations on top of tuition, your child will be prioritized and supported. If you do not make these donations, you will absolutely feel the discrimination. It is highly frustrating to experience this when we already pay $1,200 to $1,300 a month in tuition. Even my 4-year-old noticed the difference, feeling left out because other kids were clearly receiving more attention and support. For the amount of tuition they charge, the programs are remarkably cheap. They do not invest back into the children's development, and there is a complete lack of modern technology or learning resources. Prospective parents should also know that the school uses faith as a marketing tool. They constantly invoke religion, Jesus Christ, and Saint Mary to attract families, but the actual quality and environment of their programs do not reflect Christian values at all. If we had known this from the start, we would have never enrolled our child here. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want an inclusive, high-quality environment for your child.

The teachers are caring, attentive, and truly invested in each student's success, which makes a big difference. The school also has a strong sense of structure and decorum, especially with uniforms that help create a respectful and focused learning environment. There is a real sense of community here--families are involved, supported, and welcomed, which makes it feel like more than just a school. We also appreciate the spiritual foundation of the school. Weekly church on Fridays and family mass on Sundays help strengthen faith and bring everyone together in a meaningful way. Nothing makes me happier than being able to participate and watch my child present and read during Mass, take part in class projects, and see her excitement in sharing what she has learned.
