Dr. Leupnitz is amazing! He is so knowledgable, a lifelong learner. I had a stroke and was suffering lasting side affects. the doctors had no idea why I had the ischemic stroke.... he discovered some genes that were participating in my defective genealogy. I am writing because of my shock regarding a recent one star rating. I am an RN and had heard about Dr. Luepnitz for years from health care providers, but never thought I would need to make an appointment. I won't go into the details for privacy sake, but I took my teenage athletic daughter in to see him after workups with four different board certified, licensed physicians who could not figure out was wrong. I point out the level of education and accolades so as not to confuse them with snake oil salesmen. Dr Luepnitz requested 23 and me data for the raw DNA info available, went over all her labs, went over a lot of details pertaining to the problem and figured out what all the other good doctors could not. Among other things she was anemic and depressed. He made recommendations not only for nutrients but for her workouts and diet. The RESUTS were stellar! Not only does she feel and act better but she improved in her sport enough to receive a scholarship. I went through one of the physicians to get an order for labs he was requesting. I wasn't sure how the request was going to go over since I was requesting it per a nutritionist. The moment she heard who we were working with she said "Just tell me what he wants and I will send it in". Really happy that we didn't take heed from one of the reviews that called him a fraud and advised "Do not listen to a word he says". Had we listened I can't imagine where we would be now. Dr. Luepnitz is amazing. He's getting my white blood cells up so I can start round 5 of chemo for Brain Cancer. He's got me on a very strict diet. Smoothie with IP6 and Glutamine for breakfast, blended soup for lunch and soft protein and cooked veggies for dinner. Can't have salads for now and the fruit and veggies have to be frozen. Just until my WBC's go up. He doesn't want extra bacteria and/or salad is hard to process in my tummy. 1 protein shake split in 3 so I can take my doggie on walks 3 times a day with a swig before hand. Tons of vitamins. Garlic pill called Allimax, Oregamax, Vitamin D3, Folinic Acid active form of Folic Acid, 4 Curcumin pills that cross the blood brain barrier, 3 mg of melatonin, and 2 gummy vitamins. I chose gummy. Dr. Luepnitz needs a much better review and I need to set the record straight. (Yelp is filled with negative reviews so take them with a grain of salt please) I went in to see him after being recommended by a close friend and co-worker. I loved the information I received. I saw Dr. Luepnitz before hip surgery for core decompression and wanted a little extra help to aid in the healing of my hip. I CLEARLY understood that insurance wouldn't cover anything that remotely sounds like preventative medicine...you have to be dense as spanish oak to assume other wise. Our meeting lasted one hour and I knew that I would be drinking from a firehose of knowledge so I sat back and soaked it all up. I found out a lot about what drives me to be an athlete, why my lungs are bigger than most, why I don't process alcohol the same as everyone else and why a cut takes longer to heal. It was all a lesson in oxygen uptake. Oxygen is the key to life as a human on this planet and most of us are running around with a clogged air filter. After leaving his office with a bunch of supplements I was optimistic as anything I did to help my situation was worth it in my mind. I know how important the mind/body connection is...couple that with sensible supplements and you have a great plan of attack. Healing is up to you...always. I'm using Gluconic DMG, NAC, NEO 40, methyl folate and Vitamin B12...all for a genetic defect I carry. Why go through life inhibited? I'm essentially on the same playing field now as 25 year old boys now and I'm 40. He did not recommend anything that wasn't necessary. ANY DOCTOR CAN BE ACCUSED OF GETTING IT WRONG AT TIMES. I went to three hip doctors before settling on my current surgeon. Do your due dilligence. Dr. Luepnitz carries a very large and established pedigree with him. The negative reviewer lives in the state of worry it seems and that is always going to be detrimental to one's health. Most Americans are conditioned to the blame game, and are willing to point the finger at someone else. Did the negative reviewer tell you of their eating habits? Drinking habits? Lifestyle habits? Health is much more than a pill people. It's mainly up to you. Go see Dr. Luepnitz and you will be glad you did. IF you are a hypochondriac, don't go see him as he won't "heal" you. That is ultimately your decision and no one else's. I feel better than I have in years and I owe it to a three fold effort between me, my surgeon and Dr. Luepnitz. On a side note about NP H.'s post. I suffer from at least two autoimmune disorders. In 2012 I developed vitiligo on my neck. I have to confess that having vitiligo was spiritually debilitating. I saw 3 different dermatologists in a period of 6 months and none of them gave me any hope. Then, my acupuncturist recommended Dr. Luepnitz. He gave me a regime for my vitiligo that included Agaricus Blazei and other supplements as well as an anti-inflammatory diet that excluded gluten, corn and sugar. Dr. Luipnitz "saved my bacon". I was so symptomatic so my Nurse Practitioner gave me his info and said she has seen him work miracles. He was the eight doctor I had seen in seven months and hit the nail on the head with the first issue being my gallbladder. Apparently I am not the norm in MD's eyes but I was in his! The second "ah ha" was my genetic makeup and my sensitivities to a mix of many things like medications and toxins that my liver can't easily break down. I was shocked at how well he read me so I obviously fit into a category he has studied but my MD's missed. I had to have surgery to remove my gallbladder. I never done well with medications or anesthesia. I feared surgery so bad that I had a two hour sinus surgery on local anesthesia and happy pills two years ago. This time was different because Dr. Luipnitz prepared me for the best outcome and my Anesthesiologist validated Dr L's work with me post op. I didn't find Glen through ads or google searches - I found him because one of my contractors was raving about him and said he'd be a great resource for food allergy / sensitivity concerns. Since then, it seems most people I mention his name to say, "I've heard of him. Everyone says he's awesome." I agree. Here's been my experience: As highlighted in other posts on my "Doctor Doctor" list, I had a long list of diagnosis that added up to a whole lot of nothing. I figured out the food allergy component of it, but wanted help optimally managing that as well as my other health issues. I also wanted to find out what I should probably take as a supplement indefinitely and which ones I could stop taking once I got myself healthy again. Visits with Glen will include taking into account your ancestry and genetic predispositions as well as charts and medical studies to back everything up. I'm a read the original source material kinda lady so I appreciate this immensely; especially in a a field full pseudo nutritionists peddling snake-oil remedies with their associates degree certifications. His advise is researched, spot - on, and helpful. Cost and Billing: Over the last 7 years or so I've seen Glen maybe 4 or 5 times. This is significant because it shows that he's not one of those nutritionists that is trying to get you to come visit every 6 weeks for the rest of your life. He will do all he can to give you the most information in the most time and cost efficient manner. No, he doesn't bill with insurance, but... one visit with him just may be the same as 10 co-pays you may to someone who does. Cost of supplements: Also, many nutritionists try to make the majority of their money off of add on supplements that I suspect they get the biggest percentage of profit from. Not here. After my first visit, I literally took the list of suggested supplements and googled around for a few hours to double check that his office had best prices. He did. I also appreciated that I wasn't pressured into leaving with any supplements or even purchasing from them at any point. My last visit, I came in with the labels from what I was taking currently and Glen went through each one saying, "this is great, this is a good one, this one you probably don't even need, this one would be better in the methyl form... ". Not once saying or even implying that I needed to consider his version. He really just cares about you being healthy. If picking up a bottle with him is convenient, great. If it is while you are in the grocery store, great. Pregnancy: Lots of providers run away from pregnant patients not wanting to deal with the difficulty of advising a woman during this important life stage. Glen was awesome. I wanted to double check all I was doing to make sure it wasn't too much or too little and that I wasn't taking things that were inappropriate. In addition to being one of the most intelligent doctors with whom I have ever visited, Dr. Leupnitz is one of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met. He truly cares for his patients in a way I have never experienced. Although my appointments are usually set for an hour, they have usually run over. He never rushes me, taking time to address each concern and question and offering hope and encouragement along with each medical diagnosis. Dr. Leupnitz has a true gift and all of his patients are blessed to be able to be treated by him. I initially met with him for issues with fertility / hormones and in addition to excellent medical information, he gave me something far more important: HOPE. I left his office feeling more confident than ever that there was hope with our 5+ year struggle to get pregnant. My appointment with him was in August and we were pregnant with our first the next month. Keep in mind that we had seen many fertility specialists, had done fertility treatments, had had multiple surgeries and still had no success. Like I said, Dr. Leupnitz has a gift - intellectual and spiritual - and we are so grateful that we found him. His staff is equally courteous and his supplements are affordable and NOT pushed on you.
