Please know I personally feel the Digestive and Liver Disorders Center at IU Hospital is one of the best in the country. They are incredibly busy but work with each patient based upon the gravity of the illness. The physicians, surgeons, nurses, CNA and complete team are past amazing but more along the level of phenomenal. The surgeons and physicians have spent years treating my health issues and truly saved my life. Now, years after my procedure, I still receive the same excellent care as the first day I met my team of doctors. The extraordinary level of compassion and devotion never seems to diminish. After working with my physicians and team I found a new inter-strength and put my life into their hands and those above. I never doubted their skills or wisdom nor would they give anything less than a 150% during surgery after a little assistance from above. I feel blessed I live in Indianapolis and was referred to my IU Physicians after a gall bladder issue. The treatment path is usually long, frustrating with many hoops to jump through with a sense of helplessness. The team remains steady while encouraging and doesn't fall down on the job. Now coming up on my 4 year post surgery anniversary these tenacious physicians and staff regularly monitor, treat any new developing medical issues and confirm all is going well. Many patients have temporarily moved to Indianapolis to request health care from the Digestive & Liver Disorders Center. I could better explain this with a 2 page narrative but to save you the long read, I'll try to trim it up, a lot. I was having a rough time with pain in my left lung but unable to word it for whatever reason, but did say I have terminal lung cancer and was just back from a 25 day trip that included a cruise of 17 days and Japan etc. Again, made it clear I have lung cancer and I was actively coughing. CT of abdomen and brain were ordered. I did ask for lung CT and Dr said no to save me from getting the extra radiation to just get it done when I see Oncologist. I know their Oath is to do No Further Harm is part of performing their job. So those that know, know when you have terminal lung cancer we get a lot of radiation and its a necessary evil. He decided to die on the hill of not giving me more radiation and wouldn't do lung CT, although told him i have lung cancer and just had pneumonia and treatment a few weeks earIier but was hurting and coughing. Also had not had BM in 2 weeks and abdomen hurt with history of obstructions and acute memory issues so not sure what I may be leaving out. But, I did ask for and want the lung CT. He denied as I said for the template type response of not radiating me and I can get it done later. Just realize he caused me further harm because now I will have to get out AGAIN to get lung CT to see if progressing or pneumonia back or worse. It was kind of creepy to be honest as some type of power play over not wanting to radiate me. Ok, he won, of course and now I still have to get that done so my Oncologist can properly treat whatever is brewing in there. We could have started a more accurate treatment plan right from this ER had he just allowed the lung CT. His only reason was extra radiation I would have to get again anyway, which just isnt factual. Had he completed this lung CT we would have had the jump start, not a blind antibiotic start and making me have to go back out to get a lung CT scan. Causing undue hardship on me the patient and antibiotic resistance concerns over his concern of excess radiation I needed anyway. You can't make this up. Some Dr's truly have issues with doing what they say even when it isnt in the patients best interest as far as adding more visits to the patient that didnt need to be added. Im sure he sticks with his template answer of not needing it, but yes, I do and will and my Dr said do NOT take the antibiotic this Dr ordered blindly for a probable pneumonia continuation and we all know why. While I was there and stayed in pain as no pain meds were offered because I was confused and told them I thought I took 2 recently, my husband let them know I was definitely confused because I didnt take any pain meds and was in pain. I can understand not giving me anything for that, I guess, but I left in more pain than I started because it wasnt addressed further nor given. The GI was severe constipation and a plan is in place which isn't a big deal except causing pain there and nausea. I wouldn't go back to this ER if they feel the need to be right instead of listening to their patient. I am glad the CT of brain was not showing a spread to brain, but again, my Dr stated with my symptoms we need the MRI as the CT wouldn't show. All I knew after all was said and done is I still had abdominal pain, lung pain, coughing, memory issues, which pain wasnt treated and lung CT was refused by MD and the antibiotic he ordered was a waste as my Dr stated not to take it. I don't imagine I'd ever need to use their services again and would use another place instead. They were nice, but somewhat arrogant, fairly fast, and extremely dismissive. They have a treat and street mentality going in rather than treat to get better. Do least amount of tests needed rather than best testing for situation. Id rate 6.5/10 not bad just odd behavior to make me need more CT scans because he refused.

Which is no big deal because I was going for a depo shot; so all I needed was to walk in, hand them the drug, pee in a cup (to check for pregnancy, cause you are not to administer birth control if one is pregnant), get a shot in my ass and then leave. On several occasions I would have to wait for at least half an hour or more, with a baby. Now I used to work for an extremely busy cardiologist who did office hours and heart caths on the same day all intermingled, always running back and forth from office to hospital at a full sprint. But family care is a little different, these people were not running any where... One time I went in for a one p.m. appointment, and they told me I would have to wait cause they were still having lunch I was told this by what I am assuming one employees daughter and friend.. pretty unprofessional. The doctors were obviously not in on that day. Second bad visit, after waiting 40 minutes with my baby I was called back and oops they forget to have me pee in a cup and then went ahead and gave me the shot anyways. The doctor was really nice but the office and staff are out of control. I would never go back under any circumstance.

Plus they no longer take my in-network lab services. All labwork goes throught IU Hospital and a less favorable coverage rate from my insurance, Anthem. Lab work now treated as a hospital charge. Great doctors but they affilliated with the wrong network.

This is the IU Health - Glendale Town Center practice, a practice devoted to primary care and also…read morepediatrics. There's also a lab available in this office. For those familiar with Glendale Town Center, this is located on the second floor of the offices section of the complex on the side directly off of East 62nd Street. There's a small lobby/storefront area directly next to Mattress Firm that has an elevator that will take you to the second floor. There's also a set of stairs available for those who prefer. I needed to establish care with a new primary care physician as my previous one relocated to Shelbyville and is just a bit too far away for me. I'd previously looked at appointments here, however, they were a couple months out and I skipped it. However, because I attend an IU Health clinic elsewhere they were able to get me in within a couple weeks. They do have automatic doors for those who need them. That's a plus. I also noted very quickly that this was one of the better looking and cleaner IU Health clinics I've experienced. I arrived a good 15-20 minutes before my scheduled check-in time and checked in at the front desk. Because I'm an established IU Health patient, I didn't really need to do much else. I waited in the waiting room until I was called. I was taken back in a timely manner. They asked me how I usually got weighed (I don't usually as most clinics are not set up for wheelchair users) and I did note they didn't have any of the modern tech that would do that without a scale. I was taken into an exam room - very small room that would definitely not be considered ADA compliant. It was so small I had to move quite a bit in order for the employees to get around me. I did like that they had an exam bed that was lower to the ground and adjustable. However, this was definitely not an appropriate room for a wheelchair user. My doctor was Dr. Boyce. We had a nice conversation about my needs for the day. She only works part-time in the clinic and we also discussed that. It was a fine appointment - not outstanding, however, there was really nothing wrong with it. I was somewhat hesitant to establish with IU as they are not the top tier of my insurance, however, Dr. Boyce seems nice and this is very close to my home. So, it should work. My hope is that in the future I can utilize a more appropriate exam room. However, overall, this was a solid experience with friendly staff and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

The medication lasted 9 days after which the pain started to return. I called them on day 13 to have them renew my prescription or get me another that would eliminate my pain. I was told that their policy was they would only prescribe a new medication within 9 days of being seen and I would have to come back and pay another $179 to address my issue. My prescription didn't run out until 9 days passed! They also said my NP who prescribed my medication was off that day and and another attending would not write a script without seeing me first for another $179. What... I guess the other attending couldn't read my file, or even make a phone call to the NP??? This place is nothing but a money grab, forget being cared for like they care about you, it's all about the money!!!!!

They're a busy but caring place. If you leave a message or contact them through email, they will get back to you usually the same day depending on what time you call in. He splits time here, another office and surgery, so it may be difficult to get a hold of his staff at times. I have also had to wait a long time after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. One time I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. They were very apologetic about the situation though. They also have their own physical therapy attached with them, but you are not obligated to go. I am a South sider, so I went to a physical therapy studio near me. The place has a decent waiting room and friendly staff. They also have a huge parking lot that it shares with the other business in the building that it shares. They treated me very well here and got me on the right path. I wish I would have came here first for my broken elbow, but oh well. If you find yourself in need of this place's services, you are in good hands and I highly recommend checking them out.

I was referred here after breaking my arm and apprehensive after seeing the less than three star…read morereview. They are located in a new medical building across from St Vincent's in Carmel. I had a 7 am appointment and they were in the office when I arrived at 6:30 am. I was a little discouraged by the 4 pages of paperwork that I needed to fill out with my broken arm before being seen. I was called back a little after 7. The nurse, Kat, was friendly as she took my history and gently removed my cast. Dr Peers came in soon there after and looked at the arm and took me for xrays in an adjacent room. He actually took the xrays and described what he saw. He spoke in terms that I understood and answered questions. His care and consultation were excellent and he took me to another room to start physical therapy. The physical therapist, Jenny, prepared a brief set of exercises and we practiced. She set up follow up visits. I liked that the office is self contained with everything right there. The entire visit took under an hour and I felt that I was well cared for. I highly recommend. I also recommend early morning time to avoid the wait.
